The one thing that was missing was a way to turn the PIPs off. I solved this by creating a blank input and replacing the PIP with the blank input and that made it invisible. It also had the effect of pausing any videos that played within the PIP. In addition, I converted Input 1 in the 9-up scene to be full-screen. I then panned input 2 (top center) to be top left. Now I can not only toggle various PIPs, but I can also dynamically change the main scene as well - One scene to rule them all! Thanks for this.
Thank you for this video. I have a question...is there a shortcut that would allow me to swap 2 sources? IE: I have a 2 box and I want the left and right sources to swap, regardless of what source I have selected. I'm not seeing anything that may let me do that. Thank you!
I have been looking for layer input shortcuts especially the names given by the makers of vmix .. Wooo boy I will buy you a beer 🍺 when u come to Amsterdam
Is there a way for resizing a layer box, like your bees horizontal rectangle to vertical horizontal or from horizontal layer size to square? of course without cropping?
Following each step as literally as possible, using Streamdeck as control device. Cannot get layers to trigger at all, let alone as easily as this video shows. Any ideas?
I don't get why pressing "logo" at 11:54 doesn't instantly change the input on the screen. You have defined the input on the screen to be dynamic1, and pressing "logo" changes the value of dynamic1, so the change should be instantaneous.
Just something unrelated I thought about while watching this. Why is both "Recording" and "MultiCorder" turned on at the same time. Cant multicorder record all the channels? Is it to record at different quality?
Unfortunately not, it's not really designed for that. Merge is usually used for moving or transitioning content and not just switching out layers. You could use the MIX option to transition between overlayed content. www.vmix.com/help24/index.htm?Mix.html
Having watched the whole video I now see why Tim didn’t do it. It’s far too complicated for him to bother. So they got someone professional in instead.
A good day. With layers, everything is clear and everything works, but! as soon as I assign setlayer, nothing works. constantly gives an error If I understood correctly, the index 1,2,3,4, etc. is the original layer on which the action takes place, and the second is the layer that I want to see when replacing the action. But again a mistake, what is the mistake? KeyDown.ES_BadFormat
Good tutorial that guides to the point! Generally I prefer written tutorials but vMix uses videos in the right way.
Every video is a fantastic learning experience. Many thanks Heath !
This tutorial was awesome! I’ve needed this and didn’t know it existed! Thank you!
Heath, your explanation is very on point and also very much in tone with Tim's tutorials. I love it. Not entirely unrelated: I like your T-Shirt.
You're a great teacher. Thanks!
I don't know who you are but I love you man this is so helpful I work with 50 plus input shows on the regular !
Good tricks!! Vmix Shortcuts to rule them all
Excellent tutorial!

Tnx a lot Vmix ate neng
This is great... Is there a way to attach a transition to a layerOn and Off to make them appear smoother?

Thanks for answering the very question that I had after watching this.
@@Paul-pd1kq You're very welcome.
This is AWESOME. I just wish there was a way to fade the layers in instead of just having them hard cut
Heath is my new favorite

yes, you can do that in multiview

is it possible to move layers using transitions?
is there anyway to setdynamic 1 to selected input
Flying head: let me show you how to set that up first.

Good morning Sir: thank you for this great video: may God Almighty empower you in Jesus' Name
When does the Mac version come out?
Haha. That's a good one! :)
Can you have them fade in or merge instead of just cut?
Unfortunately not, it's not really designed for that. Merge is usually used for moving or transitioning content and not just switching out layers. You could use the MIX option to transition between overlayed content. www.vmix.com/help24/index.htm?Mix.html
Please note it is a 'Comma' between Index and Input NOT a 'Period'!
Thanks for that. I guess you're Martin's brother. Am I right?
Unfortunately not. He's Martin's 2nd Uncle, twice removed on his mother's side.
@@vMixhd Oh no... I lost my bet at William Hill... 🙃 Like two eggs... O.K. one of them is furry... 😉
Hey, where is Tim?!! I’m calling the police. SOMEONE HAS KIDNAPPED TIM!!!! Help!!!! We are over here!!!

Bingo!
Though it would be fun to put his beard on layer 1 and turn it on or off at will.
Where is Timmy?
Who is this Timmy? It's Heath O'clock now!
Please... don't zoom video...
