I can't believe I stumbled on this. I thought I was crazy with these two polar opposite bands (and vocalists) being my two favorites, and here they are together complementing each other's records. When "Fortress" and "Dream Theater" came out within that close of a time frame of eachother, it was like Christmas. This is beautiful!
Myles is actually not bad at talking to the crowd. Even though he is an amazing musician is so humble and when he talks to the audience he actually "sound real".
Both albums were amazing, both bands are great, and this video is awesome! I think that "Fortress" is AB's best album to date; it has a lot of prog elements, which I, as a DT fan, really appreciate.
Love both these guys. Cool singers and really down to earth guys. Met James on a meet and greet and behind the amazing Portnoy he was the one that made most effort- thought he was very amenable to the fans.

No Myles.... you guys aren't in kindergarten compared to Dream Theater.... you don't give yourselves enough credit. 6th grade at least....maybe even junior high. ;) JK... Alter Bridge is pretty awesome too. In fact, probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite band right now.... after DT of course.
For me Alter Bridge are number 1 and Dream Theater are a close second. Obviously DT are the far more technically advanced and progressive of the two bands, but I just really appreciate the "tightness" of Alter Bridge's music. Anyway, good to see that lots of people can appreciate both bands simultaneously. I'll agree with your assessment that Alter Bridge are at least in junior high haha

for me, I love Dream Theater and Alter Bridge. They are in my top 5 favorite bands of all time. IMO Tremonti is just as good as JP or he's better. At leads they are on a same level, but rhythm wise Tremonti wins. He was named as the Guitarist of the decade too. The thing is Mark Tremonti doesn't try to be technical like JP always because songwriting is his first thing.

axlrosea675 I hope you're kidding... James suffered of a throat problem for years and despite of that he just continued and the guys on DT gave him that chance. Nowadays, his voice is back and better than ever... besides, singing on top of what those wackos write is quite the job...!!! I love DT BTW.

Cool interview. I like both bands a lot. AB's new CD is very good. DT CD is ok, but James's new solo CD sounds amazing. IMO .
