- Last of the Kris amps for a while and the biggest too. Mach 3+3. 1 6JU6 tube driving 3 6LQ6 tubes. Another no frills basic amp. No preamp, no special circuitry, just a basic grounded grid amp. I do see that Kris made an amp called the 600, but the schematic looks exactly the same as this. The manual also shows both the 600 and this are rated for 600 watts input and 300 watts output. Manual also says this has a maximum off 3 watts drive. I hit it with 4 watts from the big bad Tram D201. Recapped, good tubes, no issues does 340 peak with the D201 behind it, 290 peak with the Titan I 1 watt radio behind it and does about 200 average. The only thing not standard on this amp is the final tube input trimmers on each tube. Never seen that before. Normally see 1 trimmer (if any) for all the tubes. Not a bad little 200 or so watt amp. I likkie.

What can you do with a set of 4cx1000ks I have a set picked up a clean out n got them and 22 radios all work I have no use for the tubes

I have a D&A Phantom 10 tube I believe i've checked all i know but the raido will not key the amp . not a tube key is electronickey .any sugustions . King N.C.

That's the same setup as my kris big boomer
I think you are right. Mach 3+3, 600, and Big Boomer look pretty much identical from what I can gather.
It's a tossup as to who sold more amps, Kris or D&A. Kris amps were sold through the Echo Communications mail-order catalog (my first Echo catalog came in the mail well before the license did!) while D&As were sold through local dealers, and if the dealer didn't like you he wouldn't sell you an amp!
