This is from a longer documentary project about Dr. Deborah Warden and how she lives with Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS), a neurodegenerative condition. As a physician, she has unique insights into her condition and the approach of Western medicine to treatment. As a patient, she is also exploring alternative therapies such as Ayurveda as a means of managing her condition and maintaining an active life.
Dr. Warden was formerly Director of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. She was a leader in the treatment of veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, where traumatic brain injuries were the signature wound. Dr. Warden is a neurologist and psychiatrist and a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
How can one find the longer documentary? I would be interested in seeing it.
Incisive and inspiring!
