Super excited that you're doing this tutorial. It's been always super convoluted how to route audio when recording video calls with Google meets and zoom.
@@vMixhd Yes, i play with vmix over a year now and i have dipped my hand in almost every aspect of the software, with great success. I can confirm that audio, is the most complicated part of the program, but also the most powerful feature of it. Best streaming production software out there. If also had a spout input output like obs, well that would be perfect...
Thanks for a very good and MOSTLY easy to follow explanation. A bit of playing with these buses and it'll make even more sense, but I now get the idea and never before had any idea what applications we had for the buses or how to expand the audio layout.
I figured out the idea of sending a private back channel audio from the producer to vMixCallers early last year during the height of the pandemic. It worked out great, being able to communicate and Queue vMixCallers during a live production. The text chat function just wasn't working as callers most times don't notice new messages. (Perhaps a popup or some blinking text or indicators might help.)
I hate indiscoverability. If resizing the mixer doesn't show the other bus buttons, RFE: make sure that at least the first 2 lettered buses *which are enabled on a channel* populate the buttons on that channel?
Can you make a video on how to connecting the RODECaster Pro 2 to vMix via ASIO. I have followed the steps in your knowledge base and I can't hear my audio in my RODECaster headphones.
Audio buses make it extremely easy to control the audio. But not being able to route the bus that goes to the master for the vmix call was bad. This gets in the way, because here I use all the microphones in the studio on a single bus to facilitate the control and application of filters, But as it doesn't come out in VMIX Call I can't use the BUS for that.
Actually I really poweruse the BUSes as volume controle for input groups. (Music, Calls, Videos, GameSound etc.) and then BUS F as a Talent Monitor channel just for me and setting up bus G with my mic talents ans select inputs for the talent to listen to.
However, you can’t adjust the levels per mix. If you want bob to be (0-10 level) 8 on bus A, but we want his level to be 2 on bus B, nope. That would be a life changer.
Can someone please help me understand how to hear myself when I have guest on my live stream without feedback? I am using a cam-link with a Blackmagic 4k pro but I can't see the best way to put get the audio in and out .
Please add ability to select a Bus as an audio source in Multicorder. Currently there are only Master, Input and None. I want to record 4 stream duplicated Output as input, with different audio each
aaargh come on, :D MP4 supports unlimited channels, we have spent days testing using vMIX instead of OBS and it is almost perfect, and so much better than OBS. 😭 BUT I can't import vmix avi into Final Cut Pro. :( I suppose I can just record in MP4 and merge the audio file. and whats with the 6 channels that is not a thing. I know vmix avi can be imported into Premiere but that is not an option for me. :/ Well, I guess I will have to use the wave file. :/
This may be possible if you assign different buses to output to different monitors. You may also need to rename the monitors if they are the same, so that vMix knows which is which.
ihave a voice recorded onBus C i cant retrieve the audio back to play out i copy to play back the video i cant hear any sound how can i get the audio back i stream to facebook live and recorded thr stream was fine with voice but the recording no voice output
Hi, you can do this by unselecting M (Master) on any of the audio sources you don't want to go on the stream. Alternatively you could add all the audio you want on the stream to a Bus, and then select that Bus as your audio source for your stream. There is some info about that here- ruclips.net/video/OTW0BRyXh_I/видео.html
I love it that you put on a beige jacket after the news cast. Video is informative and funny
Again, good stuff, just getting into the thick of vMix, previous experience on Ross Carbonite and Tri-Caster. You gents rock!

Yep, audio can often be the trickiest part of a production. Hopefully this video offers the key concepts to allow anyone to do it.

Glad it was helpful!
You are fantastic! I always look forward to your videos, by far my favorite presenter!

Thanks, Heath, etc all. We'll put together tutorial. I find this kind of video very useful.
With this video I learned the importance of beige jackets. WHERE DO I GET ONE?!
Excellent tutorial, Heath! You're going to put Tim out of a job!
That's the plan!
Lol. Negative. Tim has been there for years.
I hate indiscoverability.

The audio mixer UI really needs improvement

What does 1+2 mean to the right of the bus in the audio settings?

hello brothers how send audio vcall to mixer brother?
Yea, just missed the livestream. So, i`m asking again(asked on the previous live): how about a Discord server?
However, you can’t adjust the levels per mix.

Agreed. Needs to be more like a matrix mixer, not just sending to a bus..
@@conradhendricks177 more like a aux/bus send for a band.
@@tomfoolery4077 yes.
YEP - NOT REALLY A "MIX" PER BUSS AS MUCH AS "SEND A CHANNEL" TO A BUSS
How do we set the bus to be multichannel for e.g. 5.1 surround 'streaming' ?
This software is awesome 🤤🤑
Helpful thanks
Can I use a BUS to send only the microphone of the speaker in the conference room to Zoom and prevent the audio from going into larsen?
Reach out to us from our website support page and we should be able to help you with this.
Can bus A be split into two? Left and Right? Then separate signals on each?
Can someone please help me understand how to hear myself when I have guest on my live stream without feedback?

Hey guys, what is the reason you can not hear audio from bus when it's sent to the Master, through a vmix call?

Hi Master, vmix can i output difference audio from GPU or not? thank you.
