The Rock is one of my all time favorite movie and soundtrack . You guys are awesome
Plus the 《Gladiator》 are my top two favorites.😆I just finished listening to 《The world of Hans Zimmer》 performance in Taiwan yesterday.
Such classic Hans Zimmer score from the old days!! Very nice suite!
I actually listen to this on long trips. It’s such an iconic peice to an epic film 🥹
They don’t make movies like that anymore… closest was maybe the new Batman the Dark Knight Rises or Batman Begins.

Mr Jiří, I would like to comment on how satisfying it is to watch you at work on this particular video. There are conductors who are very focused during the concerts, others are plainly stiff, some are hmmm.. pompous I'd say ;-), while some are very energetic and show a range of emotions. I love watching these last ones and thinking about an example, it brings me instantly two names: Eimear Noone's and yours. With your movement you talk to the orchestra, guide them through everything that's in your head and are able to express it. A glimpse of smile here and there is very rewarding, both for the players (I hope!) and for me as a spectator. Keep up the good work! Always! And two big thumbs up! 👍👍

Pretty sure The Rock is primarilly composed by Nick Glennie-Smith with additions from Harry Gregson-Williams and Hans Zimmer.
But I guess Zimmer attracks more clicks.
Actually you are very right, but we have to put what we have on sheet music. Actually it is not getting clicks, because there is huge competition on “HZ”, so it is definitely not about that.

*oh boy, HARRY-GREGSON-WILLIAMS, this one is one of my favorite composers, along with JOHN WILLIAMS, HANZ ZIMMER and NOBUO UEMATSU, pure geniuses !!!* 👍
The main theme (that you hear at 1:29 or 4:57, and that pretty much defines and unites the whole soundtrack) was entirely composed by HZ. So, even if in terms of "quantity" he did less than NGS or HGW, in terms of "making the soundtrack famous" he did more.

I only know when Zimmer did Pearl Harbor he spoke about it being the first time he'd worked for Michael Bay because The Rock was really Nick Glennie-Smith, and he just helped out a little because NGS worked out of Zimmer's studios as one of his protege composers.
Very possible Zimmer was being overly modest about his contributions. But he seemed to take no ownership over The Rock despite being credited as one of its composers.

The second best composition of Hans Zimmer after Pirates of the Carribeans 3 ("I Dont Think Now Is The Best Time" is an absolute masterpiece) and just, just before Gladiator.
