John... You are AWESOME! Truly amazing concert! The 1st concert I EVER experienced was Jimmi Hendrix, Anaheim Convention center, January 1969... YOU topped that for me! Thanks for bring'n Sob Rock to Seattle! Bless you an your band! 🙏🎶🙏😘
@@niechcecika To prawda.
JM and the Band are incredible entertainers par excellence! They rocked out the whole SOB ROCK tour. Big PROPS to them! Much love and God bless them all ❣❣❣
I was there too. Been a fan for a long time, but had never been to Chase Center. It was a good venue and I enjoyed seeing him again. Thought he did a good mix of old and new.
Thanks for the upload. Fab stuff. I too am a fan in the UK and not too hopeful of seeing him here again live for some time yet. I think he has lots of other projects in the pipeline now he has left Columbia. Just grateful for all this good quality content and for what's to come from John in the future. He's the best
After all these years sine "Where the light is" he still has it. Most burn out by his age and can't play a show this well. Still selling huge venues too. And his music is kind of in the background these days. But his following certainly isn't. He's even adjusted to his changed voice well. Amazing man
Remember that the cd and dvd for where the light is is doused in autotune (he himself said this). His voice now is much better than what his live voice sounded like back then. Look up the live fan recordings from that show.
Yes it is. Notice how every other concert recording from that time he sounds completely different? If you search RUclips you can find the crowd recordings from where the light is.
Thank you VERY much for this! Do you still have the original video files? If so, would you consider uploading them somewhere? I'd love to have them for my personal collection :)
Can I poke the bear here...? Where are the Sob Rock songs? 3. And a track he played before the album and stuck it on the album. Take out Last Train, Til the Right One and Wild Blue and this is a 2019 concert. And the breaks between every song. I think he needs to push himself and his band to create clever fill arrangements and play songs in blocks of 3 or 4. Too much momentum is constantly lost. I had the honour of seeing lots of Prince gigs - no breaks in those. The band just played awesome rearrangements from start to finish. Sob Rock should be getting 7-minute renditions of its songs and huge arrangements like the ballad version of Last Train Home. Where's Why You No Love Me played over 6 minutes with a mind blowing solo?
Set changes nightly. Having a lead-in musician garners significant amount of time. This is the SOB ROCK tour, of course. And fans have favorites that don’t get played each night. Fans also love the camaraderie. I’m sure if/when he reads your comment, will be taken into account. But as John mentioned during concert at MSG, was first time playing there “with this many albums under his belt”-and the crowd also begs for favorite oldies.
Continuum is one of those records that transcends time. It would be hard for any musician to move fully on from something like that. I think he's done a pretty good job of evolving since then with battle studies, born & raised, paradise valley and sob rock. Search for everything IMO was a weak point. As far as sob rock goes I can put Last Train, Why you No love me, Wild Blue, Shot in the Dark, Til the right one comes, All I want is to Be with you on loop and be happy. IMO til the right one comes is the strongest on the record which I think says a lot because they've been pushing Last Train, Wild Blue and Shot in the Dark more.
If I'm 100% honest, I want a 2019 concert. His catalog is so vast and his fans are so connected to these songs that it would be a mistake not to play your bread and butter.
@@abbieceesay832 he'd be better off not promoting it as the Sob Rock tour then. I feel he's missing an opportunity to let those songs breathe over a longer duration. The album is short and the songs would benefit from extra time I concert to bring them alive. If Mayer stays around for 20 more years, you'll get plenty of greatest hits tours. At this point in his career, he should be pushing himself still though. (And to quote him on Wong Notes - "some of these songs can be played so many different ways and I want to recall amp some of these songs up" He isn't - yet.)

What time did he come on stage?
How can anyone handle two hours of elevator music?
Super Easy
Its John Clayton Mayer
Same reason we all Love James Taylor, Sting etc. They actually have super mega talent. Metal guys just cant hang. Probably a Kiss fan too huh? LOL!!!
