No one can beat his energy within extreme genres. I love his snare trick/fill souding like it's out of time or late. He did some of those with Hate Eternal and I'm really in love with them. Very creative drummer. I love his style. One of the very best 👌
Chason is the Tony laureano of this generation, omnipresent and extremely skillfully yet lays low, and if you don't know who Tony is then this comment worked its magic.
I remember this show The singer got wicked sick so the band played their setlist without their vocalist, was actually pretty good just to hear their songs as instrumentals Had a front row and definitely felt the musicians presence
Dude Chason is like one of the main reasons why I got into drumming! He fucking kills it dude! What a beast this man is, fuck this whole band was and still is the reason I get up in the morning! SO FUCKING GOOD MY FUCK! YOU ARE A BEAST AMOUNG BEASTS CHASON!🤘😈
This man is a fucking master of his craft. I've been playing 30 years, I know my shit, but this guy just amazes me every time. Chason Westmorland deserves so much more attention. He stands shoulder to shoulder with newer generations greats. Drummers like Eugene Ryabchenko, Kevin Paraidis, David Diepold, Jaime St Merat, Ken Bedene, etc. He's right there with legends like John Longstreth, Derek Roddy, George Kollias, Nickolas Barker, Dave Culross, and Flo Mornier, as well.
Found out about Chason when Burning the Masses dropped their first album and it's insane to me that he's continued to get better ever since and is still the highlight of any band he plays with over a decade and a half later.
Main snare tone is great but IMO better for a fat backbeat instead of blasts. Secondary snare is tuned so close to the first that it seems pointless to have. That being said, the drumming and technique are incredible. And that’s what matters most.
Beast of a player but man I hate that fat snare tuning. Especialy in a metal mix I like higher tuned snares it cuts through the mix more. This is more of my personal taste and not a knock on Chasom. I think fat snares sound bad in general
It’s actually tuned a lot higher & was processed lower via FOH. Main reason for this was the main snare was primarily supposed to be slower heavier sections and the side snare for blasts only, but because Chason is an absolute animal he used both for both. We don’t change the snare pitch in post anymore also.
Those drums had a family
😂😂
Archspire needs this man!!
The GOAT that too few people know of.
Known of him since Burning The Masses on MySpace
All my personalities know about him. We chase on him every night. That's why he be so frantic. Yes.
Holy hell 🤣🤘🤘🤘
sexxxx
I remember watching this guy in burning the masses what seems like a lifetime ago now. Glad to see him still ripping!
Goated og deathcore band
Bro I didn’t know this was him! I remember the yellow hued old videos 😭
Great drumming and sound! Thank you

Dude is hitting his cymbals like he finally got an endorsment, i hope this is the case, he deserves everything.

Execration text of nile just slays because Tony's hands are godly, he's just so good.
Word has it that Tony now rests on his laurels.
Chason makes any band he drums for at least 50% better
I first saw him with Oceano 2 years ago. 100%. I think he’s great for BOS tho
The double snare blasts make me go 😂 this dude is living in the 22nd century
I have somehow never heard of this guy before. He is incredible!
Okay this was legit insane. What the fuck did I just watch?
@@mack7170I hope that you can see BOS live at least once, they will be on the Motionless in White tour next winter
Chason definitely top 5 fav drummers ever
My first time ever learning about him was when he filled in for The Faceless. He looks like he's having way more fun here. Insane talent.
I remember this show

Absolutely sick chops.

The GOAT of this genre
That fuckin cymbal hit at :43 seconds is massive bro
Internethypeworthy🤘🖤. This is pretty good.
My Lord!!!!!! Beast!!!!

I like your list of greats ....either you are an old soul or you are as old and dusty as I am (41 fwiw)😂
Insane dude
Dude is such a ffffn beast!!!
Absolute legend.

The guy can play, damn !
Great speed technique
It's since the Burning the Masses days that I'm amazed that this guy isn't the drum hero he fucking deserves to be
0:42 About the coolest damned thing I’ve ever seen.
dopeeeee affff
Whaaaaat ?!!
F * ing Awesome man .
I had no idea Chason was with Brand, that explains alot!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
this was the instrumental set in Brissy yeah? I was there!
WTF!!!! Holy cannoli that was crazy. First 12 seconds made me want to retire!
Ahh, got them double strokes down as if he wasn't already leathal using singles only.

Archspire. Wait for it...
He could play Archspire stuff.....
This guy is pretty berserk..
Get out
2:36 what is happening here with the muted cymbals? Could it be that the audio track is from a different show?
Nope, it’s from the same show.
@@Salopiandan Ok but then why does the muting of the cymbals in the audio not align with your hands?
@@steffen2245 he only muted the left side crash, the hihat and right side crash still had decay noise from previous hits
@@winterkraul3716 senior lecha, fancy seeing you here
@@daseiinn LOL omfg man 😂😂😂
What's the point of the side snare if it sounds the same as the main snare? They're not triggered either.
My guess would be territorial rules. Notice he doesn't ever cross his arms. So when he closes the hit hat he still isn't crossing arms.
This guys is great, but why are people giving him all the credit for playing a song he didn’t write?😂
Snare tone lowkey sucks
I’ve heard way way worse than that

This band too boring for this dude
gotta make money doing something
I like bos, but they are somewhat overrated at the same time imo
He didn’t seem to think so
does homie have torniquets on his thighs? lol
His snare sounds like a coke can😅
At what point is this shit even considered music anymore?
Do you even listen to this genre?
Sean acts like people are forcing him to listen to it.
