Thanks for the relevant subjects on your podcasts. I yearn to better understand AI and the everchanging landscapes before us. You guys always have great questions. Thanks!
With all due respect, your guest does not know what she is talking about. I understand it is hard to find experts in domains outside your expertise, so please take this with the good faith is meant with. For example, when talks about scaling she is COMPLETELY WRONG. She explains that scaling is "putting AI in everything". Incorrect. To oversimplify a bit, and using made up numbers, scaling works like the following. Every AI model has a number of "neurons". The scaling idea is that the more neurons, the smarter the AI gets. For example, if you make an AI with 100 neurons, and then upgrade to 1,000 neurons then you will also get twice as smart. If you upgrade from 1,000 to 10,000 the AI will get twice as smart again. Scaling is the idea that you can do this forever until you have a super AI that is a genius.
Respectfully, I could have clarified I'm thinking of scaling in a business sense vs the tech itself. There are a lot of factors involved with scaling and to explain it fully would have taken longer than we had time for. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the episode. 😂
Interesting but a bit confusing episode. I’m all for leaving Instagram-I miss the old version, just like I miss the old RUclips before all the restrictions on 🔫 content. Sadly, I doubt we’ll ever get that back. As an ’80s kid raised on The A-Team, I believe adults should have the freedom to learn about history and weapons of war without an algorithm deciding what’s ‘safe’ for them. Criticizing the Chinese government for restricting images of Tiananmen Square is no different from restricting military history, journalists, and guntubers from even mentioning certain words or showing images of the very objects carried by the people who protect our way of life.
35:36 Too funny - that blonde reference made me laugh!

Another great pod, would love to see an expert on Africa go into some of the current conflicts in that continent and the global implications
