And therein lies a very serious problem: the voting for "MY best interest" trope.
We've all been corraled into this voting "mindset." There are 342 million of us in this country, of which approximately 328 million are of voting age. If you strictly vote "what's in it for me?"... that's ALOT of directions the votes go in, and yes, somebody's going to get disappointed.
You simply cannot please everyone. Period.
Sometimes, depending on the parties' agendas... you have got to vote with your hand UP 🫸🏽 instead of your hand OUT🫴🏽.
Instead of voting for what you can GET out of the deal? You may need to vote instead for what you don't want FORCED UPON YOU.
There are alot of cultures that make up this already great nation and no one can have it all!
But likewise, you should consider political agendas that are more all-encompassing that equally help our nation as a WHOLE, excluding no one.
Sometimes, that means not getting EVERYTHING you want, but alot of what you NEED, and OTHERS will get what they need as well.
Don't fall for the vile political agendas that seek to divide the electorate and make everyone retreat to their defensive corners.
We need to vote based on what's best for our country as a whole.
Inside the "whole" will/should be "some" fixes for all of the country's cultures.
Vote in the right people that will enforce the laws and support the constitution for ALL OF US.
Say that to the crowd in 2020 that little over 1/3 that didn't vote that could have.

Our people (those who're undecided) appear to have a daunting task when it comes to who they should vote for.
My message to these uncommitted voters is to wake up and SMELL the smoke coming from the burning kitchen, which, if it goes unchecked, will burn the whole house down!!
I dont understand how some of us are not waking up to the truth about the stark differences between the two candidates.
Our people, more than others, know we are the ones who will be disproportionately affected. For many of us, this is home. There's nowhere else for us to go.
There's too much at stake for us to sit this election out. To do so is to give up our hard fought rights and our destiny.

What can I say, 'you're one in a million'.
No one has still answered for me what exactly is the problem with President Biden and no one has one. I don't want to hear anything about age, especially when Iowa reelected Grassley who at 88 in 2022. There are multiple senators with longer terms than the president who is older than him.
Look around. Biden's policy benefits Israel, Ukraine, illegal immigrants, and the 'letter community'. Trump won't benefit us either. So who's for us? No one!
It's mainly single issue voters. Those against the genocide in Gaza. Those who want student debt relief (although this group seems to be woefully uneducated about the steps that Biden has already done despite the Republicans and SCOTUS. Then there are the ones who just want to watch the world burn.
Exactly....there is no problem eith Biden. maga tried to dirty him up for years and nothing stuck, nothing. Besides, the policies he's enacted have moved this country in a positive direction.
He has done nothing for the people who got him the job, it wasn't Asian people is sure as hell wasn't any of these illegals he is letting in, and under the Democrats watch black people have lost parts of the voting rights act, loss parts of the 14 amendments and equal rights and privacy rights, no John Lewis act, no police reform not a peep about that our number one concern since the early 1920's, No economic plan for black men.

Our national and local service and community organizations need to strategically implement this defensive strategy-WE CAN ADVANCE OUR OWN INTERESTS BY TURNING OUT IN LARGER NUMBERS and actively getting involved in commuity POLITICS!
My grandfather used to say, "Experience is a dear teacher but a fool will learn no other way". I'm at a point where I vacillate between totally giving up on people and believing there's hope. At this stage of the game, I'm preparing for when SHTF. I pray that I'm wrong but there are too many people who will only learn the hard way (be it from apathy, distraction, stupidity, whatever).

Between the struggle to protect/prepare our children, with leaders blaming others for the problems of the country, and working with Dems because they can be reasoned with. I work with a young black man who absolutely will not be convinced to vote. He's educated and professional, carries himself with the utmost dignity and respect. He's acutely aware of the nation's problems. He just doesn't believe that voting will make a difference. He's already given up on the ability to right this ship through active democracy. Every time we discuss it, I come away feeling more discouraged. But it's important to keep trying. We all owe it to future generations to have the conversation.

I got into politics when the price of candy went up. This was during the Cuban crisis. I couldn't even vote, but I wanted to know why. I had a real candy addiction at the time. October 1962, penny candy went from a handful for a penny to one piece for a penny. You must have a voice in every aspect of your life, I will never sit around and let someone control my life without my voice being heard. Even if it's just my small voice! With all due respect to the esteemed Mr. Mystal, that "we" is really important. "We" did not always know democracy. "We" know exactly what lack of autonomy feels like, even in my lifetime, even in his. And that makes a difference. One doesn't have to go back very far to tap into that feeling that it all really doesn't matter, whether that's currently true or not.

It seems to me that the main grievances with regard to Black apathy towards Biden is down to three things: 1. What has the Dems done for Black ppl historically (feeling like Black people throw the vote away every election), 2. Feeling like Dems highlight powerlessness with regard to racism or racial hierarchy, 3. Wanting reparations (many just wanting to move the needle), 4. The economy. (The perception that they had more $$ under trump.) and 5. Immigration. (I don't know but it seems like a lot of people feel a competition with immigrants for some reason.) Abortion rights is Dem value but I don't think it's centralized with the Black ppl I've spoken with (specifically the men). I don't they care about the same issues that Dems keep highlighting, and that's why it doesn't seem like they are touched by the cheering for the economy, good job numbers or even outrage over abortion news.
