- Primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is a rare neuromuscular disease characterized by progressive muscle weakness in the voluntary muscles. PLS belongs to a group of disorders known as motor neuron diseases. Motor neuron diseases develop when the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement degenerate and die, causing weakness in the muscles they control.

Dear David,
Sorry, you may have PLS. Symptoms such as weakness in the legs, cramps, muscle loss, voice weakness and spasticity are known phenomena in PLS. Emotion that spontaneously develops like crying and laughing and no control over belonging to PLS. Very nice that your wife takes care of you and is a good support. We will pray for you and hopefully there will ever be a solution to the muscular disease PLS. Regards, Jos Lotz.
David Waller...I would like to pray for you! I was told in 2011 that I may have a Motor Neuron disease. Things actually got a little better for a couple years, but just recently getting all the symptoms back like cramps and fasciculations. Weakness never went away tho.
