    Look at that little mob of Leeds in Sheffield Utd's Kop at 35:30!!! They're in front of a gate for a sharp exit!!! Loved that away end at Bramhall Lane, sadly gone now with soulless seating..

    Brilliant! Some great memories, was at most of those. Best season as a Leeds fan, better than winning the last 1st division 2 years later. Agree with you city fans, football has sold its soul, middle class sport, charging £600 for kids to be mascots, shameful.

    I only missed one game at home that season, managed to get in about six away games. I had forgotten how poor we were away, it was the home record that got us up. I really enjoyed seeing all those fans climbing over the fencing at the end of the game.... I was through one of the open gates before most were over.....good days!

    Great video, very interesting. I love football and have supported CARLISLE since 1982 i can really see how these would have been great times to follow a great club.

    I was only 12 years old and went to a few of these away games in this massive season - I'm pretty sure I was at the Brighton game - I remember a pitch invasion from Leeds at the end (unusual when away from home) and also, a pub I was at with my dad and his mates before-hand which was full of loads of Leeds fans - there was a minor car crash outside... with the Leeds fans singing 'you don't know what your doing' to the people in the crash (only pride was hurt in the crash I might add)... Was anyone there or can confirm these events, or the year!!! Cheers
    Edited to say my dad did a grand job bringing me up as Leeds as I'm doing with my lad too, taking me all the way to Brighton with his mates as a twelve year old! MOT

      Jamie Milner Leeds are one of the handful of clubs in the country who have the away support to do that and I'm not a Leeds fan but I'd rather watch this than the crap played now

      bascet1 totally agree football is a joke now I find any videos I can like this even though I don’t support the teams in question it just reminds me when it was a proper game not face painted idiots, no tackling and a millionaires bank balance to buy a ticket!!

    Fantastic memories there, went to most of them games, always delayed kick off cos there were that many of us to cram through the turnstile like cattle with the mounted constabulary trying there best to trample us to death, luvd every minute of it,not like todays sterile corporate money making sham , true fans back then lot more tribal than now,they couldn't give 2 fucks about real fans now TV money is wot it's about now

      So is someone forcing you to watch modern football?
      If you don't like it don't watch it. Get another hobby like carpet bowls or knitting.

    • @mrkipling2201
      @mrkipling2201 6 лет назад

      Clive Bindley I don’t why would I want to waste my time and money watching silly overpaid prima donnas falling over at the slightest touch and going to sterile crappy boxes where people get their phones out all the time and wouldn’t know what an atmosphere was if it bit them on the arse.

    • @mrkipling2201
      @mrkipling2201 6 лет назад

      Clive Bindley great another keyboard warrior who hides behind insults when they have nothing else to say strange how I’m not the only one on here who feels that modern football is crap or have you not read any other comments?? And why is it that when someone on here doesn’t like something you get someone who doesn’t only disagree but makes personal attacks. Hmmm strange that....

    It makes me fucking angry to see the way the game has gone today and even angrier for the fact that we allowed it to happen?!!!!!!!!!?? 37 to 45 quid to watch a catagory A game at Elland road?! I'd rather drink my own piss!

    • @trippy2johno280
      @trippy2johno280 8 лет назад +1

      ***** There's a fundamental difference between "moaning" and stating the obvious lol & how could you possibly empathize with me or any other "moaner" if you have no concept of the way the game used to be?
      (YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T)
      And i don't go to the games anymore because my passion for the game has been diluted by a sea of corporate bullshit that has infested the game, it's a load of bollocks mate lol
      Of course the game is a business, it always has been lol but "greed" is the order of the day regarding the modern game and if you think it's acceptable to charge championship fans 45 to 52 quid (SHEFF WEDS) to watch third rate football then your head is firmly rooted up your arse mate.
      In terms of value for money the German league pisses all over the premier league & the fans over there don't get ripped off like they do over here.
      And their national side are the world champions lol
      Greed is greed mate no matter how much you try & dress it up as acceptable business?!! and it hasn't really done our national side any good has it?
      England are fucking useless! lol
      And let's be honest here, all the millions of pounds floating around in football is simply lining the pockets of the wankers who run the game & it's also turning average players into egotistical millionaires
      The fans in England get ripped off to kingdom come, only a gullible fool would deny that.

    • @trippy2johno280

      ***** So that was your pedantic lecture on "capitalism" was it then Einstein?! fuck me,, i feel enlightened now ha ha
      that was rather patronizing & condescending don't you think ?! lol
      I know what greed is when i see it you ding dong so spare me the silly commerce lesson.
      It's a well know fact that the working class mans pleasures have been hijacked by the corporate machine
      The average working man has been priced out of the game & that is greed no matter what angle you try & approach it from, One day the game will self implode

      I'm a Manchester City fan and paid £32 to watch us play (and beat!!) Barcelona on 1/11/2016. My mate went watching Oldham Athletic in League one a week or two earlier and paid £27. Obviously City are a rich club but there's something wrong for a £5 more you can see Messi, Aguero et al? The £30 away tickets are a start, how can a 13 yr old afford £20 plus to watch football every other week? Hope Leeds come back to the Premiership where they belong. Loved going to Elland Rd. We are running out of traditional, old stadiums. Just getting soulless, generic applause arenas these days .
