vMix Visits: TFMG- Remote studio for sports with SRT and Instant Replay.

We visited Thought Fox Media Group in Newcastle to have a look at their studio that they use for remote sports SRT production. They have a central vMix studio that they use to produce sports from over 800km away! Using SRT they can have multiple cameras remotely that send video and audio to create their live streams.

Hey Glen!
The sync is pretty bang on as long as you have the latency set the same for both encoder boxes or both SRT inputs. Just remember when you're adjusting your latency that SRT will always default to whichever has the largest delay set out of the Caller and Listener, so always check the latency settings on both the encode and decode side of things if something doesn't look quite right.

How do you manage the game time? Do you look at the arena score board on your camera(s) and keep it in sync with the stream graphics, or do you get some (RS485) signal from the arena? Or camera operators are telling you the time, time to time (sometimes) ?

(TFMG cam op here) cam ops report directly to the production room over coms from the in-house scoreboard
During intermission the close cam is locked on the board so the director can see in real time (minus any latency buffer)
