I really didn't expect that to be the original wedge! That thing has taken a sick beating over the years. I'm also amazed the frame hasn't been hit that badly, good driving I guess!
I havent had electronics or batterie damage since i casted all components in heat resistant silicone. It can take heat up to 350.C and a 5.0 Kg bucket costs less than 50€.

This is a beautiful design I love it!!!
Awesome video man. Definitely one of my favorite bots.
Happy late birthday Kevin! Thanks again for taking the time to make this video!
Thanks, glad you appreciate the video!
These breakdown videos are great, Kevin. Have you thought about making more for your other robots?
Thanks! Yes, there will be more and they will be better. However it's going to be awhile, I've got a lot going on now.
Too bad they don’t run lightweight competitions anymore. (Battlebots needs to bring back the other weight classes.)
Yes this will encourage more people who don't have money like that to join battlebots
Kevin, how many teeth are you running on the sprockets and what are you using for hubs on the Colsons?
Kelly Smith Team Rockitz
They are 16T aluminum VEX sprockets. The hubs are custom, a simple press fit design. There is a picture of them on the FB page.
If the 3/8" rod I was using with my weapon gets bent, would you just recommend replacing the rod as a whole versus attempting to straighten it?
Yeah, rod is cheap.
What's the reduction of the gearbox?
The DeWalts are 45.9375 : 1 in low gear which is what I use.
Instead of wrapping and protecting everything with foam, you should cast it all in plastic or resin.
That would be:
1. Heavy
2. Impossible to replace burned up components
3. No airflow to keep things cool
4. Expensive

Karl, what are the down-sides of using foam?
Karl Napp but pool noodles
looks a lot like bite force
LOL
I hope you know now that its the opposite
