Yep flagship TVs are a fraction of what they were years ago. It’s the only consumer product on the planet where we have gained ground last 20- 30 years. A crappy tv 20 odd years ago was a K. Now a K almost gets you something like a 65 inch Full Array Sony X90L.
Oh snap my comment got screenshot. 🤣 But when I said TVs have gotten complicated, I was talking about the fact that I you used to just bring it home, plug it in, and turn it on, then plug in your STBs or antennas. Now you gotta sign up for a Roku account, or whatever streaming account you have.
I looked up the models you described and it looks like the bravia is a mini-LED and the a80 is an OLED That's a simple answer: If the room the TV is going into is very bright (when you are actually watching), then go mini-LED, if you can control the ambient lighting, go OLED. Nice video Jon, in reality, the tech behind the tv is great but sitting on a couch at typical distance from the tv per the size of it, would you really need the flashiest tv to watch let's say an NBA game broadcasting at 720p or 1080p? I understand the advantages but do you get advantages when you watch odder tv shows/movies on streaming services with the added picture tech or could the colors look off? TVs are an important purchase but for streaming from subscriptions services, I do wonder if it is really worth dropping the big $$$ on a higher end tv? Keep up the good work!
Compared to the price of televisions in the 50s and 60s todays flat panel sets are ridiculously low priced. Paying $400 for a television in 1960 would be like paying $2,800 for a television today. My father clothed and fed a family of five kids on $80 a week in 1960. We didn't have a television in our house until 1966. I didn't own a color television until 1979. Paying $400 for a television in 2024 is about the same as paying $80 for a brand new set in 1960.
Really bro an LED tv is just a LCD tv with led backlight its the same tech not sure what point you are trying to make. Here is a tip next time say lcd vs plasma vs oled, you know different tech..
LCD is what boomer customers who are technologically illiterate avoid and LED is what you give them while not bringing attention to the fact that they also say LCD in the fine print.
Don't watch TV. No Cable or Antenna. Computer all the way. But these TV's you talk about or no good for gaming thru a Computer. Ah thing called Burn In.
Tv's use the same tech as monitors. There's no more of a burn in risk than from an equivalent monitor. Plus Tv's aren't just for Cable, I use mine with my PC.
tv's are not too expensive. the one thing that has been decreasing in price compared to inflation are tv's they are the cheapest they have ever been

Yes bro monitors are 3 times expensive than TV's
Litteraly stick the word monitor in it and it's double the price

You still arent wrong!
Which 65 or 75 inch TV will last me the longest ?
Depends on your use. All are really good nowadays
QLED all the way. I love my 65" VIZIO QLED TV.
It's gonna break in 2 years
@@campfiresong naw.
Oled are better
@@fkqz If he thinks a Vizio TV is good, there's no hope of convincing him of OLED's superior technology
All Vizio TVs are CRAP!!!!!! Really?
Will a cheap Qled TV last 10 years ? Will a more expensive Qled last longer ?

Have a led monitor and I think it’s superior to LCD.Better black levels and contrast is better.
Can we get chapters please :)
We'll look to add them

I just understood TV, thank you very much. These LG and Samsung proprietary name for their tech always confused me.

How is there confusion on this fact, LED, QLED, MiniLED are LCD displays with different backlight technology.
He's says that at around 3:00
Very informative video. True LED tv is insane. They are still sci fi for most people.
LCD is what boomer customers who are technologically illiterate avoid and LED is what you give them while not bringing attention to the fact that they also say LCD in the fine print.
200k tv?!
The answer Is OLED you will never go back
it's like a movie ..... i need to watch this again......lol
Dumb video. All qned, qled, whatever tv's are Led tv's and all LCD tv's currently on market are Led tv's.
Says that in the video.
Next time show an actual comparison instead of wasting our time talking for 11 mins

Burn in is not really an issue anymore most of these TVs are pretty well calibrated to get around that not to mention they have pixel shifting
