Connections is an engaging word game from the New York Times. Presented with 16 words, you are challenged to find "connections" among four groups of four words each.
If you've read this far, perhaps I can press my luck and let you know about some of the other places you can find me!

4/4, no mistake guesses today! I did think I was going to have to take a hit on knowing the fourth category, but it just came to me, whew!
Just a quick verification on the instruments.
Fiddle is Strings,
Triangle is Percussion,
Horn is Brass,
Recorder is Wind.
Please do show us your arcade antiques.
💛💚💜💙
One mistake today. There are three 3D objects and a shape, but none of category related to them. Fiddle is an additional name for a violin. It's not too hard to recognize the phrases started with food.
It's cold enough to freeze the b*lls of a brass triangle lol.
We don't use flares to direct traffic here - those are distress signals at sea !
BTW you might want to do a Connections Correction on your concept of a "Recorder," says this former music teacher. 🎶😊
Got a 4 today with 2 mistakes. Fell for the geometric shapes.
I got the first two pretty quickly, but the last two stumped me for quite a few tries. Sometimes the words are a bit more culturally oriented toward America* and I can't quite see the connections.
*fair enough, it is the New York Times after all...
I was OK in Connections, but the green category should have been yellow. The yellow categories have not been the easiest recently in my opinion. 😂
Since you got the yellow, and it was the first, you should get a .5. I give you 3.5 today.
I went through pretty much the exact same process as you: the geometric items popped right out at me, but right away it seemed a little sus. They was almost TOO obvious, and yet they still didn't quite fit: the triangle wasn't three-dimensional, the sphere had no triangular element to it, and when you stepped back, you could see them sort of blending into other potential categories, a sure sign. Once that red herring was pushed aside, the real categories came into focus in the same order as they did for you. BTW, you want to know what more specific element all the musical instruments shared? they were all chosen specifically because they had names that looked like they belonged in one of the other categories (well, except for fiddle, for which they had to pick something that was a particularly obvious give-away as to the category or else they would have had two purple categories this week).
Which category would recorder go in?
I think you're too hard on yourself. I'd give you a point for yellow as your answer was logical and fit the four words. After all, you can't read the mind of the puzzle setter.
a triangle (peewee’s favorite percussion instrument is brass?!).
you probably don’t deserve an audience. nothing here demonstrated your ability beyond average. i’ll check the nyt stats….
your last answer was solid, but beyond myself, i’m sure a large percentage of players did as well. 5:58
