Nobody, should knock a person until they have walked or stood in their shoes. Eight years ago my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer(she has since passed.) I would never forget when we went for the results and the Doctor confirmed that she did have Cancer she did nor react and about 20 minutes later tears started to roll down her face. I asked her later why did it take you so long for you to to react. She said that she could not believe what the Doctor was saying and she was asking herself if what she was hearing was right. I said all of that to say this. Cancer is a very hard and tough road to walk privately far less in the public eye. Just place yourself in her shoes and give her some grace.

My condolences to you for your loss. Nobody is giving Kate a hard time. When it comes to walking in Kate's shoes. We are just not convinced Kate still needs shoes. As crazy as it sounds, this has been a P.R. mess. There is doubt to the story because they created doubt. There were things going on behind the seens that contradicted every story. Right down to the fake photos. And now this fake video. Has not been seen in 4 months. And from the statement in the video. She is supposedly receiving PREVENTIVE Kemo. Not to down play, but it makes no medical since. Maybe because it is not true.
My 93 year old mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer at 83. She is receiving treatment. She is still here. She attends all family activites and is doing week.

I'm not a fan of Kate but really why on earth should she tell everyone? When my mother had cancer I didn't want to tell anyone because I really didn't want people's sympathy and I didn't want to hear people's horror stories. Believe me, people can be very insensitive. An acquaintance who I told about my mother's breast cancer went on to tell me that her mother-in-law died from cancer and that treatment didn't work. Just why? Why would I need to hear that. And why should someone's disease and suffering be any business of yours?

Fumi, you look beautiful in pink...my favorite color! Princess Kate or anyone else should not be forced to disclose their medical diagnosis. As a physician and experience, when a patient is diagnosed with cancer, it takes time to accept the diagnosis and treatment plan. In addition, deciding who will be told and giving family/friends time to also process the diagnosis is key to the patient’s success. It's ashame that KP handled this so poorly and being the spark to all the distrust and conspiracy theories. Whether ealy stage or advanced stage all cancer patients are fighting for their life and doesn't need added stress.
The King told the country and they accepted it and wished him well. If Kate had done the same too there would have been no stress. She's a public figure and people will ask questions.
No one forced her to discuss her diagnosis. People just wanted to see her and if she is ok. She chose to reveal it. Funmi just to clarify here because I think there is some confusion. KP claimed that the video was recorded and provided by the BBC i.e. state broadcaster. BUT in fact the video was provided by BBC Studios - a commercial venture that does not adhere to the same news editorial policies. As such Getty were unable to confirm the complete accuracy of the video, they then reached out to the BBC who confirmed the video did not come from them but rather BBC studios.
That is the real issue here. As for the WaPo they are likely engaging in client journalism for future access.
The issue here is that the BRF have been editing pictured and videos for YEARS but I suspect the main agencies let them get away with it when the elderly late Queen was in charge out of respect. That artistic licence has now ended and the main picture agencies are now seeking greater transparency from the BRF.
Getty and AP are likely frustrated because whenever they request the original pictures and videos from KP, that these are not provided. So in essence there is a standoff between the picture agencies and the Royal Family and it looks very much like the Royal Family believe if they ignore these requests that this will make them above the fray so they do not need to follow the rules.
KP effectively need to clean up their PR and Communications strategy because this is a disaster for them.
The KP recruit BBC to broadcast the video. The making of it lies on both of them.

Fumi, you have such a kind heart. You’re son must be proud to call you his Mom. On the Princess of Wales BBC video, Getty images or any other media just has to tag it “Submitted photo” or “Submitted video from Kensington Palace.” They can just reiterate in the caption that it was submitted by the palace or wherever at whatever time. I worked in journalism, over 40 years, writing editing, web editing and also produced my own content, videos and photos. Our exclusive photos, videos and articles were credited to our journalists or the company, submitted items were identified based on the writer, submitter, etc. so a distinction was made. If a photo was edited in house to insert objects or edit beyond minor light enhancements, contrast etc., they were referred to as photo illustrations. Graphic designs were referenced as graphic illustrations. So there are already industry guidelines for all this that make it simple. BBC could have made it easier on the Princess if it explained it shot the video in front of a green screen because the first thing people noticed was the background didn’t seem real and some strange things were happening like her ring disappearing and even her fingers changing shape. I think most people love Katherine and are seriously concerned about her and would like to see her because they don’t necessarily trust the Royal family. However I disagree with demands that she should disclose what can she has and more about her condition. She said she’s started getting chemo treatments, and they can be hard on the body, even causing weakness in the legs where she may not feel like walking, or being public, especially after abdominal surgery. Also subjecting herself to any public location could cause her to become ill from any virus because her immune system will be reduced by the chemo. I lost my husband of almost 30 years from cancer. To start with, we couldn’t tell people a diagnosis. He was believed at first to have follicular lymphoma, and went through rounds of chemo for that. He was tested for bone cancer but that was ruled out. He had to learn to walk again because he lost so much muscle in his legs. The cancer appeared to be in recession until he became weaker and further tests showed a tumour behind his lung that the doctors said was inoperable. He went through rounds of radiation until it looked like it stopped growing. But the cancer returned throughout his body and he suffered a stroke on one side of his body. This all happened in one year. I cared for him at home for about 8 months. So how can someone newly diagnosed with cancer say what type it is, when it can metastasize and spread everywhere. It’s a frightening experience for the patient and their loved ones. After my husband passed, I suffered a serious heart attack, a spontaneous coronary artery dissection, which occurs mostly in women and can kill quickly if not treated promptly. When I was told in the ER what I had before they rushed me by ambulance to a Cath Lab at another hospital, I had my first real panic attack and I’ve never been the same since. I had high ST elevation, Troponin and Creatine levels showing muscle damage already occurring in a previously healthy heart. I was fit and lived a healthy lifestyle and was devastated. Katherine, I’m sure, must feel the same. Even as a journalist, I haven’t done a public interview on my heart attack experience, at least not yet. Katherine has to make tough decisions about her health, there will be more tests after the chemo and it will proceed from there. She should be allowed whatever time she needs to do this. I compared my heart attack because a lot of people hear of someone having a heart attack and think they’re all the same. No two heart attacks are alike. Some people have chest pains and a blockage is found and cleared with a balloon and stent before it damages the heart, with me a balloon and stent was used but it took time for the doctor to find the area affected. He said my arteries were pristine. I was 7 days in critical care and a doctor following diagnosed me with SCAD in a lateral artery, blocking a descending artery, my widow maker artery. So like heart attack, not all cancer cases are alike either, skin cancers can spread to other organs, so can breast cancer, lymphomas, ovarian and cervical cancers.
I hope this helps some people understand that even if she named one type of cancer, her case could be more complicated and she needs breathing room to absorb all this and reassess her children’s future if anything worse happens. I think a mistrust of the institution since Princess Diana could be playing a role in people’s obsession over her health and wanting to make sure she’s ok. A real unedited photo of her with William and the children when she feels up to it might offset those concerns.
I hope she is improving and beats this disease. She’s been a breath of fresh air in the Royal family. I think of Fergie too who is staying silent but battling cancer again and of course, King Charles. May they all conquer it and work toward improving lives of other cancer patients worldwide.

If you listen carefully, she says it had been there. That means it was in whatever was taken out but she does not currently have cancer or else it would not be preventive chemotherapy. I know someone who was donating a kidney to a friend and when they did a scan, there was a mass in one of her kidneys. It was cancer but confined to that compact mass so she didn’t have cancer. It had been there but removed and they didn’t find any cells.

I’m not a fan of Kate, but there is still too much weirdness surrounding this for me to believe this is the entire story. If she needs to be away from people, that’s understandable but why hasn’t William been out with the children? At the Easter service, Charles who has cancer, Fergie who has cancer were both out. Maybe Kate’s condition is more serious but it doesn’t explain why her entire family has also disappeared, especially in a setting that can be highly controlled. I’m going to remain highly skeptical that Kate is “okay” unless and until she’s seen in a way the palace can’t manipulate.
For the sake of her children who I do have sympathy for, I hope that she really is going to be okay. If she isn’t okay and this has been the palace covering something up, I hope that they will be okay and get some real help from outside the system that they were born into.

Love you Fumi, it's so kind of you to trust the RF so much. I beat breast cancer and now fighting leukemia with chemo and I'm hard at work. Your King is getting Chemo and working.We still have not seen Kate. I don't care what she does, but the RF is playing in everyones face. Why all the tapes and photos? She doesn't have to but she could stop all the speculations by making a LIVE appearance for a few minutes.Kate is no fragile flower but she can be a mean girl when she wants to be. She's human. Agree …..and all you’ve said would be acceptable if nothing preceded the Kate video…….the Mother’s Day photo, the farm video, the questions etc…….which presented an air of distrust. In view of those past incidents, It would have been best to make clear ‘up front’ that the video was in studio and therefore the background was painted/ or pictured but It was in fact “Kate” in the video. Then have that recording with all its ID image numbers for verification sent to Getty images prior to releasing the video. This would have been necessary due to the cloud of suspicion already existing. In the same manner in which it was deemed necessary to inform the public that Kate wrote the announcement herself, the other relevant supportive receipts could have been relayed. This would have lessened additional talk. That being said, I do believe she needs ceaseless prayers as she journeys through this season of her life. Enjoying your discussions .😊

People need to realize that this story is plausible as I have lived this situation. My step father had a kidney removed due to a tumour that was questionable. It wasn’t until they opened him up that it was confirmed as cancer. The surgeon said “I think I got it all but scared that I left one cell behind”. I questioned the oncologist about preventative chemo. They said it wasn’t necessary. I wish I had pushed harder as we lost him 2 years later.
