A design classic. If a gun this old is still in production you know it's a winning formula. Will have to get mine out of the locker tomorrow for some target shooting.

Still the proud owner of a 1322 from the 70s. Still works and having added a red dot and stock, it is a handy small rifle as well.

There is a good reason they are still making these. I have several in various states of modification. Great fun for the money. About $60 here in the USA.

I use these in New Zealand for pest control on the farm. Yes, I have a .22LR but I also have neighbours on a couple of boundaries. I took a 2250 barrel (I snapped the donor, don't ask) and put it on, and a scope. Lighter than a 2250 this now does anything I can ask of the. 22LR up to 20m or so. It *can* head shot a rabbit but I suggest not. I came across one that needed putting down or I wouldn't have.
Where this scores huge over a piston gun is that you can fire it from any position without altering the impact point. Rest the barrel, fire offhand, doesn't matter. Much cheaper than a PCP and here in NZ any PCP rifle needs an FAC.
Everyone on our farm has a 2240 or 2250. They are awesome.

Love the old air guns, got a Webley junior pre-1950s and the excellent Crossman 1322 with a folding stock, new steel breech all mod cons, that gun is nearly as accurate as my Alecto. Some things just work, great Yankee engineering and the old Webley was made in Brum when men were men and sheep were nervous.

Great review my wife bought me one for Christmas a couple of years ago and I've fitted a few GMAC parts the best of which is the steel breach with dove tail mount allowing me to fit a small cheap red dot .I have hours of fun with it just plinking in my back garden and it always puts a smile on my face . Look forward to the service tune up vidio

I own several of these. Most are personally modified by me and do around 12 ft lbs. When you explained how to change the co2 you said to tighten the end cap till it stops hissing, this isn't the way to puncture the powerlet. After cocking the first shot is what punctures the powerlet. I apologize if I missed it in the video. Great review, keep them coming!

Gotta love the crosmans. I own a modded crosman 1322, a pistol/rifle crossover. I did the gmac valve/piston work, hammer spring, put a customised stock on it were it conceals a survival kit, knife, firesteel, fishing kit and an extra 200 varied ammo all kept in place by a neoprene velcro cheek rest. I added the larger backpacker pumparm, so no pinching the skin whilst pumping, there is also an airarms silencer to quieten her down a good bit, all made possible by the addition on a gmac barrel band silencer adapter. A 3-9x40 illuminated recticle scope allows it to reach out a little further and is very accurate surprisingly. I did the same set up with a 1377 years ago but sold it, due to already having an webley alecto and hatsan supercharger in. 177. It had been advertised for 6 hours before somebody bought it and i had others ringing afterwards, the interest was definetely due to the extra punch of the gmac flat top valve and piston that had been added. Great review as always
    All the best from lancashire.

I've got the 2250, I had to change the plastic breech though to a steel one. Nice and easy mod, 40quid well spent. I've topped mine with a red dot sight and with .22 rws hobby it hits rats around the garden like I've hit them with an invisible mallet. This gun is the ideal tool for anyone with a bird feeder in the garden.

Great review of an elegant Co2 Pistol!
It's kind of like a rifle turned into a pistol...I have a pair of 2240's, one is for when the other is being repaired 😉
I am glad that you mentioned the Crosman 150!
The 150 is a genuine historical air pistol because it is the very first airgun designed to use the 12 gram Co2 cartridge( or "powerlet") , which is still the main Co2 power source for nearly every Co2 AirGun today🔫
I own a "Hawthorne Montgomery Ward M-150" variant of the Crosman 150, which Crosman made for the Department Store that is in absolutely excellent condition...it was bought in 1955, along with a Spice Tin style Crosman tin of 250 .22 cal. SuperPells and 5 "Golden powerlets" of which only 2 powerlets were used before the Co2 Pistol was boxed up and forgotten until 2014, when a Canadian vintage AirGun dealer bought it at an estate sale as a package deal with the 5-pack Crosman "Golden Powerlets" Co2 box and remaining 3 powerlets & nearly full tin of SuperPells included.
He then sold it to me, and told me that after 35 years making a living buying and selling vintage AirGuns, he has never come across a Crosman 150 that was in as close to brand new condition as the one he sold me🔫I did upgrade the gas tube cap black rubber O-ring with a modern light coloured one, and that air pistol shoots like a dream! It even has some definite muzzle flip when shooting.

I have had a couple of these air pistols and in stock form they both shot the crosmann 14.3 gr pellets at around 440 fps. I think the one you have is just a slightly flawed product. It happens with airguns, my first one started leaking co2 after just a few cylinders , the next one worked well and still does. Yours is just not up to standards thats all. Great review btw

I have this gun. The SMK CP1/CP2 are very similar in design. They are probably based on it and have refined it.
My 2240 cost £89 but I’ve probably spent three times that amount pimping it up with GMAC parts . It’s great fun to fire and very accurate. A silencer does help neighbourhood peace in the back garden though.
I’m considering buying another but leaving it in factory state as there is a certain beauty in its simplicity.

I have this too, and like yourself probably spent 3 times the original cost with Gmac custom parts which makes it even better. I also have a laser and holographic sights along with fibre optic fixed sights so plenty of sighting option. It looks like an absolute beast.
I was also thinking about getting one to keep standard too.
I also have the SMK Victory CP2, which I must say is amazing for the price.

Great review Andy, you are quit right in your summary, they are a great pistol for back yard plinking, however caution is required,as you mention they are very, very customisable,so much so its very easy to get carried away with 'The Bling' on mine i fit a steel breech & some target grips, suddenly i have spent twice as much as the original purchase price,i have seen & heard of people spending hundreds of pounds on customising their own pistols, which kind of makes a mockery of the original concept................a cheap budget pistol, each to one's own i suppose

@@marklittlewood8817 There used to be a kit that would convert it over to 88g but i remember it being very expensive, dunno if it's still in production. More power comes from more FPS, to keep the same efficiency but gain FPS you need a longer barrel, adding the 18" or even 24" barrel to the 2240 can get you from the low 400s to the the low 500s with 14.3 grain crosman premieres.

The online shop I'm considering getting this from says the Joules are 10.
How come in these tests with all the various pellets it only manages 6 ?

Great, no nonsense review. Any news on the tune up video? Would be very interested in seeing what can be done.

Got it, thank you very much. By the way, crosman2240 compare to diana chaser pistol, do you know which one is better? I am a little confused about which one to buy.

Shot quite a few Crosman in my day, everyone dead accurate, and that's from an old git that thinks springers are more skilful. I got a pimped out, pump up version, good enough for the collapsible stock I pimped on it. They all good guns, but real clout and enjoyment always ends up with my HW77, my old friend.

I got two. One with a steel bridge and a boss valve shooting 500 fps and another one with an aluminum valve for HPA a 24" inches barrell ,a suppressor and a folding stock AR style, shooting 25.31 grains slugs at 950 fps giving around 40 FPE. There's so many upgrades it's amazing.

Had one of these for years! Keep promising myself a 1377 to save on CO2 though.

Please do a tuning program, that would be super helpful and maybe I can fix the old one that I have from the mid 80s as well as work on the one I'm buying later today

I bought mine only a week ago and I adore it, it’s a nice little pistol but it’s not quite like my BSA ultra SE which has a lane reg but with a bit of love, attentive and elbow grease I’ll have a nice little rat hunting rifle

Have you thought of doing a review of the Gravmag pellet loader for this gun?

In the US, the breech is plastic from the factory. Metal replacements are available in the after market.
