Was very fun going on this adventure with you 2.
    The island sounds very sad.
    Love the dolphins!

very nice video and looks like great sailing grounds. the water depth varies so greatly which is something I have not had to deal with much. Bet center boards or swing keels are popular.

We had gone there with our sailing club - about 15 boats - had a nice time on the beach with our friends but there are much better places to go.

@timohan100 With a draft that deep you would be able to sail in most of Tampa Bay however the depths there range from 12 feet to ankle deep on a Heron. You will be restricted to the channels otherwise. Others in our sailing club, Boca Ciega Yacht Club in Gulfport have difficulty with 5 foot drafts. Your draft would be very limiting. I'm glad HideAway only draws about 2.5

I've sailed to and stayed the night on beer can island. You arrived on a bad day. Try again on a weekday maybe. I was the only one there. The human trash is bad though I'll admit

Can you have a boat with 6-6 draft in the bay? I might be transfered from Chicago to Tampa and am just beginning my research on the sailing scene.

+bill bye Its a kit boat called the Eastport Pram by Chesapeake Light Craft. I'm working on making the sailing components. It sails really well - lots of fun for one.
