- The home renovation continues at Chateau de Borie this week with the plasterwork finished in two of the bedrooms allowing me to get a little daring with some paint colors!

Painting to ceiling will make room look taller. Everything doesn’t have to look authentic. Just needs to be attractive. Do what you please. It belongs to you and you have the taste to pull it off Love your chateau

I love the paint color, but I think you need to bring in something with a pattern, either on the drapery or bedding, or the same fabric on both. And then using a second solid color that you can pick out of the bedding or drapes, in the upholstery of the seating. It will be a beautiful room! ❤️😊

Your fountain isgreat ! It is so lovely... Regarding the blue question, definitely do all the walls. I did a TOTAL LOOK (walls and ceiling) dark blue in my dining room in my bed and breakast and I always get compliments about this room. Any art (paintings or other) you will hang on these walls will look fantastic because of the dark background.

My husband and I painted an accent wall in our bedroom this dark blue and we love it ! Don’t judge until you accessorize it ! Agreed that it’s not for everyone but if you love it it’s for you.
You constantly question yourself. Stop. You got this. It is your son's room, and the dark blur will be awesome with your ideas for gold accessories. I look forward to seeing that fountain in. First off...love the blue head scarf on you. So chic. The kitchen hardware is stunning and im cheering for you on a wonderful solution for the mosquito nest and ecstatic about the water fountain. Too many diseases too count with mosquitos. Glad you have company, too.

I love the kitchen hardware. Much better than the store brand. Heft and beauty combined. Great choice. The color in the ⭐️ room is nice and relaxing. He may sleep until the afternoons. I love the blue my blue room was lighter but I would use this one. Loved see the all the places for the wine tasting. The umbrellas and than those sun flowers my favorite flower. The light fixture is awesome. Have fun.
Ah! Abby the Chipmunk is back! Thank you for making me laugh. I had once painted all 4 walls in the bedroom a dark burnt orange color. It made the room look small and claustrophobic. So, I went back and white prime 3 walls. Then used a lighter colour of yellow (same hue). It was perfect! Conclusion: 1 dark accent wall with 3 lighter colour with same hue.

Love that blue for your son….together with the rich wood brown of the bed and with golden accents, it could be a great room for your gentleman son! Support for the strong men growing in this world is a very wonderful task nowadays!

Yes! Finally a lovely dark bluish teal for the eyes to rest on. Perfect. And don’t be afraid to paint all the walls. You’ll find that this will be coziest room in the house depending on where the sun is located. Frankly, my days of wallpaper are over. I much prefer to hang paintings and mirrors on our walls. Like pillows on sofas, paintings can be swapped out and repositioned to give a whole new perspective to a room. My two cents. …;-) about the gold accents… on my laptop the bed seems to have a mahogany color to it. If so then consider copper color metallic. Or consider the wine colors you’ve been drinking. I like the white border at the top of the wall. And I LOVE the fountain!!

Love love the blue.❤ I would paint everything blue including the ceiling. The room can take it. Add textures, print, lighting to balance the room. Add plants to bring nature inside.

No gold bedding with blue accents...blue curtains with gold accents
Unikalo is the BEST paint you can buy in France. We painted our 3-story Maison de Maitre in Unikalo paint. More expensive than crappy French paint that takes 5 coats, but 1-2 coats and you’re done, so you end up spending considerably less.
BTW, we used that exact color in the master bath, I believe it’s called Architecture BUT, fair warning, when your hands touch the wall they will leave behind like white marks. So maybe consider your second coat in a satin so it’s easily wipeable. Nonetheless, the color is FABULOUS!!! Your son and you will love it!

The blue in the etoile room is great. The gold accents will look nice as well. The question is "Do you like it? I bet your son will. Leave the white above, it looks like that's the way it should be.

It’s an amazing color. You have so much light in you part of France, the walls can take the saturation. I like the color stopping mid wall.. it raises your ceiling. But whatever you do will be beautiful!

❤Its great to bring a friend to another country , u have to get her hocked onto Brocante shopping lol . Kitchen hardware looks neat love that style if taps and cupboard door handles . I guess if u keep the skirting and wardrobe, windows and trim white or off white it work but it make that room look and feel much darker . I think being a Chateau and your being very elegant I would of used wallpaper because the rooms do not have wall panelling which bring detail to each room so by using wallpaper u add detail and keep the elegant look and not make it look so block coloured. Even if u just paint the headboard end and wallpaper the rest but its yr Chateau we just here to comment 😊Hello Chloe 🏀 .

Love the navy please consider installing a moulding and paint it navy between the white and navy wall. Also paint the inner door navy and the door frame. A woven colourful rug under the bed to ground the room. Love, love, love!

Blue is chateau worthy, brass- gold light fittings. If it’s your sons room, rust colour, old gold and the same blue accents, picked up in bedding, rugs, lamp shades,fringes, tie backs ect. Will definitely give a wow factor to the room. Have fun and never be afraid of using colour, you can always paint over it. I think you will be very happy with the end result. That's a very pretty blue. I'm not a fan of the whole room that color, kinda depressing. But, it's your home so you do what you feel is right. I'll love it no matter what you do.❤
Love the dark blue - it really shows off that beautiful headboard. Adding some gilt fixtures or other accessories will definitely make it rich and opulent. A matching toile de joie fabric would look nice also. White is so ordinary and expected. Leaving that border at the top gives the illusion of crown molding, which you could always add later if you so chose. A bold choice for sure but I think it will look awesome.

Maybe add a small trim board at the top of the blue to finish the edge off - in gold to match the curtains. I like the color.

Great choice on the kitchen hardware and the paint.... Very nice and a good look! MMMM I think the border will look good if it goes all the way around the room... Add old gold silk with dark blue in a stripe for the formal bedding, a floral of the same colors for pillow shams.... you can add the stripe to the drapes as a border on the old gold silk! That will be a royal room. Blue trim or use gold fringe. Glam it up!

Go with the blue walls (you can always wallpaper a wall laterr if you think it's just too much), since it is your son's room, keep it more masculine (no florals!), I would swap that chandelier out (it is too small for that room), look for a larger antique brass style (not all those crystals!), keep the white area above blue that you have. Go with brass bedside lamps, brass curtain holdbacks if you have tasseled drapes. Brass curtain hardware. Save the gold for somewhere else! Keep it a bit more toned down. The kitchen hardware looks fabulous! Love the idea of the fountain!

I like the dark blue. It's a rich color and will be beautiful when you tie in all of the other features. Lighting will play a big part too.

White sheets are always a winner especially as a possible B&B or retreat.
One wall is enough. Dark blue curtains with golden accents will carry the dark color perfectly. Use metal bed side lamps and even perhaps metal bed side stand in a gold metal color Great job. Love your channel.

I love the colorful umbrellas hanging over the street! So cute! Etoile, what a cool name for your sons room. I love the color, and your ideas. The first thing that came to my mind was a big, multi-pointed, gold leafed star in and unexpected place on the blue wall. Not like a 5-point star, but a star with some long points, some short, different medium sizes. I think it would look so cool, and beautiful. I'm excited that you're getting a fountain! Great color for room and lovely locations for wine tastings. Double check each location has a wine that has a low formaldehyde content in their wine for people like me who are sensitive. Can cause migraines.
Most wines in France don’t have preservatives. They only get added to wines that are exported.

That's a great color for the bedroom. I'm a huge fan of and use bold colors in bedrooms as well as bathrooms. I always have a black room in my houses.

As far as the paint goes. If you like it that is what counts. Perhaps one one wallpapered will make is stand out. I would not go to the ceiling, like the whit edge on the top. When the light from the window hits the paint, you can see the navy. It will look great when it’s done!

Take the blue to the ceiling. It makes the walls look taller. Consider painting the baseboards, window frames, and doors, the same color rather than white. If not that, then gray. Looking good!
