- Welcome back on the Daily Aviation for a new documentary video about the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy. The C-5 Galaxy is the US Air Force biggest aircraft and although it was produced 50 years ago, it is still in use today and is expected to remain in service for decades to come.

It makes me really happy and proud seeing black ladies and guys involved in complex operations in aviation due to their own competencies. We're brothers and sisters.
I'm surprised to be able to load so much luggage. I'm glad to see your great channel again. From Woongkham, a South Korean RUclipsr.
🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
Thanks👍🇺🇸
I am still amazed by the C-5, even after fifty years, that thing is huge!
Yea, like your mom after failing her diet... (/bad school joke no harm intended)
Gaspard, If you knew my mother I might take offense, but since you don't I will just put it down to your just being weird (no offense, right?) Where are you from, I'm in Connecticut?

I had worked on C-5 A, B, C, and M models for over 20 years. I have had the pleasure to see the world because the of the C-5 due to mission or maintenance recovery (they did have problems) and I do miss being around those aircraft and the teams of specialist that kept them going. So many memories....
That brought back memories. I worked loading and unloading cargo planes when I was in the AF. I got out in '73. Mostly worked on the C-141, C-130, and C-5A. Three planes that I worked on that aren't around anymore are the C-133, C-124, and the C-119. There were some DC-3s and an old Connie we loaded and unloaded that were owned by Reeves Aleutian Airways.
Great memories indeed. I was stationed at Travis in the 80’s, worked on C-5’s & C-141’s. Loved it! I like to watch these videos and check the tail numbers to see if I remember being on it.
C-141 retired.
Superb.
Ongelooflijk dat dit allemaal nog lukt na 50
Jaar ,, geweldig om te zien .
*_Всех, с наступающим Новым Годом!!! Привет из Донецка!!!_* 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

if it ant broke , dont fix it. ( but if repairs are needed , so be it) so glad the c5 is still around
Brilliant video thank you for sharing. Very interesting.
Love usa Love Americ
That gear landing 😳😳😳 Good catch.
Cool
Enjoyed the video. Thanks !
Woow very spectactular video👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥
Love C5
Very nice
Looks like a warehouse with wings on it.
The flight deck is not 65' above the ground. The top of the tail is 65' high though. The top of the fuselage is about 31' above the ground, so the flight deck is somewhat less than 31' above the ground.
Very wonderful air craft very easy carries any heaviests another to another places.
when the front end opened up it looked funny it looked like a giant shark opening its mouth
It is shear beaking to see such brilliant minds , and hard working folks getting
Leveraged for hurting other folks..
Thanhks ❤️❤️❤️
I like it
I truly miss working on the C-5
Impressive plane ✈️
I guess to load cargo on the C-5 when I was stationed at Dover AFB Delaware.
the MONSTER C-5 GALAXY, yehhhh baby
Planes are cool
Actually, the cockpit is only 25 feet off of the ground as the entire plane is about 60 feet tall.
*Excelente*
When was the C5 ability to fall appart at random properly fixed ? That thing was an impressive jigsaw puzzle at launch...
The C5A models had the serious structural issues. (like randomly falling apart.)
Incredible Aircraft!! Good solution that one can open up the front, the Nose, and fill up or empty the Aircraft from there!!🙏🙏🙏

The only thing missing on that C-5 is gobs of chest hair.
thank for video.likely very soft music.good job.
Wow
Bravo pour u.s.a
This situation is not that uncommon. Having done this several times. The nice part about it is that the aircraft opens up at both ends. You just kneel the aircraft at the appropriate setting drive the vehicle on put it in place disconnect the tractor and it drives out. Unless of course it is flying with the trailer. Did this job for 31 years. My favorite aircraft is the C-130 herky bird. Second favorite is the c-141 starlifter.
👍💯
❤❤❤
Very impressive. How did they do that.
By putting the cargo inside of the cargo hold, simple dude...

Yesss that the best
Texa .......++ 4000. México DML 07.💛💛💛Texa.
Why did they spray it? To wash it?
The spray is water. It is done for a couple of reasons. A pilot could have taken their last flight, the plane could be retiring, or the commander of the squadron is getting a Permanent Change of Station. It’s a salute to many different things.
@@outdoorfrenzy ah, thank you for clearing that up for me!

Only "GIANT" to Euros
Can confirm, am European and I was amazed at how much bigger litteraly everything is in the US when I moved here. Now after living in the US for over 8 years it's just normal to me
did they need to take the truck too?
Yes. Not every place they land has capabilities to move the equipment we deliver.
ME GUSTA=I LIKE IT
I guess that I am over old also!
Im sorry your* pfp is making me wheeze
E deus mesmo na vida desses homems
Thats just a normal sized truck 🤷♂️
That's what I was going to say! In addition, it is NOT a loading but an unloading. :)
To Europe it might seem big. Idk where this channel is based, so I can't really say much. All I know is that back when I used lived in Europe, the semi trucks were mainly those overcabs from Volvo and Mercedes and other companies. Then moving to the US everything just seemed so much bigger
COMMS has a tuck and trailer that fits on board with only inches to spare on both sides and top. Now that is impressive to watch being loaded and unloaded.
You should see the AN-255

Why were they spraying water on the one in the intro
I forgot what it exactly meant, but its not going to affect the plane other then rust.
Why do some aircraft last longer then others?
Money and politics.
Are you sure about cockpit of this plane is 65ft above ground level
The top of the T-tail is 65ft, the cockpit/flightdeck is 30 ft. Also the comment able the “backward technology engines” is grossly wrong. The original TF-39 engines have been replaced over the last decade with CFM-6 engines which are an industry workhorse found on Boeing 747’s, 767’s Airbus products and more. Overall good video, just tighten up on some of the data and specs.

Thanks for setting them straight. That was a Travis bird. I was a C-5 mechanic/crew chief at Travis, And retired with 22 years service. So many ignorant comments on here make me nauseous!
🇺🇸🇺🇸✈️✈️👍
The top of the fuselage is about 30 feet. The cockpit floor is closer to 25’. This person has zero clue about the military and no ability to check simple facts. I did time at Travis as well, left there in 2003 for Korea.

Hello Calsurf, greetings to a fellow C-5 crew dog. I did my entire 21year career on the C-5 at Dover AFB. My first 10years as a crewchief, and DCC with over 2000 hours. Did the last 11years as a C-5 Flight Engineer. The C-5 has always been in my heart, and I never tire of watching it fly. Stay safe my fellow crew dog.
