Bro this is hands down the best removal video on RUclips. I looked at a bunch this is by far the best explanation of all the clips and tricks
Thanks I really appreciate the compliment.
One of the few cases where it’s easier putting it back together than it is tearing it apart
lol
I ordered the wrong part and didn’t even realize it and enfig called me as soon as they saw my ordered and just by looking at it Christian realized I ordered the wrong stuff and over the phone fixed my issue and sent me the right stuff. Me and my girlfriend both shocked by the amazing service. I had only just ordered them last night at 1 am
Thanks. We try to avoid mistakes. It really sucks when your ready to do an install and you have the wrong stuff.
Glad I saw this video before I purchased an Eonon. I bought the installation kit from Enfig that includes everything you need to install without cutting any wires. Install took my about an hour and was very straightforward. I even drilled a hole in the climate control relocation kit, down where the ashtray used to be and installed a flush USB extender. Routing the microphone was actually super easy all you need to do is unscrew your instrument cluster enough to pull the mic wire through and you have it in a pretty convenient location.
Thanks for the video and all the parts i needed Enfig!
Thanks!!!
How are you liking the unit?
You're awesome, thanks for letting me know that this is a painful, yet simple process!
lol You're welcome.
YESS ITS SO HARD TO FIND THIS LAYOUT OMG THANK YOUU
Glad it made your day
Thank you Enfig, I purchased the whole kit from your site along with the XAV5000 option. I followed your video instructions to install. Worked great, all of the tips were very helpful. Thanks very much for putting this together. Also, the unit runs fantastic, the sound from the HK system is much improved over the stock Business CD. I don't know what they were thinking. I was quite surprised with the sound quality. It's also neat to have bluetooth, extra media USB and car play/spotify. Great unit and it fit great in my M3.
Thank you. I'm glad you like the kit. It truly is a huge improvement compared to the factory system.
Excellent walkthrough, the installation was clean and the assistance to program the steering wheel controls was very nice. The little lose trim piece under the radio is just a manufacturer defect with the plastic, I believe a little piece of double sided tape will take care of that. That you very much for the instructional video
Thanks. I just wrap the white ends with electrical tape and it does not wiggle. I have never head a complaint except how it makes people feel that it's there.
Anyone owning a BMW for its design and concept will die a little seeing this radio being installed.
lol I get it. I have a OEM MD player in my 2003 Bora for looks. But in my other cars all have aftermarket radios.
@@Enfig there are aftermarket radios, that replicate the OEM look but have way more functionality :)
@@_J.P._ If there was an OEM fit radio that was as reliable as this Sony I would sell it. And let's be honest, most of the OEM fit radios look a little cheap.
if you want to have good audi in your bmw this is only way to do it

Great Video! Gonna be installing mine in a few days, glad that you uploaded this awesome tutorial!

Did you install the kit and sony systems. whats your feedback?
I’m subscribed and loving this video. Extremely happy I found this video.
Thank you
Seriously well made video, super professional. Props to you man 👍🏻
Thanks I really appreciate it. 🙏🙏
This car is for sale for like 3 grand by a private seller in my neighborhood. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. It has like 144,000 kilometers no rust and in mint condition
Get it! Then get this radio lol
Way too much work, just to upgrade the stereo, props to you man. Great video, I'll just continue using my Bluetooth on my e46 😆
lol thanks
I had to reply again, i ended breaking down and buying eonon, i put it in without the bracket, luckily my AC fit like a charm and doesnt move at all in the bottom slot. Still give you props for having the patience to do all that work, i surely don't lol
@@oscarsanz4434 We can sell you the relocation bracket alone so its not just wedged in there.

Solid work and amazing patient voice coaching... Made it look so easy. Im gonna pick up one of these cars and this is def gonna be installed. Thank you so much 👍🏻
You're welcome! and Thanks! Especially since I never like how I sound lol.
How did it end up going
I watched you scratch the leather surround not even a second after you told the camera to be careful not to scratch the leather lol.
If you mean at 14:00 that's actually years of crud that tell off the ashtray. BMW leather is pretty tough.
Thanks for the advice, great video!
Thanks!
Beautiful work man
Thanks I appreciate it.
Great video! I’m doing a similar install next week and this was very helpful. 💪🏼
Thanks! Hopefully you got all your parts from us 😁
I thought you could fit the climate control straight into the gap left by that storage pocket you removed? I'm sure I've seen it done like that and kept the ash tray.
No but there is a more expensive BMW relocation part that comes with cars that had navigation.
good body but which store can we get the sony radio ?
This is an older radio but the new XAV-AX5000 and XAV-AX1000 install the same.
Fucking good bro holy shit this was great!
lol thanks man
MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS OFF (in case he didn’t mention in the video)May cause shortage
I usually do not recommend disconnecting the battery but in this video it might not be a bad idea. As long as the key is off you shouldn't run into any problems. Since so many things are being disconnected it makes sense. But it is not necessary.

lol that was crud that dropped.
Nice and clean install!👏👏👍
Thanks man.
Wish I saw this before buying my inferior Eonon GA8150A unit. This does not have quite the factory look as compare to the Eonon. But I’m sure the quality is better and it’s a lot less buggy than the Eonon.
I did notice that the trim price is lose on the bottom (you were able to push on it with your fingers). Were you going to secure that in any way for the customer by chance?
If you mean the trim piece over the radio. A little tape on the white plastic tabs holds it a little better but it does not move when the car is moving so it's not an issue.
Eonon crap?
Yes, I would stay away from it if you’re looking for something reliable and with decent build and software quality.
Very helpful video
Thanks.
Really nice install and very clean. I'm looking to replace my BMW nav setup with an aftermarket radio and stumble across your video. I have a 2005 330cic with the H/K navigation setup. How different would the install be for my car? I assume that all the relocation of the climate control and stuff wouldn't be needed since I have the opening for a double din already. Would your install kit also work for other company head units like a Yamaha? Thanks!
Only when you have factory navigation the radio is in the trunk and you need to run wires to the trunk. Email us for more info. I don't want to confuse everyone else.
Blaupunkt? Here in Europe we call it an ISO connector as it is conform ISO 10487. See also more info on car radio connectors here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connectors_for_car_audio
Also the connector BMW uses is called a Quadlock connector as stated in the earlier wikipedia page.
You are correct. We originally called i Blaupunkt since it was designed for Blaupunkt radios. We have started using the term ISO because the word Blaupunkt was confusing customers.
The radio in this car does not have a quadlock. Later navigation radios and 2007+ 3 series had a quadlock. In the car audio industry its known as round BMW radio connector. If you happen to find the proper terminology that would be GREAT!!!
Is it a T10 or a T15 for the Climate Control. Super Great video!
Thanks. I honestly do not remember.
Christian, would the new Sony XAV-AX5000 work with a 2002 E46? It seems that the newer model actually has a shorter depth (relative to the AX100) and should actually be an easier install.
The XAV-AX5000 uses all the same parts.
@enfig I am ordering your dash kit.. would this exact wiring harness/adapter work with any aftermarket stereo? Great video, thanks man!
When you go on the site it asks you what radio you are installing at the top of the page. If the radio is no listed send us an email.
Nice job luck excellent
Thanks
If someone had installed an aux kit into the main harness, would that cause any issues using the enfig harness? Thank you! Your videos are the best.
Thanks I appreciate it.! No all the aux plug into the bottom ports of the radio. Those are not even used for a radio install.
Sony only suggest a 3 wire adapter for steering controls. Called the RC-SR1. Input 1, input 2 and Ground. They don't mention anything about that black box controller. My unit is hard wired into the car. It is a BMW e46 and the wiring loom has one I-BUS wire that the steering wheel sends the messages to. Where do these 3 wires go?
The BMW i-Bus is a data signal. That is why you need our black box. In a car with resistance based controls like older Honda's you can use the included 3 wire adapter that is supplied with some Sony radios.
Well detail package.
Thanks!
Will this sony reciever model fit in my bmw 2000 323i? Installers are having having to cut, or the kit will protrude. This Sony looks thinner on the back end, which may work?
Since the bottom of the radio is thin it slides right over the air box and does not require cutting. We have a different kit that protrudes so you can fit a regular sized radio but I think this looks much better.
Good video! I still ended up breaking some parts so fucking pissed but this video helped do it by myself and not pay anyone for it. Also use then funny plastic tools. Its all you need
Sorry to hear about the broken parts.
I’m scared to do this myself I’m afraid I’ll end up cracking the wooden trim panels
@@crodaas6086 Its a good idea not to do it if is not something you are comfortable with. I'm sure a reputable local shop would have no problem doing this job.

Hi, just got myself an e46 but not really too happy with the radio , my question is, what other sony models is out there for this vehicle preferably with navigation?, great video
This and the Ax-5000 are the only ones that fit without cutting the air box. All other radios work but the air box behind the radio must be cut.
Hey great video here is my challenge I have a 1999 BMW e38 740i and want an android unit or a Sony unit like this on it with the steering control all working. Will it fit. Does this unit have a USB port and can it play video
They have USB but no video input. A E38 7-Series is a much more complicated install.
I always test the radio as soon as it’s plugged in. It could have a factory defect.
That does make sense. But when you install name brands like Sony and Pioneer that almost never happens so I usually do not test until right before I put things back together. And that's to make sure the installation is 100%.Microphone and steering wheel control plugs fall out all the time. In 20 years I honestly don't remember a name brand radio being bad out of the box unless the radio was used. But in that case I test them on the bench before I even touch the car.
Hi, is this work on 1998 E46 318i? Mine radio read tape.
Also, do you ship to Taiwan?
Thanks, btw great video!
The antenna adapter is different. The rest of the parts are the same. We can ship you the parts but not the radio.
Hi, I just completed the install on my 2000 BMW 323i Touring. Everything went together great and the radio is functioning along with radio controls, except i have no sound coming from my speakers. Would there be any hints you could provide as to where to look in the wiring or anything missed in the video? Thanks!!
Sounds like you did not connect the Amplifier turn on wire. We changed the wiring after this video. It should have a pink sticker on it that says must be connected.
Perfect video! Does this work with the new Sony XAV-AX3005DB?
Yes it does. If you go onto our site that radio is in on our drop downs.

@@Enfig Thank you! appreciate the help!
The logo was in the way of seeing how the radio sat above the ac controls
Sorry its a little hard to film and install at the same time. But hiring someone to film gets expensive.
Why replace the bottom tray? Unless it clears up some space for the wiring i can't see why? Plus the factory looks quality
The original bottom tray does not hold the climate controls.
When you were prying the trim off, I had anxiety!
lol
Hi, I have seen that the forward and backward buttons on the radio are used to control the presets. Can't you also use the buttons to do the automatic tuning?
I don't remember how this radio is set up. And it also depends on the source.
Why wasn’t the parking brake cable connected and what happens if you don’t? You mentioned to go to your site, but I don’t see anything on the site that mentions the parking brake cable
We did it in our newest video. ruclips.net/video/atWAXmpBbOU/видео.html
good video but you dont need replace that plastic with the cig lighter
Where then would you put your climate control? Glove box?
How come you left the USB input in the back with all the wiring? How would you get it back to the front so it can be usable? Really good video btw, thank you!
Update: Just in case anyone else is curious, I left the cigarette lighter out and just fed the USB cable thru it.
We are looking for a mountable USB that can fit in the cigarette lighter location but have not found one yet.
Make sure to tape off the wires for the cigarette lighter if you use this method. Thanks for the feedback.
Crap, I didn't do that. I just tucked them back and left them dangling. Is it really worth it to rip everything back open just to tape them off?
Enfig
I installed this unit in daughters 2003. Installed flush mount usb in empty slot on lower panel next to passenger heated seat switch. purchased flush mount USB cord on amazon
So couldn’t I bypass the connector plugged into the OEM radio harness with the Enfig RWH-BM1, and the use a Enfig-PNP, I bought that exact radio, and I have the exact same setup, but I don’t care about steering wheel controls
Yes if you don't care about steering wheel controls we sell the RWH-BMW1 + PNP adapter. It's less money since it doesn't have the electronics to do the steering wheel controls.
I just ordered the complete kit from you. I am wondering can you replace the Sony 100 with a x5000?
I"m sorry but I am just now seeing this.
A couple questions,
I have a 2002 325xi Automatic, no navigation
Do I need to open up my shifter area for an AX5000?
Also, does the AX5000 have Bluetooth/CarPlay?
The climate control relocation requires the shifter to be removed. Yes the AX5000 has both and Android Auto.
@@Enfig I have this exact vehicle. What was the short comment you made about the green wire needing to be hooked up with the parking brake?
@@brianwalsh288 I don't remember. Do you have a time on the video?
Enfig Does a microphone come when you purchase this XAV- AX1000 or no?
@@Willie-go6dc That radio comes with a universal mic but we also offer one that goes in the factory location.
All the adapters only work with that radio or it could work with any other radio ? Like a JVC KW-V20BT ?
I have wiring for other radios. But the to install that radio in this car with this kit you need to cut your airbox behind the radio.
Does the PnP wire adapter work on E46 cars that came with the factory NAV? Also, really wish you guys came out with a new version that fixes the loose bottom trim. Even if radio is secure, a loose trim is a loose trim.
Cars with factory nav have the main parts of the radio in the trunk so you have to run one of our extensions to the trunk. The rest is the same. I havent had a single complaint about that trim. It doesn't rattle when you drive.
So I was using all components in this video, when I tested unit before I took the hvac apart and sound would not play, faulty harness or am I missing something?
In this video we used the blue wire as an antenna turn on wire. Turns out it's actually an amp turn on wire. On new harnesses it's a loose blue wire. That must be connected to the Blue/White amp turn on wire coming from the radio to turn on the factory amp.
Installed today. Followed video instructions on remote for steering wheel controls. Before I buttoned it all up, tested them out and they worked. First time I drove somewhere, the steering controls don't work and I can't program them. Any ideas?
Sounds like a good ole case of the 3.5mm plug falling out when you pushed the radio back in.
Christian I ordered the same kit for my xav1000 for a bmw 335ci it all worked but the audio wasn’t coming through did I order the wrong parts I am so confused…do I need to connect the blue wire (amplifier) with white stripe to another wire??
Yes if you do not connect the amplifier turn on wire then the amplifier does not turn on and there is no audio.
BMW e46 330ci 2001 Soundsystem Harman kardom?
The Sony radio can handle the HK system no problem.
Thinking of buying this, just had a question about the USB, where would that port be routed to? Thank you.
Most people do not connect the cigarette lighter and bring it out of that hole.
Where did you get the replacement plastic unit for the dashboard ? And also does it fit a 7inch screen ?
All the parts on this video are available on our site. The screen size does not matter. Its the size of the face of the radio. enfigcarstereo.com/replace-factory-radio-with-aftermarket-radio-installation-parts-bmw-3-series-1999-2006-E46/?make=BMW&model=3-Series&year=1999-2006
Good video but I would redesign your graphics to take up less screen real-estate. They're quite annoying. Or maybe flash in information and then take it off the screen, the viewer doesn't need that information on screen the entire time. They do however need a good, unobstructed view as to how the items come apart. Thats why they're watching this in the first place.
Thanks for the feedback man. The blue bar is there mostly for the search. After reading your comment I gave it some thought and redesigned the way we do videos. Check out the new radio installation video using the new style graphics.

Does this Sony work with the factory amp correctly? I am currently using an Avin product and I get a bad hissing sound all the time with the factory amp and speakers. Curious if this unit corrects that.
The Sony has a better built in amp that does not encounter any of those issues.

I have never seen a 3 series with digital audio.
I bought this kit and installed and everything works but I have no volume
What did I do wrong?
That's almost always the amplifier turn on wire was not connected. In this video we thought it was an antenna turn on but later realised it was an amplifier turn on. We had to rewire the harness. WE put a pink sticker on the wire that says you have to connect it but people always miss it.
How much is this head unit I really like it and I want the version on this video w/o cutting. Do you st have or sell this sony or please tell me there's a newer version without cutting anything?

good afternoon. I intend to put on a car radio like the one you put in the video or by means of the Sony brand. My car is a BMW 320 E46 from 2006 and I don't know what. components are needed exactly to leave it as you mount it. Here it is in Spain I can't find why there are many references. If you were kind enough to tell me piece by piece the references for not buying without knowing I would appreciate it. iso cables, steering wheel controls, bezel etc. Greetings from Espeaña and very good video
Pick out the radio. Then email us the part number since spain has different radio part numbers. We can add your radio to the site.
Why do you need that lower piece it seems like you lost the ashtray for no reason
It holds the climate control that was where the radio is now.
maybe a dumb question but do i get all these cords with the radio or will i need to buy them separately
If you but the kit from us it comes with all the cables. If you just buy the radio it does not.

is this kit universal for 6.2" double dins? I have a pioneer and would much prefer to keep it over sony.
Yes and no. If you use our kit with any double din radio than a Sony XAV-AX100 1000 or 5000 (currently) you have to cut a hole in your airbox to make it fit. These radios chassis go above the airbox.
