    Great videos. I especially love how you kept in your thought process. Most tutorials skim over the trial & error and just walk you through a flawlessly completed material.

      Thanks! I don't think it's the case with all my tutorials but I always try to include the experience that I got from making the materials. (In this case, you're watching my first try with this specific material).

    Hi there, I was wondering where I can get the multi directional warp node you use now as the link in description is broken and the integrated multi directional warp gives very different results. thanks!

      Hey Daniel, you can just use the non uniform directional warp node which is a default node now.

    Question - Do you have any paid/premium learning materials anywhere? Your free youtube content is excellent, so I'd be curious if there are other places you have learning materials.

      Hi REBX! Good question. Not at the moment. But I may explore the idea at some point. Thanks for asking! Any idea of the kind of content you'd like to see?

      @@danieljrgameart The challenge I'm finding is with up-to-date information on some basic man-made surfaces - wood, bricks, concrete, marble, block work, metals, etc - and how to modify and parameterize it for usage in different cases - some foundational stuff but not beginner beginner. So many tutorials are either very old, not 'professional enough' with their approach, very abbreviated, hyper stylized (so many stylized), or covering elaborate techniques that have minimal application in actual usage. I found your channel specifically by looking for metal, and it's great. And I plan on checking out more of your videos. But yeah, if you do premium content as well, I'd definitely look out for it.

      What you describe is exactly what I made for a client when I was freelancing. And it can be tough to achieve, especially when you want your materials to look good (or correct) at any size, from 256x256 to 4k. It's a very good idea for a tutorial! Thanks.

    ça n'explique pas grand chose c'est pas un "step by step tutorial" c'est un timelapse. Le résultat finale est super cool mais comment avoir la matière et ce que les nœuds font et pourquoi les utiliser n'est pas expliqué du tout. cette vidéo est l'équivalent d'une photo sur artstastion.

    • @danieljrgameart
      @danieljrgameart  3 года назад +1

      Je viens de le retirer de la playlist "step by step", ce n'était pas sa place. Merci pour ça. J'ai essayé différents formats au cours du temps. Dans celui-ci j'ai enregistré la voix après la vidéo, donc c'est plus un commentaire qu'un vrai step by step. De là à dire que c'est l'équivalent d'une photo sur ArtStation... c'est un peu poussé :) Mais ça me motive à en faire un autre sur ce sujet, plus guidé et pas à pas.

    • @hipple80
      @hipple80 3 года назад +1

      Dire que c'était l'équivalent d'une photo était exagéré, méchant et enfantin, je m'excuse pour ça. Et vraiment le résultat est super cool mais néanmoins c'est décourageant de trouver une vidéo sur un sujet intéressant et de ne pas comprendre le fonctionnement des éléments surtout quand il y a un nombre très limité de vidéo qui explique substance designer. Mon point est que je peux regarder la vidéo a 0.5% la vitesse et avoir la même matière mais je ne comprendrai pas comment je l'ai eu.

      C'est un sujet important et il est vrai que ça vaudrait la peine de le refaire en mode vrai tuto. Justement je cherchais un idée pour un prochain ! :) Je m'en occupe ce weekend.
