@@CourtneyHoelscher Hi, Courtney. Would it be possible for you to add the full descriptive name to the colors you use. For example, Iridescent Gold is listed with three different part numbers; Iridescent Gold (Fine), Iridescent Bright Gold (Fine) and Iridescent gold Deep (Fine). I purchased Iridescent Gold (Fine), is this okay? Thanks.
Fridays should always be celebrated, but I 'calls it as I sees it' darlin girl... You got this technique and you should name it. It reminds me of metal and the drips the nail heads etc. Whatever it is...it's kickass...jus sayin... :0)
Courtney, this is a beautiful piece! I miss seeing you create your beautiful swipes and I truly miss your tidbits of teaching that you throw into your videos. I hope that all is well with you 💞 Please consider doing more videos!
My Queen, I bow to your brilliance. This weekend--JAN-18, I will try it, with this demo as the starting point. I saw most of your recent demos, this one I fell in love with.....LESS IS BEST, with experience of course, You are magical. Thank you Your Highness.
I cant wait for a collab between you & Carhleen !!! It will give a while new meaning to the word AMAZING !!! I also can not even pick a favorite out of all your videos I have seen so far (still getting caught up lol). I LOVE them all . I did 2 small versions of Cathleens Ripple Swipe & I cant wait to try a couple of yours !!! You are both so very talented & creative & Big Mama is beautiful !!!! Thanks so much for sharing & for all the effort that goes into making each video to share with all of us and all the info you provide for each piece . I cant wait for Cathleens channel also to watch her in action but at least for now we can view some of her amazing work on her Facebook page Coz Creations !!! I love the Bob Ross quote you put at the start of the video. You, Cathleen & the Bob Ross quote are a huge trio of inspiration. Thank you !!!!! 😉😉😉😉😘😘😘😘💙💙💙💙💙💙
I forgot to ask, is your base colour always the same consistency as your swipe colours, or a bit thicker. If thicker what would the pm to paint ratio be? Again, your work totally hits the spot for me. I love it!
Fantastic colours and are my favourite colour combos also! I would also like to thank you also for the oyster video, and providing the colour combos there. I tried it myself and pretty happy with it. Thank you, & keep up the beautiful work👏🏼❤️👌
Hi Courtney. Here in Portugal, Floetrol, Gac and Iridiscent colors, are not avilable. Import these material is very expensive. What kind of material can I use to replace these? At the moment I use wood glue (before I use school glue. Same efect) and water for the acrylics. The acrylics are the normal ones in tubes for painting. Thanks in advance and keep going with the wonderful works
Love love love this! You are a master of swipes! Just started watching Coz and your sidekick is doing extremely well too. I love the swipes I think better than anything and yours are the best! I am practicing with your recipe, your technique and your attitude. Thanks for sharing.
I am so inspired by this one that I have to do it today. I love the industrial look of this one. Not usually into that so much but this one inspires me. Thank you so much for sharing. Just stunning!
Just another reason I love abstract art. My husband looks at this and sees a hedge row full of trees with reflection. I see an industrial loft with some grunge and rust. We both find it stunning. Win-win!
YES! I could stare at abstract art forever for that reason. So much to see and unsee and search for. It gives the mind peace and quiet but with focus. If you try it, please send me pictures through instagram! or on my facebook page!
I so love this!!!!😍 The silver for the base coat you are using. What color is it? Is it acrylic as well and how mixed. Just wondering where I would get such a good amount of whatever this is :-)
I'm so excited! It radiates (for me) such a calm that I look at it again and again! And, as I'm still learning, I also have a question: do the colors and the gray color for the substrate have the same consistency? I see, the colors are very thin. Underground, I can not recognize that so exactly. And that's important to get the effect that you can admire in your fantastic work. Thanks for sharing and the detailed information that will always help me a little bit further.
I have enjoyed so many of your paintings/videos and found a lot of inspiration in color composition! Thank you so much! I do have one question. What consistency do you look for with your swipes. I've only done a few with this technique and they always end up too thick or too thin. 😔 Also, is your base the same consistency as the paints you drizzle on?
Courtney Hoelscher 😃 That is true! And sometimes you just need a little push and your work has inspired me! Thank you❣️I will let you know how it turned out 🤞🏻🤞🏻😬😁 ( and now I have the song stuck in my head hahahahhaa 🤣 )
So just heard from Julie from Pouring Your Hearts Out you are the Queen along with I think Carol of this technique. Are all the paints thin? I’ve tried so hard to do it. I think my paint is too thick. And like Julie uses plastic paint sample cards. Help!!!love this
I really appreciate her giving us (me and Cathleen Ozmore) credit for what she has renamed as ghost pour. Yes, my paints are super thin as they are the Golden FLUID line of pigments, about the consistency of craft paint but with a much higher pigment load. I'll try to find the link to my recipe tutorial.
My pouring mediums are GAC 800 and FLood Floetrol. I have a tutorial video about my paint mix. You can find it as the featured video on my channel page.
I love your work. I have tried some but they don't come out quite as pretty as yours. I have a question for you. Can I paint over a painting that has been varnished? Thanks
I have painted over resin before. There might be more of an issue with crazing (cracking) since the paint can't breath from underneath. You might also want to do a light sanding to give the paint something to adhere to... Is it oil based? If not, should be ok.
Wowwwwww! It’s stunning! Big Mama is really biggggg!!!!! 60 x 120 cms! Incredible ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🏆😍👩🏻🎨🖼👏👏👏🥰. Question : Golden C.T.Interference Green-Blue? What is it? How can I use? Because was a gift from a store (a sample) ... Big hug for you pretty Courtney! 😘✨🤩
Thanks! Ooh! "Int. Green-blue" is fun. It'll have a shimmer from one direction that looks blue, but you look at it from another angle and it look green. It looks milky white when wet but will dry clear, so you can use it as a top coat. So try adding a little extra flair to a painting you already have by painting this over the top in some areas.
Beautiful- I love the areas where the paper toweling "skipped" leaving more negative space and interest. That silver you did the background with-what would you say the cost of the GAC800 and the paint? I still have some of the colors you use but never used them bc the bottle is so tiny... I used half my GAC800 on 8 paintings I did in my garage which ended up cracking due to heat and humidity.. Had to trow them all out....Its very expensive stuff. Seems on a painting your size it would be at least 20.00 just in GAC for that background... BTW these colors are very current fro home furnishings as gray and white are "in"...
Hmm. I don't know the price for this size. I try not to think about it. I hate to hear your paintings cracked with the GAC 800. I feel like that is part of the main reason I use it, bc it prevents cracking and makes the finish so nice.
@@CourtneyHoelscher Maybe bc I'm not using Golden paints and its too thick. I am not using nearly as much GAC800 as you do, especially wen I did 8 canvases 18x24 each. Just the way you had to tilt the last painting ...too much paint accumulates and when you have a nice design you don't want to ruin it with tilting, but sometimes it's necessary. In the ones that cracked, clearly too much paint. I noticed I am getting lots of cracking since I stopped using house paint white. the fumes were giving me headaches.
Wow so beautiful
Stunning 😍
