    It seems to me that in Benidorm, even if you have a really well-built building with interesting architecture, they don't put the same effort into the lifts, and opt for cheap lifts from generic companies. A feather.

    you get it through a side path where there then are 2 small windows you can go through

    Tiles in lift shafts seem to be quite common in Spain, because in the past inner doorless lifts were very common. Those Schindler D Series probably replaced some in the 1990's.

    Hey Beno, have you been to Hilton Park motorway services? (specifically the northbound side), it’s owned by the same company as Lancaster services with the Pennine tower and it also has a 60s/70s Otis and a locked off 2nd floor restaurant

    Not suprised of the MP doing this😂 Those controllers are faulty as hell, also they cannot handle unexpected tasks like going down from the third floor to ground and pressing floor 1 while it's between 2 and 1 (It can not stop in time and shut's down a bit below door zone) While other lifts will continue to ground and then go up again after opening/closing doors at the ground floor....

    Why are there so many Orona lifts? Is it because Orona is a Spanish company so its more popular with Spanish building companies?

    • @KLEF710
      @KLEF710 7 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah probably. ThyssenKrupp seems pretty common in Spain too.

      @@KLEF710 Orona is Spanish

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  7 месяцев назад

      I can't stand the Spanish ThyssenKrupps. They are horridly cheap and run as bad as a generic lift. Plus ThyssenKrupps are notoriously bad to maintain. They are so bad that pretty much nowhere installs them anymore in the UK after their reputation was ruined for low quality and restrictive practices stopping other companies from maintaining them. A lot of isis lifts in the UK had their logic replaced with Lester when they were less than 1 year old. And the ThyssenKrupps in Spain seem even worse. In Spain they had an even worst version of the isis than the French version installed in the UK. And ThyssenKrupps new range of lifts have got very bad. There is the Spanish/Italian generic rubbish, which despite looking identical to a cheap generic, is actually worse than a generic due to having restrictive logic. Then there is the fake Ecodisc copycat lifts, which look kind of nice, but level as bad as a generic.
      As for Orona lifts, they are cheaply built with very thin metal. They are very common in Spain. It feels like 50% of all new installs are Orona. This should make maintenance easy as they are so common. Much better than ThyssenKrupp, but they won't last that long.

    • @KLEF710
      @KLEF710 7 месяцев назад

      @@benolifts They are awful. It's hard to believe ThyssenKrupp is even a major company with the quality of their lifts, which are nowhere near as good as Kone or Schindler. It's weird to think how generic logics like Lester Controls and TVC actually seem to work better than ThyssenKrupp's own ISIS logic.

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  7 месяцев назад

      @@KLEF710 I don't know how ThyssenKrupp messed up so badly with the French variant of isis, and I don't even know why they have 3 European variants in the first place (German, French and Spanish). Considering that the German version was the best type, I wonder why the UK was given the French version. The logic glitches out very easily. Even something as simple as driving it on inspection can make the lift stall. It is an entrapment risk as it can stop driving randomly at any moment. If it stops driving on inspection you have to release a door, switch back to normal, shut the door, wait for it to move, then put it back to inspection (not good if it stops a long way from a door). In the logic cabinet you can not tell what is happening as there are only a couple of status LEDs and there is no display to show fault codes. The serial port is proprietary encoded so that no other company can maintain it. And as all of the proprietary restrictions on lifts do not use encryption, it is all security by obscurity. All it takes is for someone good with electronic skills to monitor the serial port and slowly manage to crack the code and understand what the data means. This has been done with other models of lift. One of my friends was even doing this as a hobby. But as the French logic was only used in a couple of country's, there was not much commercial reason for a 3rd party company to bother cracking the code. This left building owners with the French isis with an unmaintainable lift.
