Cheers Chris, still have the car buddy but lost the fight with the wife to keep the exhaust as she wouldn't drive saying it was too loud 😅 I'm looking for a new way to get it somewhere between the OEM sound and the Rev 9 🤔 I still have the takeda CAI which gives a great induction sound and recently fitted a evc throttle controller which I can highly recommend making the RC so much more responsive off the line. I will get a vid done soon 9n this as I really think it's a must for anyone that hates the throttle lag as much as I did 😁
i was looking at a greddy axleback exhaust for my rc350 but honestly, i think this might sound just as good if not better than the greddy, and its half the price. build quality is my only concern. i dont like that it has clamps
I would honestly spend the extra now buddy. These things sound ok but as you say it's the little things like stainless grade, clamps etc that may not do as well down the track.
@@orangecream2870 It's really personal choice mate. I did go this due to the price but compared to the quality of the tenabe I had on my IS350 with welds, stainless and sound (the most) I think I would spend the extra. Not sure if you've seen in the previous comments but I have moved the system on now as my wife didn't like how loud it was and the slight drone as she always drove in auto. To negate this and keep it sounding good I found you had to drive in manual to keep it in the sweet spot which I never had with the likes of the tanabe medallion
I actually sat the Rev9 gasket there and it didn't look like it was doing much at all so I left the OEM one in there instead. As for drone it has developed a bit as time has gone on, I changed out the OEM spring bolts to the rev 9 solid ones which seems to have helped but I find due to the 8 speed if I'm not driving in manual it tends to always sit around the 2-2.5k rom which does produce a little.
I wouldn't say I had any but as this is my wife's main drive (I'm a tradesman) and have it after hours she was complaining it was too loud and that's not a fight I was going to win 😅 so it's now gone to a new owner.
Sounds great. My is350 with the custom cat back is almost the same with windows up, not too noticeable, but with rear windows down at 1500 rpm it is a deep bass rumble. At 3000 to 4000 it's a deep roaring monster, then above 4000 it's a screamer. I've never heard it drive by from the outside so can't comment how others feel. 😂
@@twistedfatebuilds only dashcam but the quality's not great. I'm gonna get a hps intake and tom's filter and throw it on a dyno for 3 power runs to see what it does and sounds like. 😂
Sounds good. Ive just gotten my 19' RC350 F Sport, and am enjoying it being quiet, compared to my Mustang. But It is a bit..too quiet. Might look at this as an option!
Hey man! Saw your Takeda intake video and came straight here figuring the axleback finally came in, absolutely loving what you've done and the video's audio definitely doesn't do it justice! Have an axleback on my IS3-late right now and thinking of putting on a CAI on her as well but I'm worried she'll start guzzling more gas. Since you have both mods on your RC, have you noticed a drastic dip in fuel efficiency with tamer driving (120-130kph highway cruise speeds on normal drive settings) or has it gotten a little better?
Hey buddy, thanks so much for the comment :) To be brutally honest I have no idea of fuel consumption before or after as it's not something I really check or think about. I'm a simple man, tank empty, fill tank! lol. I wouldn't think it would really change as all you are doing is providing more free air in there apart from the fact it sounds soooooooooo bloody good you tend to drive in the upper rpm quite a lot (seriously hate getting bellow 2k now) so prepare for that :)
Not sure buddy, I took the bolts down to the shop and they matched them but since then I have changed the spring bolts back over to the bolts that come with the system as I don't think the OEM were giving a tight enough seal
There's is a touch that has only just developed around the 2k mark, from 2500 up it sounds amazing which I tend to keep it as I drive in manual most of the time. I'll let it carbon up and see what happens in a few weeks. Spoke to another guy running it and he reported none but is a couple of weeks behind me on install
Hi Joe, it did develop a bit of drone around that manic 2000-2500rpm. As mentioned on other comments I had to keep it in manual to avoid this area but as my wife drives her more than me she got sick of it so I've sold it now. I had a tanabe medallion on my last IS350 Fsport which had no drone whatsoever so may look at putting one back on the RC
Thanks Jorge, it's a nice deep tone inside. Not too loud but just there until you have the windows down then it's a fair bit louder but only at higher rpm when the induction really kicks in ;)
@@geort7401 It is, I wish the Tanabe wasn't as expensive here in Aus as I'd defo go that after I had one on my IS350 Fsport. You can tell the difference with the R&D they put in more exy systems with resonance resistance. I found I had to drive my RC in manual to keep it in the sweet zone due to the 8 speed transmission otherwise it can get a tad droney when it loosened up. As my wife drives the RC most of the time and in auto I ended up selling the system as she thought it was too loud and may look for something more balanced soon.

Question, when looking for the Rev9 FlowMaxx exhaust, I see the 2015-2018 axle-backs, Im assuming that fits the 19 and newer models, yea?
Awesome mate, if your looking for a bit more noise b4 the exhaust the cold air intake is 100% worth the spend. Gives a nice throaty induction 😉
