@@UwUAveythyst I think no burn-in is the best part of LCD. Especially when it comes to cell phones used where the screen in on for long periods of time. Examples are people that use their phones for navigation like Uber. I personally leave my phone almost all the time. It stays turned on in the car and while it sitting in the cradle at my desk or in the cradle next to the bed. (It's my night stand clock and alarm) No need for a separate clock when my phone does the job. Apple and Samsung phone suck bad with screen burn which makes them useless after 90 days of my use. I currently use a Moto g power 2021 with an ips/lcd screen and it works wonderfully and only cost $200 USD. Suck on that Apple and Samsung.

I just picked up an LG OLED C8 and alot of my friends and family ask why it costs so much. But the technical talk bores them, so I'm glad you could simplify the basics of an OLED.
How is your OLED now and do you have any lessons or tips for me? I never used an OLED but I worry about the limited brightness in a well lit room, burn in, and degradation over time. Is your TV still as good as when you bought it? Is the brightness good in a well lit room?
@@shmookins I still have my OLED and I use it almost every day for gaming and watching Netflix and such. I've had absolutely no burn in issues at all with mine. Actually, the worst my screen looks is when I get fingerprints on it when adjusting it on the wall mount lol. Strictly speaking an LED screen is a kind of LCD screen. The quality of the blacks has much more to do with the kind of LCD panel used (TN or STN etc.) than with the kind of back-light used (fluorescent or LED). Most LED screens just have one row of white LEDs and a diffuser to spread the light over the whole of the back of the LCD panel, hence they do not have the ability to dim or switch off the back light in areas where black is needed, that would be an extra feature above and beyond the screen just being an LED screen.

I am looking to buy only an led monitor but the manual says its LCD with LED backlighting. Any difference in picture quality? Or Are all LED panels are just LCD panels with led backlight..in technology?
an LED panel is an LCD panel with LED backlight, as mentioned in the video. This gives it the advantage of being lighter and thinner, and also the ability to control the backlight regionally on some models, making dark areas look more realistic. True LED panels do exist, those are the kind of thing where the pixels actually consist of LEDs. They're the kind of massive screen usually used at events and such.

LED is LCD. Older LCDs used CCFL for backlighting which is why they were fatter until LED backlighting replaced them due to there size.
