I got a question will you be able to ring the alarm or find out secret floors by surfing, It would be more interesting Also want to see video on new generic
@@lucasthings No, I’m not going to be doing any lift surfing on my channel as it isn’t something I wish to promote. As for new generic lifts, I’m not particularly interested in filming common lifts which can be found anywhere. I like looking for unusual and rare lifts. :-)
@@lucasthings Yeah, my favourite is probably the first lift shown in this video. Original 70s 2 speed Express! I’m normally very discreet with my filming. I only film when there is nobody around. :-)
Awesome that you’ve captured this one. I remember “finding” lift P when my daughter was born. It was raining heavily outside so cut through this block to the main building for some food, annoyingly my phone battery was dead from the previous night’s events so couldn’t film it.
The first one was in such a strange spot and like the other videos Ive commented on, the doors seem to mess up on these as well just typical old machinery behavior at its finest
Update : Unfortunatley the 2 express lifts by the main lift had its call fixtures changed into a massive and ugly dewhurst buttons, The 2 beds lift are being modernized into crap generic and the good news is that 1 express lift still has its original parts by the building opposite m&s cafe Bloody hell where did you find lift P and Q?
Ah, that’s a shame. Last time I was there I saw the set of 2 by the main lifts being modded. So is the second set of Express main lifts being modernised now then? Also, there’s the building which has 3 original 70s Expresses. (P and Q). Do you know if those ones are being modded at all?
Main lift got the call buttons changed into ugly dehurst but still fine Unknown hydralic lift with express call buttons are being modernized P and Q lifts I dont know about, Suppose there not modded Idk what building but the one opposite M&S are still original :) +I was the last person ever to ride main lifts / apollo as it get jumping to floor 0 and 1, I managed to ride it. Strangley it kept jumping to floor to floor Today the other lift with new express indicator was out of order!
Hello, I made an update about lift P And Q. Its actually in the academics, Not research building because theres no such thing as that and lift P wasn't working! Lift Q's lights are broken as they wont shine anymore.
I was there at the hospital on Monday and I saw that one of the main set of Expresses have had their buttons replaced to jumbo Dewhurst. And yeah, I also noticed lift P not working and the broken lights in lift Q. I’ve actually filmed the motor room for lift Q and I may publish it at some point! :-)
Cool, how did you see that? Lift q was faulty. When i was at 3rd floor I want to go to 4th floor but it took me down to 0! When I press 4 again. IT TOOK ME TO 3RD FLOOR and at last i got to the 4th floor noone was at those floors. Strange how the logics messed up. A5 wasnt working too! Its most likley they are going to modernize those 2 lifts instead of fixing because the company is defunct \ dont make lifts or parts anymore because they merged into express evans. All they do is modernize great lifts into ultra crap, Whats the point of modernizing a fully working appolo lift only lasting 20 years and express 40+ thats stupid. If the lift completley broke it has to be moderbized and probably the hospital doesnt have enough money to get an engineer.
How the hell have those things survived in a UK hospital original still? Are those the service lifts or something, because I can clearly see modernized/replaced lifts across the hall? Seems kinda funny saying this whilst being a worker in a hospital on the other side of the world that also still has original lifts (70s OTIS in my case) though the long process of of replacing them with new Schindler's is beginning to get underway!
Yeah, it’s kind of surreal seeing old Expresses in a public environment lol! These are actually all public lifts, and the second ones are the main lifts in the building! As for the main ones, they may look original but they have definitely had some weird sort of modernisation. It’s such a strange mod they’ve done to them. The lifts are from 1972, but they have 90s Express fixtures, but a generic logic and GAL door operator. I’m not really sure what to make of them. The first lift which is original from 1972 has a 90s Express inspection control. So I suspect Express were there in the late 90s bodging around and modding them with generic equipment. And yes, opposite the main lifts there’s another set of 2 which were modernised with Lester Controls a few years ago. They seem to be desperately only spending money on the lifts where they absolutely have to. There’s a couple of other lifts where they split up a set of 2 and just modernised one of them only lol. It’s very strange. It’s a shame about the 70s Otises where you work getting ripped out. Are they ripping out every single one?
It’s good to see that these old lifts still exist as old lifts don’t seem to exist anymore
Wow, what a place this elevator is really cool to find... Pretty death of this elevator, huh!! 😲😨
My nearest hospital, I did ride it before, and they did seem to survive for a long time. 2:56 I rarely hear the bell chime too
Cool!
Yeah, it’s really strange to hear the bell ring like that lol! It’s not supposed to do that.

Any favourite lifts here? I used to like the apollo but express more, Your also lucky to record them because staffs keep telling me off for recording

Lifts P and Q are in the research building behind the maternity block, if you walk around from the carpark. 3 original 70s Expresses!

Don't tell me it's Wellington Hospital
A1 havent got its fixtures changed? I didnt ride that lift because it was very busy A2 came woth modded fixtures
Yep, it’s very surprising to see Express buttons on a lift like that!
