Just purchased the crosman 1322, had 1 as a kid, now a old man it definitely beings back lots of memories.
A design classic. If a gun this old is still in production you know it's a winning formula. Will have to get mine out of the locker tomorrow for some target shooting.
Still the proud owner of a 1322 from the 70s. Still works and having added a red dot and stock, it is a handy small rifle as well.
There is a good reason they are still making these. I have several in various states of modification. Great fun for the money. About $60 here in the USA.
I was at Drapers Saturday morning, I had to have one , great Father’s Day gift .
I’ve shot it a few times since then and I can’t fault it for the price 😊
I use these in New Zealand for pest control on the farm. Yes, I have a .22LR but I also have neighbours on a couple of boundaries. I took a 2250 barrel (I snapped the donor, don't ask) and put it on, and a scope. Lighter than a 2250 this now does anything I can ask of the. 22LR up to 20m or so. It *can* head shot a rabbit but I suggest not. I came across one that needed putting down or I wouldn't have.
Where this scores huge over a piston gun is that you can fire it from any position without altering the impact point. Rest the barrel, fire offhand, doesn't matter. Much cheaper than a PCP and here in NZ any PCP rifle needs an FAC.
Everyone on our farm has a 2240 or 2250. They are awesome.
I REALLY like the 2240. I added a steel breech to mine and made my own custom oak grips.
I have one of these and on targets and close pest work, it’s stunning! Great video Andy. I only discovered your channel a week ago and I’m addicted! Very engaging and utterly informative. Many thanks.
Love the old air guns, got a Webley junior pre-1950s and the excellent Crossman 1322 with a folding stock, new steel breech all mod cons, that gun is nearly as accurate as my Alecto. Some things just work, great Yankee engineering and the old Webley was made in Brum when men were men and sheep were nervous.
Great review my wife bought me one for Christmas a couple of years ago and I've fitted a few GMAC parts the best of which is the steel breach with dove tail mount allowing me to fit a small cheap red dot .I have hours of fun with it just plinking in my back garden and it always puts a smile on my face . Look forward to the service tune up vidio
I own several of these. Most are personally modified by me and do around 12 ft lbs. When you explained how to change the co2 you said to tighten the end cap till it stops hissing, this isn't the way to puncture the powerlet. After cocking the first shot is what punctures the powerlet. I apologize if I missed it in the video. Great review, keep them coming!
Hope you get this..... I just got one and wondered about that the first shot was weak , then I shot again and BOOM ! nice .
I knew about the 1st shot puncture,I shot it once by pure luck it wasnt punctured as I was aiming at the tv lol
I didn't even know you could do that. How would you modify to increase ft/lbs? I didn't think this was possible?
Yeah how do you mod them?
Gotta love the crosmans. I own a modded crosman 1322, a pistol/rifle crossover. I did the gmac valve/piston work, hammer spring, put a customised stock on it were it conceals a survival kit, knife, firesteel, fishing kit and an extra 200 varied ammo all kept in place by a neoprene velcro cheek rest. I added the larger backpacker pumparm, so no pinching the skin whilst pumping, there is also an airarms silencer to quieten her down a good bit, all made possible by the addition on a gmac barrel band silencer adapter. A 3-9x40 illuminated recticle scope allows it to reach out a little further and is very accurate surprisingly. I did the same set up with a 1377 years ago but sold it, due to already having an webley alecto and hatsan supercharger in. 177. It had been advertised for 6 hours before somebody bought it and i had others ringing afterwards, the interest was definetely due to the extra punch of the gmac flat top valve and piston that had been added. Great review as always
All the best from lancashire.
Perfect timing, I'm back into Crosman classic pistols of late. Shooting all my old 13xx guns and 2300.
I've got the 2250, I had to change the plastic breech though to a steel one. Nice and easy mod, 40quid well spent. I've topped mine with a red dot sight and with .22 rws hobby it hits rats around the garden like I've hit them with an invisible mallet. This gun is the ideal tool for anyone with a bird feeder in the garden.
What a bargain and I'll look forward to you doing the "serving and tune up" guide for these pistols. Cheers.
You can remove the grips on the pistol & add the same stock that the rifle uses. It turns the pistol into a handy carbine.
I have found and bought the stock on eBay and I have bought a 24” barrel and it’s getting sent to my local RFD. after that I will get the steel or brass breach, a hammer spring adjuster, trigger spring adjuster, pinned high output valve and after that hopefully I will convert the beast of a rifle into a pcp.
@@p.r5135 what is a RFD ? Im about to order those parts from crosman (breech+24barrel)
Great Video Again Andy, The 2240 is a great pistol and well worth owning. Your remarks on a tune up video is a great idea from someone who will do it right and can be trusted. Please keep up the good work, Best Regards, David
Looking forward to the upgrades and further updates on the 2240 platform. I've recently ordered a new one since watching your videos. Love the content keep up the great work.
just bought one its awsome, shoots well, groups tight, and i have to say the trigger is a door post but its a predictable door post and always breaks in the same place, and by eck its powerull for a co2 pistol, got some mods turning up soon from gmac steel breach, silencer adapter and trigger mod. will try and remeber post my experiance of the mods
I just received one in the mail. 👍 Much nicer than I expected. My intentions were to modify it, but it’s too nice to mess with. I’ll get another later. Very pleased with the accuracy and power.
Superb review, as always Andy.... a gun that I actually have too ! ... you always make my Friday morning mate - thanks and keep up the good work :)
Is the gun really that accurate? If so im buying one!
Bought this today. Very good 2.2 CO pellet gun. Accurate and powerful!
Great review as usual man. Some tuning and maintenance vids would be great. Definitely have my vote on that.
I also have a 2240 slightly modded. It will shoot a 14.9 grn crosman pellet at 477 fps. This is one of my favorite target pistols.
Great review of an elegant Co2 Pistol!
It's kind of like a rifle turned into a pistol...I have a pair of 2240's, one is for when the other is being repaired 😉
I am glad that you mentioned the Crosman 150!
The 150 is a genuine historical air pistol because it is the very first airgun designed to use the 12 gram Co2 cartridge( or "powerlet") , which is still the main Co2 power source for nearly every Co2 AirGun today🔫
I own a "Hawthorne Montgomery Ward M-150" variant of the Crosman 150, which Crosman made for the Department Store that is in absolutely excellent condition...it was bought in 1955, along with a Spice Tin style Crosman tin of 250 .22 cal. SuperPells and 5 "Golden powerlets" of which only 2 powerlets were used before the Co2 Pistol was boxed up and forgotten until 2014, when a Canadian vintage AirGun dealer bought it at an estate sale as a package deal with the 5-pack Crosman "Golden Powerlets" Co2 box and remaining 3 powerlets & nearly full tin of SuperPells included.
He then sold it to me, and told me that after 35 years making a living buying and selling vintage AirGuns, he has never come across a Crosman 150 that was in as close to brand new condition as the one he sold me🔫I did upgrade the gas tube cap black rubber O-ring with a modern light coloured one, and that air pistol shoots like a dream! It even has some definite muzzle flip when shooting.
This is four years old I have four of these bad boys in different configurations and I still watched this video 😂
My dad just ordered the pump .22 version from the crosman custom shop, did an unboxing of it. Turned out really nice : ). Great video as always Andy!
I have two of these. Have fitted a stock to one. Love them and they remind me very much of my pre war webley Mk 1. Solid reliable well engineered tools.
I love this video, love this gun and absolutely love mine! The 2240 is one of the most customizable guns on the market! It's absolutely the most expensive cheap gun you'll ever have the pleasure of owning! I say expensive because the sky's the limit for what you can do with it! Great video my friend!
never buy a 1022 , it will soon be like triggers broom.
it will re educate you as to what expense and custom is all about ,,, lol
brought this pistol with my first pay check back in 2006. still shoots great
Crosman 2240 and a Webley Tempest, only pistols you need in my opinion. Great and informative video 👍
Just thought I would add Andy, your presentation and patter, plus your obvious knowledge of UK guys just interested in plinking with our toys is all quite normal to me, just all fun, always make sure you have permission if not on your own land boys and girls.
2240/50 are legendary, have 3 tuned in various configs. Great ratting guns.
I'd love to seethe up-grade video, as I have just bought some parts for mine and like to see what the 'professionals' can do with it.
Good video. I've never even considered a CO2 gun, preferring springer / pump, but now I'm thinking about buying one of these....
Had one for years , I should use it more often 👍🏻
Cothran Machine makes most major parts of the pistol including the air tube in stainless steel. Top quality stuff. Alchemy Air has some very nice valves that boost your power a bit, kind of a compromise between stock power and blowing your seals out.
Again another great Video. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Most accurate pistol I’ve ever used, can easily light matches at 30ft with no sites 👍🏻
BS
How tf do you light matches with a pellet/bb
Thanks. I was searching exactly for this review since long.
Absolutely excellent pistol. I bought the old, hand-pumped version about 35 years ago. I've still got it and it still performs perfectly. I also bought the wooden rifle-stock at the same time; and I've still got that too. In fact, the only thing I haven't got....is rats!
Lovely review. Smashing little piece, ideal first airgun.
I have subscribed !
And it is very injoy bill !
And thanks for sharing ! ! ! !
Thanks for doing this one.
Thank you for posting
Highly customizable. I got the checkered wood grips, longer barrel and steel breech. Lots more power and more accurate.
Peter Smitt can it kill rats etc?
Yes.
Nice video as always. I have several of them. Powertuned one and got just over 11 fpe out of it :) Its a very easy gun to tune. Take care and have a nice weekend. Cheers Rune :)
I have had a couple of these air pistols and in stock form they both shot the crosmann 14.3 gr pellets at around 440 fps. I think the one you have is just a slightly flawed product. It happens with airguns, my first one started leaking co2 after just a few cylinders , the next one worked well and still does. Yours is just not up to standards thats all. Great review btw
I absolutely love mine. Like you said, it has the undertone of and Ak47. Simple yet solid
I have this gun. The SMK CP1/CP2 are very similar in design. They are probably based on it and have refined it.
My 2240 cost £89 but I’ve probably spent three times that amount pimping it up with GMAC parts . It’s great fun to fire and very accurate. A silencer does help neighbourhood peace in the back garden though.
I’m considering buying another but leaving it in factory state as there is a certain beauty in its simplicity.
I have this too, and like yourself probably spent 3 times the original cost with Gmac custom parts which makes it even better. I also have a laser and holographic sights along with fibre optic fixed sights so plenty of sighting option. It looks like an absolute beast.
I was also thinking about getting one to keep standard too.
I also have the SMK Victory CP2, which I must say is amazing for the price.
Outstanding !
First Class Review, super light, camera and extra ordinaire delivery. Bulls Eye !!!
Hi Andy ,having only got into your reviews 6 months ago still working my way through the back issues and this is another outstanding video I have one of these 2240 which I had for years and only now has it started to loose power and would welcome a tuning video, with 1000s of them on Utube which one do you trust ? and one from your good self I feel could be trusted.
Love mine , changed to steel receiver and bolt from crosman that accepts scope or dovetail sight , added a red dot and target pellets , VERY ACCURATE 🔫 👌
Do you recommand it for rabbit hunting or its not enough powerful ?
Youve tempted me into it! Just the reloading thing compared to a ten shot medley on my vigilante!
A simple but effective pistol another great video Andy
love mine, ideal for plinking.
A rebuild video would be interesting and thanks for the video review.
Would love to see a tune up of the 2250, I keep thinking of getting one for a project gun.
I absolutely love this gun use it for both pest control and plinking. With it set up correctly I can hit a triple AAA battery from about 35ft away it is absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend. Would love to see a tuning video as it would be better than my bodge jobs at tuning 😂
I can hit a 1 penny piece at that range,an more I'm no marksman but with my wiehrauch99s I can snap a matchstick at 50 ft with open sights lol
Great review Andy, you are quit right in your summary, they are a great pistol for back yard plinking, however caution is required,as you mention they are very, very customisable,so much so its very easy to get carried away with 'The Bling' on mine i fit a steel breech & some target grips, suddenly i have spent twice as much as the original purchase price,i have seen & heard of people spending hundreds of pounds on customising their own pistols, which kind of makes a mockery of the original concept................a cheap budget pistol, each to one's own i suppose
From the States - I paid around 100 +shipping for my custom shop build with 18" barrel, stock, steel breech, good trigger setup. Then paid about 50 for a TKO to quiet it down.
Can't wait for the custom shop to reopen and order a pumper version
Nice review. Love your enthusiasm. Subscribed!
Crossman 2240, the most powerful, and accurate pistol i have ever owned. It is the business end of all air pistols. Fantastic gun.
Can I kill rabbits with this pistol ?
@@migusta9393 Of course
migu No, you need a 12ft/1bs air rifle for Rabbit hunting, air pistols should not be used to hunt live quarry
the Crosman 1322 is a much more powerful airgun pistol.
Just bought one for rats and venomous snakes. I have a larger pump action pistol but this allows for faster follow up shots. Nice review.
Love them, got two and they’re unbeatable value if you’re after no frills power and accuracy
Do they use a lot of cannisters..

Great Content And Nice Review On A Classic Co2.. Can Recommend This Crossman...
Brilliant guns, so customisable. Just be careful as it's very easy to send them over the UK limits.
What things can I do to avoid sending it over the power limits??
@@Kingrizz69 what you done so far? Upgraded transfer port?
@@theandybchannel.1819 I’m looking to get one I’ve private land to shoot on. I’ve got an fac air rifle already but essentially wondering what sort of maximum output it has
Yes I think you should do a tuning on that Crosman
I just purchased the XL version… seems like a lot of fun
Thank you so much for sharing.
Great review of a classic air pistol Andy.
I would love to see the tune-up/refurbishment video. I think that would help a lot of people out.
Out of interest, what power do you achieve from the standard 2250?
Is there any way I can use/adapt my 2240 to use an 88g capsule..and can I turn it make it more powerful thanks
@@marklittlewood8817 There used to be a kit that would convert it over to 88g but i remember it being very expensive, dunno if it's still in production. More power comes from more FPS, to keep the same efficiency but gain FPS you need a longer barrel, adding the 18" or even 24" barrel to the 2240 can get you from the low 400s to the the low 500s with 14.3 grain crosman premieres.
Great gun. A tune up video would be great. I have two of the 1322 pump they are very similar
I think I’m sold after listening to your take on this air pistol, and not simply because I like your English accent, which is pretty cool btw. Anyhow, the price is right, which doesn’t make any difference on the remarkable accuracy either.
Thanks for the video just the review I was looking for now I’m more interested in buying it
such a nice pistol i also own 1 myself with wooden grip etc etc and i use it for backup ratting..good clip..
Just the info I was looking for. Tanks.
Yes yes yes yes tune tune tune tune that would be awesome
I have the 2250 Ratcatcher, cracking little rifle, pellet on pellet up to 25 yards, mine is rather overscoped with an AGS Cobalt 4-16x50 AO IR on it .
Stick a laser on it and you can headlamp bunnies - at very close range - in the hedgerows really well :)
Great review 👏
The online shop I'm considering getting this from says the Joules are 10.
How come in these tests with all the various pellets it only manages 6 ?
Hi, i'd love to hear your opinions on the tuning or te rifle
Great, no nonsense review. Any news on the tune up video? Would be very interested in seeing what can be done.
Would be interested in the rifle tuning
Got it, thank you very much. By the way, crosman2240 compare to diana chaser pistol, do you know which one is better? I am a little confused about which one to buy.
Shot quite a few Crosman in my day, everyone dead accurate, and that's from an old git that thinks springers are more skilful. I got a pimped out, pump up version, good enough for the collapsible stock I pimped on it. They all good guns, but real clout and enjoyment always ends up with my HW77, my old friend.
Would love to see a video on tuning them :)
I got two. One with a steel bridge and a boss valve shooting 500 fps and another one with an aluminum valve for HPA a 24" inches barrell ,a suppressor and a folding stock AR style, shooting 25.31 grains slugs at 950 fps giving around 40 FPE. There's so many upgrades it's amazing.
Had one of these for years! Keep promising myself a 1377 to save on CO2 though.
Please do a tuning program, that would be super helpful and maybe I can fix the old one that I have from the mid 80s as well as work on the one I'm buying later today
On Amazon the no frills package is $57 . I bought one and it's great
Very nice review
Thank you so much you legend
Did you ever make a video on tuning the power output for the Crosman 2240? if you did could you let me know how to find your review? Thanking you Brgds Roger
I bought mine only a week ago and I adore it, it’s a nice little pistol but it’s not quite like my BSA ultra SE which has a lane reg but with a bit of love, attentive and elbow grease I’ll have a nice little rat hunting rifle
Great Stuff .....A tuning video would be great
OK, you convinced me. Going to Princess Auto to pick one up for CDN$80.
Have you thought of doing a review of the Gravmag pellet loader for this gun?
In the US, the breech is plastic from the factory. Metal replacements are available in the after market.
Perfect backpacker guns. It only takes one minute breakdown.
