That way you get to see the impact your choices have as you play through the games.
Also in ME1, if you hear your companion make a noise like a cough, sigh, etc., stop and talk to them. One cool one is with both Ashley and Kaidan, walk by the relay statue in the financial district and then talk to them both.

Not really. Example: on Edolus, there's a wrecked shuttle South of your starting point; it's useless, but there's mining West, South & East of it. However, the mining will only appear if you searching beyond the immediate area of the Point of Interest.
ME1 sniper rifles originally had annoying drift you could reduce by leveling. This was to balance the insta-kill and prevent players from charging around with it like a hip shot uber shotgun. But Legendary Edition listened to player's demands.
I agree, the Mako controls are a matter of preference. One way to explain it for PC players is that Camera Relative Steering will mostly require that you shoot in the direction the vehicle is pointed, while if you turn this off, you can move and steer the Mako with WASD while simultaneously turning and aiming the gun with your mouse independent of the vehicle direction (like the way it was in the original ME1). Hope this helps, thanks again for making the video! (Yes, I always play Paragon 😉🤣.)
The amount of XP you get does not depend on the level scaling option. They upped the XP so you can do one play through. They added the option of compressing each two levels into one level with twice the benefit, so you aren't leveling every few minutes, especially early in the game.
That is what it was ? I was confused as hell when they talk about it and the level cap. It sounded obvious to go to Classic Mode to have 60 level instead of just 30 (hence twice the amount of skill point - at least I thought at this time)
Just played ME1 for the first time and completed a playthrough. Enjoyable game. I found 'cash' in general to be pretty much redundant to be honest, apart from buying a couple of spectre pistols. Most of the best weapons, armor and weapon mods are found in lockers/crates for free during side mission locations. I finished the game with about 3 million in the bank and nothing to spend it on.
First time playing it and I spent an hour roaming around planets unaware I was able to get out of the Mako cause they never told me how I could(for Xbox users it’s B)
Another tip for the shops. The inventory only resets when you level up. Also, for the guy on the Normandy. He has 4 different inventories. 1 for when you are docked at the Citadel, 2 for when you are docked at Noveria, 3 for when you are docked at Feros, and 4 for when you are anywhere else.
Pretty sure you're wrong about the difference between legendary and classic scaling. The only difference is how the points are split over the total levels. In the new legendary one it's double points per level but half the levels. Both legendary and classic have been reworked to allow players to reach lvl 60 in a single playthrough
Idk how people do it honestly. Ony my first playthrough, I played on Insanity, and did every single quest in the game, including all the minerals and crashed probes. I barely made it to level 27 (in Legendary Mode). Do you have to do the missions in some particular order?
@@jirkazalabak1514 I don't think that would change anything. I expect to get to lvl 60 you basically need to do everything in the game. When I finished my me1 LE playthrough, I was lvl 55. Wish I had gotten one more as the import benefits for me2 are apparently the same if you hit lvl 56-60 in me1. Sounds like you were about the same as me. I did just about everything, but I could have done some more stuff I'm sure.
@@Ingwaz_Seishu Sure, but the final 4 levels take almost as much as the previous 55 levels. I just don´t get how you can reach 60 in one playthrough without cheating.
Don't know what your leveling issue was. I'm guessing you missed a lot of things. I searched each system available at the start and was level 43 before I even got to the first story planet (Feros) Finished at level 60 using classic leveling.
@@SaneNoMore I played Legendary Edition when it first came out, so it´s quite possible they fixed it by now. When I was scouting the forums at the time however, they only way people could reach 60 was by abusing the laser on Therum.
I waited to play the mass effect series or look at much of it. Knowing one day there would be a remastered version and hopefully additional games. I just got the trilogy about a month ago and started playing a few days ago. Mind blowing and amazing. Everything I've hoped for. 🙏🤘🥰
I only want to make a counter against the 'Credits > Gel' point that this should only be applied to any gear that is ranked AT LEAST 6 or above. Reason for this? If it's item lvl 1 or 10, they always spit out 4 gel per scrap (unless you're on a class where you can boost that number- not sure what it goes up to, but keep this in mind), so any early stuff that sells for cheap... don't sell it. Just scrap it for a good stash of omni-gel early in the game. With some of the story-integrated hack attempts having a bypass of at least 100 gels per (or something like that), you will have amassed the necessary amount quickly and early. This way, you can still sell your higher lvl items (6+) for high amount of credits while scraping the low lvl items for gel- a perfect balance of the two for both early and endgame.
@@akale2620 I have the game guide from back in the day, and I put the hack for that, along with the one for the laser on Therum (super easy) and the AI on the Citadel on a note on my phone 😁
I’m new to the series. I’ve always loved (old) BioWare, especially KOTOR and Jade Empire. After seeing the legendary edition on GamePass, I had to pick it up. 2 weeks after, and I’m already almost done with ME2, unlocking loyalty in EVERY crew member, and exploring every planet in every system lol I can’t get enough of this series. I saw the negative reviews of andromeda, and that’s such a dang shame. I seriously hope BioWare somehow escapes the yolk of EA, and becomes the BioWare that we all knew and loved.
I just started the Legendary edition myself after playing the original game when it was pretty new. I cannot believe how much it reminds me of KotOR. Such a fun game, and I'm thrilled to be playing it again after so long. Never played 2 or 3, so I'll also be experiencing them for the first time
I HATED Bioware for abandoning KOTOR to do Jade Empire, and never even considered playing that game. But it probably worked out for the best, because KOTOR 2 was even better than KOTOR 1.
You should never be hitting the inventory max. Regularly equip your squad with the best stuff and sell the rest. The requisition officer is right there across from the equipment lockers, lol. Legendary edition even gives you the ability to mark said items as junk, so you can then sell them all at once instead of individually like in the original version. So you have literally no excuse to be a pack rat. Also, instead of switching out ammo types all the time, keep one type in one gun, and another type in another gun. It's faster to switch from the assault rifle to the pistol, for example, than going through a bunch of menus to switch mods on one gun.
not sure i agree with one ammo type per gun. sometimes you need a shotty against a krogan, don't want the gun loaded for anti-synth damage when it's charging me. swap ammo.
Do not ever give Garrus and James typhoon assault rifle if you want to enjoy the ME3. I have beaten armax arena challenges on insanity with ease. It is mesmerizing to watch them annihilate/obliterate/destroy banshees before them in seconds. All you have to do is hide somewhere and not die for a few seconds untill they eradicate anything more complex than a wooden stick.
I've only played on classic mode so some of this might not carry over to legendary, but here are a couple things I'd recommend. I think it's actually better to breakdown early level 1/2 items instead of selling them. The early gear is only worth a couple hundred credits, compared to later gear that's worth thousands, but they're all worth only 4 omni-gel when broken down. If you're getting close to the item limit, you can put upgrades you aren't currently using on weapons/armor you aren't currently using. It only counts them as one item so you can turn 3 or 4 items into 1. This can be helpful if you start getting the item limit message at the beginning of a level and then have a bunch of expensive loot drop. For the mini games to open lockers and probes I had several times it would fail unexpectedly that I believe was the fault of my TV trying to smooth out the picture, switching it into gaming mode seemed to help. For tech skills related to unlocking probes (electronics) and lockers (decryption) specialization is a better strategy, especially early on, than having a jack of all trades. You can unlock any object when the skill level gets to 9 (first available at level 8) and for most missions you can finish the combat portion, return to the Normandy, and then come back with the squadmate you need to unlock any containers you weren't able to open on your initial run through the planet. Having one character specialize in each let's the other players dump more points into combat focused talents.
There is a conversation loop you can exploit on Noveria with Lorik Qui'in to max out your paragon or renegade stat you must have at least 5 stat points in ether charm or intimidate
@@Soradakanizat Sometimes it's nice to play the game if you are at full, just to see what happens. Especially if gone through story so many times. Kinda like New Game+
Really on higher difficulties you’re gonna want to set it so you manage your squad’s power usage. Having them AI hack or overload the wrong target at the wrong time forcing you to wait for the long cool down can easily get you killed
I've finished a few Insanity runs, and never had a noticeable problem with this. I occasionally use the HUD, but I've always played with companions having fully autonomous use of their powers.
@@KravMagoo yeah you don’t HAVE to micro manage your squads powers but after doing multiple play throughs both ways I find it helps me out especially early on before you turn into an unstoppable killing machine at higher levels. If you’ve got a charging krogan, rocket trooper in your face, or some merc with a shotgun managed to flank you while your shields are down I find it much more helpful to be able to freeze the game and have a squad mate hit them with throw or sabotage to keep them from instantly killing you. It’s a get out of jail free card that you miss out on if you let them use their powers whenever they want.
@@Nichi-Ji The first time I recall definitely using the HUD to control my team on my last playthrough is the fight with the krogan after picking up Liara. Even on insanity, it ended up being a cakewalk. Whole thing was over in about 8-10 seconds.
Just as a headsup about ammo in ME1. The combat is so easy in that game that you will be tearing everything down on Insanity difficulty. Just stick with Tungsten ammo all the way through.
I just started playing Mass Effect today and this video like all your other tips videos HD already helped me so much. And to all h other comments THANKS I am using them all.
Actually there’s no level cap when playing with classic scaling like there was in the OG mass effect. Legendary scaling puts the XP system more in line with ME2 and 3 where it’ll take longer to level up but your get a bunch of points to spend at one time. Classic mode allows you to level up faster but only gives you one or two skill points to invest at a time. Regardless of which XP system you choose you’ll achieve the same level by the end of the game
When you found explosive rounds it is pretty much right pick against any type of enemy. Just shoot under them with shotgun to blew them into selling. Much more fun than just shooting with any other types of rounds.
8:46 Showing the TOWERS OF HANOI PUZZLE as a top example for what your seriously need the GEL is excellent. In fact that puzzle is an inheritance from KotOR 1 were you find a very similar LOGIC RIDDLE to solve. But if you want to avoid major headaches because you are not the MENSA - TYP scipping that for saving your nerves is a good idea 9:05 MONEY IS MORE VALUABLE THAN GEL : I disagree here. In general Part ONE gave you TO MUCH MONEY. That is something what was corrected in Part Two. In general it depends on how good you are mastering the solitaire puzzles in the game. IF NOT -- save more GEL.
Holy frickin' shipwreck bro... Thank you! Loved, subbed, and desperately needed. Concise; I played through the game years ago, Mass effect 1, on ps3. I have it now on Xbox One X legendary Edition and I just wanted to reaffirm some things and this was very helpful. 10/10
I remember when I first played this game and I just started playing Mass Effect 3 straight away, without importing Shepard from ME 1 and ME2. I didn't play ME1 and ME2 at all, but started with ME3. I didn't know you can import it. My friend was so annoyed at me for that lol
Good short n sweet guide. I am about 6-7 hours in ME1 and it is my first time in the series. I like it so far. I started on Veteran and I manage to keep Shepard alive in combat but for some reason my squad is almost on the ground the entire fight. I gave them better armor and I try to put them behind cover but they never last very long ... Any tips ?
Command them to regroup/stay back if they keep getting knocked out, you can do this with the directional pads on PlayStation and Xbox (not sure for PC) also make sure that you’re squad complements your play style, like I’m an infiltrator so I have Ashley as my heavy/soldier, and Liara as my support
@@fizzrpg9961 I also play as an Infiltrator. I just got Liara and fully intend to use her in my team amd to romance her ! I really wanted to also use Garrus because I like him a lot.
@@HanzsKlopek I’m romancing her as well! I’d recommend bringing a soldier rather then Garrus since he’s similar to an infiltrator, but that’s your choice :) play how you want!
@@HanzsKlopek np! also, always check in with your squad on the Normandy before/after missions (or whenever) that’s how you can get to know them, romance them, and develop their characters, as well as get the side quests for Wrex and Garrus, also if you romance Liara and port your character into the second game, your romance continues as she appears in DLC, so don’t romance anyone in the next games as it counts as cheating.
Great info except one error: killing in the Mako absolutely does reduce experience earned as opposed to not using it (7:12 kills an enemy for 213 XP, 9:34 XP is 26 for a tougher enemy). Great way to level up fast is take the health down using the mako gun, then get out and snipe them for bigger xp gain.

Disappointed with close quarters element tbh , was hoping get more close quarters stuff like FNV and vanguard using seems to make things harder. Was easier playing a sentinel. Think I got the skills now working for vanguard because it was getting annoying
Legendary scaling leveling will make you miss out on conversation checks as the first that you get from the 3 people on Eden Prime doesn't allow you to make the check but on the original level scaling you can make the check. Just saw that lastnight.
currently infiltrator shepard on insanity i one shot a geth juggernaut with the assassination skill with it at advanced tier giving my 250% bonus damage + anti armor ammo (25% bonus damage) + the spectre unity that gave me another 3% bonus damage after modifiers + and finally bonus damage headshot using a reaper 3.0 sniper rifle with high caliber rounds 2.0 (bonus 20% damage) it was overkill i think although i did not use the warp overload that would of lowered his damage resistance by 25% and made him susceptible to 30% more damage. so far fun times :D

As a complete newcomer, I think this video will be very helpful. Thanks for making it!
First time playing it and I spent an hour roaming around planets unaware I was able to get out of the Mako cause they never told me how I could(for Xbox users it’s B)
Facts, they didn't tell you the controls for the first time
Another tip for the shops.
Exactly. That puzzle is too annoying in noveria. Takes 100 to bypass.
@@akale2620 I have the game guide from back in the day, and I put the hack for that, along with the one for the laser on Therum (super easy) and the AI on the Citadel on a note on my phone 😁
Thinking about playing this series again.
I was gona wait for a price drop but I gave in and bought it a couple hours ago lol.
It's faster to switch from the assault rifle to the pistol, for example, than going through a bunch of menus to switch mods on one gun.
not sure i agree with one ammo type per gun. sometimes you need a shotty against a krogan, don't want the gun loaded for anti-synth damage when it's charging me. swap ammo.
Yeah the ammo in certain guns thing is a bad idea. You have to be able to switch guns based off needs. Not ammo.
Most squadmates level two or more guns. Building one for synthetics and one for organics is the compromise between micromanagement and gameplay.
Never played any of these games & just bought the collection. Waiting for this sucker to download so thanks for the vid.
Came for the fallout guides, stayed for the good content
When one of your favorite you tubers likes your comment
There is a conversation loop you can exploit on Noveria with Lorik Qui'in to max out your paragon or renegade stat you must have at least 5 stat points in ether charm or intimidate
Great! But is there any perk to it? I mean what do you get for being paragon that early in game?
It's a slow go at first, but an all biotic squad is the most OP thing possible in the 1st one.
The infinite paragon / renegade glitch from the original mass effect still works in the legendary edition so you can max both out in 1 play through.
How?

Far as I know there are ALWAYS 3 resource nodes on every landable planet, can be frustrating to find and reach them though :)
Thanks for the tips Caedo I’ve been playing the legendary edition man I’ve missed mass effect.
As someone who played the entire ME series on PC, the mouse driven mako is soooooo much easier to drive.
When you found explosive rounds it is pretty much right pick against any type of enemy. Just shoot under them with shotgun to blew them into selling. Much more fun than just shooting with any other types of rounds.
real
I always have my Shepard use chemical or polonium ammo as soon as possible
8:46 Showing the TOWERS OF HANOI PUZZLE as a top example for what your seriously need the GEL is excellent. In fact that puzzle is an inheritance from KotOR 1 were you find a very similar LOGIC RIDDLE to solve. But if you want to avoid major headaches because you are not the MENSA - TYP scipping that for saving your nerves is a good idea
9:05 MONEY IS MORE VALUABLE THAN GEL : I disagree here.
Really useful stuff, great vid thanks
love this game sooooo much !
I remember when I first played this game and I just started playing Mass Effect 3 straight away, without importing Shepard from ME 1 and ME2. I didn't play ME1 and ME2 at all, but started with ME3. I didn't know you can import it. My friend was so annoyed at me for that lol
I literally did not use credits for my entire playthrough
Once I realized the guns don't need ammo I immediately forgot all about money
@@roryscott2941 but why. You can buy weapons and armor that is next to impossible to loot
The mako did have an xp penalty in original ME1. They removed that for legendary.
Awesome! I will use these tips in my game play.
Mass effect is still one of my all time favorite games juat restarted up a new game after a couple urs of not playng it.
So much I didn't know! Thank you! :)
Fast Travel is good, but you can skip side quests if you do it too much. S every now and then walk around just to make sure no new npc's spawned.
That particularly annoying puzzle on noveria seems to pop up in other bioware games to, I remember It being in kotor
@@fizzrpg9961 Thanks :)
Pretty sure the mako options aren't there on consoles, only PC.
Because consoles don't need them 👍
Very good video! Great job! Subbed

Legendary scaling leveling will make you miss out on conversation checks as the first that you get from the 3 people on Eden Prime doesn't allow you to make the check but on the original level scaling you can make the check. Just saw that lastnight.
Nah, I did it on legendary, no issue there
Really useful, ta!
currently infiltrator shepard on insanity i one shot a geth juggernaut with the assassination skill with it at advanced tier giving my 250% bonus damage + anti armor ammo (25% bonus damage) + the spectre unity that gave me another 3% bonus damage after modifiers + and finally bonus damage headshot using a reaper 3.0 sniper rifle with high caliber rounds 2.0 (bonus 20% damage) it was overkill i think although i did not use the warp overload that would of lowered his damage resistance by 25% and made him susceptible to 30% more damage. so far fun times :D
Critical tip when playing the original game on a modern amd cpu. Reshade will save you a headache in looking for a fix to the black blobs of Noveria and a few other places after that.
PC tip: Play Vinalla once 1-3 then play with mods. Makes it sooo much better -- I like le3 the best with mods.

I may have lost some respect for you, Caedo.
Garrus is my forever bromance, but he's bland in combat in ME 1 with no real story incentives like in 2 and 3 to make up for it. Liara and Tali/Kaidan are a better combo. Casters trump combat, especially in ME 1.
Hi thanks for tip video your tips are very helpful :) have some of this for the other ME games?
Wb Steve? Shteve was shexy.. 'BING'
but a tip a player gave was, you will get the same omni gel for a weapon, regardless of its power or cost, so it's better to convert shit weapons to omni gel early in the game, and only start selling decent weapons later on! confused now.

in ME1 just at the beginning buy stuff, but increase hacking and electronic, so you will be able to open any crate in the game very easy and do not need to buy nothing, and you will earn also alot of credits. when you get to 1 million credit you will start getting level x (level 10) items / weapons/armors. the game in veteran is very easy i just died at the begining of the game and a few times in general.
