Agreed! I enjoy the game a lot, but it's *very* US-centric a lot of times, and I'm Swedish, so I feel like I'm at a constant disadvantage. So I saw you do these in some shorts a week ago or so and I wasn't aware of them (I'm German) even though I used to do English Wordles every day, so I also started doing Connections and I love them. I will admit though, as a non-native speaker, at least one row usually (fortunately there's one left at the end, hah) comes absolutely out of nowhere for me. For this one it was the gem cuts I had zero clue about.
I’ve moved to my 2,2 rule for connections to bring some risk back. You start with the 2nd row, 2nd column and you have to solve that clue without trying to solve or eliminate the other groupings. When you solve the first, a new 2,2 is available, and again after the second solve for the 3rd 2,2. If you’re only getting perfects in Connections, give it a try.
Jeweler over here screaming at the screen “ baguette, baguette, baguette it’s baguette!” It’s one of my least favorite cuts, but once in a blue moon it is used just right in a design and becomes phenomenal.

I got the Halloween one easy, and then I stumbled into food slang for head (i just picked the right foods I guess. I can't remember ever hearing a head referred to as a bean or a nut). And then I got completely knowledge checked because I know nothing of gem cuts and the only plant connection that came to mind was Licorice and Anise. So that was Mildly frustrating. But then I perfected the next day's, so.
