@docrw I would think so. Most folks on here are amateurs giving advice out to people without any proper qualification or legitimate credentials like this Dr has.
Columnarize means make the fruiting branch long and slender without side braching... perhaps only 3 feet long with only fruit buds or spurs on them...😅

Dr is new at it too spindle bush has only been around in canada since mid late 1990 but much longer in europe

Spur varieties starkrimson red spur delicious need less space as opposed to Cortland which needs more
Each branch is then columnarize, without scaffold branches having fruits, to improve light distribution
In other words no laterals on a branch
Branch laterals r pruned back to a stub in June to promote more fruiting that's were the Dutch r at now Americans have not caught on to this yet
