Chasing Leia was one of the most comical, Benny Hill type, and absurd scenes I’ve ever scene in Star Wars.

The story wasn't that good and the third act was super rushed, the combat had minimal changes and the symbiote suit mechanic disappointed me greatly.
It felt more like a cosmetic change with a super simple rage bar.
And now they announce that Peter parker has been replaced going forward with the future games

Andor is a great show but folks are upset it wasn't Star Wars because all the other shows are complete crap which highlights how different it is from other SW shows ... its tough to swallow a different take on SW when Disney screws up all the other projects

Dude I’m so glad you mentioned the women’s athleticism. One of my big problems with ahsoka was the fight scenes 😂 they looked so slow. Tbh the younger ahsoka was way better with a lightsaber than older ahsoka

I've been focusing on the "universe" aspect of the shows. The little things. The easter eggs..everything else is questionable.
All disney has to is reach out to the fanbase...a handful of dedicated fans know more than all the Disney creators..
I say the same thing about my job. We got higher ups, making decisions on stuff they know nothing about. If u get feedback and actually talk to and listen to the actual workers who KNOW the job, things will get fixed.

Totally correct about the lightsaber duels. I'll say this....even though the original trilogy had rudimentary lightsaber choreography compared to other eras....the duel between Luke and Vader at the end of ROTJ had more emotional weight behind it than any other duel in the whole star wars universe....a sliver of an edge over Vader and Obi Wan on Mustafar.....partly because of John Williams' score in the background, i grant you that....but if it has real emotion and real heart....a duel will be epic and memorable

I still get goosebumps watching the final scene of Mando season 2. That 10 min is arguably the best we will ever get from them. They are capable of great things, but their agenda gets in the way. Obviously
19:30 Tyrone I feel ya. I have been seriously looking into making lists of classic movies all the way back to the 50s and 60s - sometimes older - that I've never seen but that I feel SHOULD be on my bucket list. Most of the movies I have missed have been much more recent vintage. Never seen The Goonies for example. But I recently got a chance to see the original Japanese version of Godzilla - Gojira from 1954 (with subtitles and no Raymond Burr) and I was SERIOUSLY surprised at what a DARK MASTERPIECE that film is! Even the effects hold up within the context of the film (no - they don't hold up to modern standards - but I knew that going in and adjusted my expectations) And 20,000 Leagues under the Sea - talk about one of the best Disney films of all time! Get it used and you don't even have to pay the mouse for it!
But - my point here is that there are literally DECADES of GOOD films and TV that can be viewed INSTEAD of seeing anything new!
There's an amazing amount of MUSIC available as well. I was just thinking - when was the last time I binge listened to the Beatles? Or RUSH? I need to again!
There's even about 30 years worth of classic VIDEOGAMES that are still findable (Look up GOG and start buying and downloading! Most of the stuff you'll find is INCREDIBLY CHEAP. And the good stuff is REALLY GOOD. Even old consoles can be excellent sources of entertainment. For example - If you were to acquire the right kind of Playstation 3 console (the version that's backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games) you'd have a VAST library that you'd NEVER tire of! And that's just ONE type of old console. The consoles and games might be either incredibly cheap or incredibly rare and expensive. But they are out there for the finding.
And the BEST part?
PHYSICAL MEDIA. Set a room aside in your house for all the physical media you can acquire - and none of these "Games as a Service" corporations can EVER take that away from you! Same with the movies and music you can find either on vinyl records, CDs, DVDs or even old cassette tapes (gotta be careful with tapes and the old vinyl records - they do wear out over time. CD or DVD recordings of old favorites recommended in those cases.
Back to the main point - There's almost 100 years of GOOD entertainment available to find. (Including de-specialized versions of Star Wars) No matter how woke and irrelevant Hollywood becomes - at least for now, we can always go back to the good stuff from before the woke mind virus hit and turned everything to crap.
EDIT: And how could I have forgotten about ANIME?! Most recent stuff isn't to my taste. (My Hero Academia and the Space Battleship Yamato remake aside) But the classic era from the late 1970s through about the middle 2000s is another vast source of entertainment!

That's actually one thing I kind of appreciate it. I've been wanting more stories inside the Star wars universe that don't revolve around this same characters over and over again. It's a massive universe but the only stories we can tell are about the skywalkers? It was starting to feel like Jedi and the force weren't as special anymore because we had so much of it. And don't get me wrong I absolutely love star wars, as a child I could recite the entirety of the original trilogy. The ultimately I'm fine with them expanding on more stories.

Im not a massive fan but i enjoyed watching the original trilogy and prequels. Theyre fun and entertaining. What theyre doing to these franchises is terrible. Ive become disillusioned to what theyve done to dr who as well which ive been a big fan of since i was a kid.

Cap, Andor was great. Seeing how the rebellion was born and how dangerous it was for those involved was awesome story telling within the Star Wars universe.

Honestly Andor was the only good show Disney put out imo. Just the whole prison break alone, with Andy Serkis absolutely crushing his speech to the inmates. More stories away from lightsabers and the Force need to be told.
I enjoyed it like you guys did, but I think someone like Theory would be less apathetic and less prone to criticize it had it not taken such precedent over what was supposed to be a huge landmark in the lore like Obi-Wan, which was a story that many people have been waiting to see since at least the prequels, and some even since 1977. I think that was his main point. Andor can exist and it's fine, especially when done so well... but there's no way around the fact that it's a supplemental take on ACTUAL Star Wars movies. That's why despite Rogue One being such a great movie, all anyone ever talks about is the Vader hallway scene or him choking Krennec... because Vader is the epitome of Star Wars itself.
Yea it's just maybe not everyone's cup of tea, like it's great for a more mature individual story line but starwars fans aren't used to that specific tone and style,

I actually liked Andor, the dialogue was great. If they added a couple of more ship battles or a cool lightsaber scene, it would have been a perfect Star Wars show since Disney took over the franchise.

Take wands and wizards out of Harry Potter. Is it still the Wizarding World? Some people cant see that no matter how much they enjoyed Andor, good writing, blah blah blah, it's not Star Wars. The show could literally be called anything.
I have to disagree with the lightsabers but I do agree that andor was incredible. I don't think all of star wars needs to be space wizards and massive space battles. I like when they slow it down and show what the normal citizens of this galaxy are going through during all this craziness. It's why I liked Rogue One as well. You get to see the nitty gritty version of this galaxy.
You could’ve taken an Alistair MacLean novel turned movie from the 60’s (Where Eagles Dare comes to mind), set it in the Star Wars universe, and you’d have Andor.

What makes it worse is all those stormtroopers seen in shows like Obi-Wan as well as the ones seen in Rogue One are all pulled from the 501st legion roster. Which means they were all volunteer stand in characters.

I enjoyed Andor for the most part. Sure it was boring at times but I love the lore and hearing about the stories outside of the main story. I think it “not being Star Wars” actually helped it in this case. Not my favorite thing by Disney SW but top 5 easy

Being honest I liked some of the Star Wars and other Disney + shows that others did not like. But I watched them while multitasking... gaming, or have a sports event streaming seems to make watching it that much better. Must be why after the shows I vaguely remember what I watched. Unlike the Star Wars classics that I remember vividly. This also holds true to Marvel etc.
It’s all to appease the shareholders. Companies find it easier to remake a movie instead of coming up with something new. It’s an easy win (monetarily) to remake a movie.

The Kenobi show did a good job portraying this menacing, no mercy for innocent people type Vader, but the show was a mess!

Andor is a well written show but it's not for everyone. It's for ppl that want to expand the SW universe without the recognizable stuff.
I get what Theory is saying tho, Star Wars currently is boring. It's not getting more fans.
Saying that Andor doesn't feel like Star Wars is a bit like saying worldbuilding doesn't feel like a world.
Disney is quite literally like it's villains.
Interesting, the Andor debate is a debate between Star Wars fans...and thats OK. The Andor debate seems to toe the line between the Original Trilogy Star Wars generation and the Prequel generation. OG fans prefer atmosphere and dialog which helps validate & expand the Star Wars universe (which doesn't have to always include the main characters and light sabers fights), whereas the prequel generation (who grew up on Pax jedi force powers, light sabers, and huge space battles) are looking for action-packed Star Wars and more main character exposure.
So, not very surprisingly, the OT star wars generation (like me) tend to really like Andor, because it is a perfect engaging side story, that is a perfectly fine derivative of the SW universe. Whereas Prequel generation think it is too slow and not enough action. What nobody disputes is the Andor story, which is perfectly fine because it doesn't change any events of the timeline...it simply tells us of a little suspense drama within the main timeline events...and I think that is cool.
The sad reality is that the top people at Disney just simply think they know Star Wars then any of us and we can't change their opinions.
The only thing, and I mean the only thing that was good seeing in Kenobi was the duel between Kenobi and Vader. But still disappointed that they decided to not give the duel "Battle of the Heroes" score. Really, Kenobi was a disappointment. It wasn't focus on him like Theory said, it was all on reva. From here on out, I'm just watching South Park giving kk and disney the finger for their stupidity
