I occasionally add science-fiction to the channel, since science-fiction often verges into the realm of horror. I suspect you can argue to what extent this particular serial is horror or not, but in all sincerity - does that really matter when you have the double act of Cushing and Price?
MYSTERIOUS MAGPIE is a channel devoted to ghost and horror stories on British radio, and to dark tales of every kind. I have another channel, MYSTICAL MAGPIE, which is all about stories of fantasy, mythology, and adventure: / @mysticalmagpie-wo5fn
If you're interested to know more about the century-long history of ghost and horror stories broadcast at Christmas on British television and radio, you might like to check out HOLLY WRAITHS (and its companion volume HOLLY TERRORS), an A-Z guide available in paperback and ebook from Amazon and Lulu.com.

That was a treat. What superb voice actors Cushing and Price are. The little asides and non verbal vocalisations by Price produce an effect of intimacy between them I don’t think I’ve ever heard on radio before. Many thanks.

@@pattynielsen5506 Things like little chuckles, uh-uhs, aahs, hmms, that most of us use every day. A good actor like Vincent Price or Peter Cushing will use them even if they are unscripted.

Then I can point you to 'The Price of Fear: The Man Who Hated Scenes' (on this channel and several others) which once again features Cushing alongside Vincent Price...

Price did quite a few radio plays for the BBC, including another one with Cushing called "The Man Who Hated Scenes" - worth a listen...

Not the worst radio play I've ever heard . But fairly close. Was this a script from the " reject " pile at Hammer Films..?

This is a horrible copy, there are higher quality versions elsewhere on RUclips.

It's an off-air recording, I didn't want to be provocative and simply upload a commercially available recording of it. This said, if you'd like to post a link to other channels where people can hear it in better quality I really don't mind.
