I’m actually pretty okay with this album. They just wanted to do their own thing. You shouldn’t be stuck to the same feeling, the same genre. These guys are just experimenting with the sound! Exploring music! It’s a beautiful thing! And I respect them for doing so! As Linkin Park, Radiohead and recently Bring Me The Horizon did to name a few. They stayed true. This is music! No sell-out trash! ✌️
Why shouldn't someone stick with the same feeling, the same genre? You just said you're ok with them doing their own thing. So if that was what they wanted to do, there should be nothing wrong with that.

Can't imagine them still playing that full-angst Nu-metal/Punk fused music as they did when they were younger. Even though in this new album there is one pretty raw punk song called "I Suffer Well", which I really like and recommend to listen. But that's not the point. The point is that they've evolved and yeah, they didn't had to, but I think they wouldn't fit into music world in any way if they did. No one would listen to the same thing all over again. You have to keep music interesting for people to listen to it as much as do it interesting for yourself. Best example is Radiohead's "Kid A" album, every Linkin Park album or the new BMTH's "amo". They're makin' interesting music with every album and it's always a big change from the other album. You just have to be open-minded about things. Exploring music, finding new things about it, about yourself. That's the power of changing and music. You can't improve yourself if you won't change. That's my opinion. =)

It’s been years since I’ve looked into anything Papa Roach related, but I’m so impressed with this album. It’s a blend of their classic nu metal and rock sounds from years ago with electronic stuff to make it sound modern. It’s that perfect balance just like The Connection, and it works so well. Plus lyrically it’s as relatable as it always has been. I wonder if I’ve missed an extra album before this one now.
