Please make more happy videos like this!! One could almost feel trough the display how much fun you had. Maybe you could put all your art supplies in one box and blind pick a few of them for another sketchbook drawing session?
It’s really important every once in a while to do personal drawings and sketches where you don’t have to make them finished, they just be as messy as you want 💖
Oh, I can really relate to what you said: The thought that one bad side ruins the sketch-book. And I know it’s stupid, and I try to get over it, but… So this was a very refreshing video. Happy, vibrant, beautiful pictures! Very inspiring!

I have the same issue..if one drawing on one side of my sketchbook doesn't turn out right,I feel like I've ruined the whole sketchbook..I'm trying to work through that,so now when I feel like I've "messed up" I stop and look at it and think "how can I fix that?"..or I just let it go and move on..I'm trying to reaffirm to myself that's what sketchbooks are for,to "mess up" sometimes..another thing I did was get a bigger sketchbook to put the more polished pieces in,and a smaller one for ideas and that seems to help me..but yeah,I think all artists have that issue IMO 😊

These spreads were so great! I was sketching along while watching this, but actually trying to do the opposite, finish off some “finished” pieces that I’ve been too intimidated to touch up for fear of messing them up. I won’t lie, I was SLIGHTLY jealous of your free multi-media sketching, they looked so wonderfully colourful and fun!!!!! ❤️

I finally started a sketchbook after years of doing only finished pieces...its sooooo rewarding. I have learned more in the past 5 months than in the past 3 years. I just try to freely draw (which doesnt work every time tbh) whatever comes to mind. Honestly if you truly want to do a subject it will show in the result.
I love the pumpkin one! It's clearly a Fall theme, but it feels so tropical at the same time. Like, I want to sip iced pumpkin coffee underneath a palm tree at the beach or something. 😆

As always, amazing illustrations! Got me inspired to draw in my own sketchbook! I have like 10 sketchbooks where I didnt draw at all, because I'm also afraid to "ruin" it plus I usually don't really know what to draw. But I think it's finally time to fight with my fears x)

I'm so glad you found a way to love sketching! I've just found my way back to it too after looking through some old high school sketches for a video 😆 i realized I hadn't drawn in a pressure-free way in years 😳 so I'm working on that now and it's been wonderful!

I don't know which piece is my favourite, I loved them all, you can tell how freeing they all made you feel.
i literally have the same feeling about sketchbooks. often times ill go back over pages i don’t like and cover them with stickers or random papers or loose drawings i did like so i don’t feel embarrassed going back through the book later.
and same about sketching also. i only seem to be able to sketch when im making a finished piece and never just to sketch on its own

I love this video. I'm the kind of artist who prefers working in sketchbooks. I like sketchbooks because it's easier to organize my drawings in one place, and I can look back and flip through it like a timeline. I kept one sketchbook from around June 2019 - January 2021! After that, I bought 3 new ones 😅😁😆

Aaaah this video was exactly what I needed, in am the same, a perfectionist and am often scared to start something I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing in my sketchbooks so will use scrap paper or something if I want to do more rough sketch or doodle, which is silly really. Part way through your video I paused and got a sketchbook and started doing some random sketches just with a black pen inspired be your art. I think I will keep this sketchbook for doing rough doodle type sketches and ideas. Love the 3 pages you did, great video. Also the subscription box looked good, I’ve never got any subscription boxes as I worry I may just end up with things I won’t use, but I might give it a go.

Personally had to get myself back into a sketchbook in 2016 and I've been keeping one ever since! I have found the approach of treating it as a art journal has really helped. Art journals are like sketchbook meets scrapbook lol. It has been freeing and I fill it up with all kinds of things now. My last sketchbook got really fat from it all.
I also learned I prefer smaller sketchbooks! Sometimes size matters. But I recommend for anyone to check out art journaling or other ways to enjoy it. I've seen some people keep 2 sketchbooks, one for nice drawings and other for junk which might work for some of you too!

Great video..I got alot of inspiration from watching this..I was wanting to do some fall themed drawings but didn't know where to start..the one with the pumpkins gave me a few ideas,I'm going to go over those ideas in my "casual" sketchbook..I have the same issue,I think that one bad side ruins the whole sketchbook..so something that helped me deal with that is I have a smaller "casual" sketchbook and then a bigger one I use for my more polished pieces 😊

I finally just found what works for me in sketchbooks, and art supply subscriptions really help motivate and inspire me. The limited art supplies, swatching, and trying new things really makes me feel like I can do more experimenting so I don't feel as perfectionist as before. Also, cats and foxes are the best (plus birds, for me haha).

Nice illustrations! I don’t think there’s any right or wrong way to fill a sketchbook. I sometimes have perfectionist tendencies and it can help me learn to be okay with mistakes and pages that aren’t perfect. Sketchbooks can be good for trying out different types of media. They can be eclectic and can be something you share or keep to yourself, or share some pages but not all.
I love your kitty drawings. Some of my cat sketches don’t come out so well.

I used to struggle with this also in my sketchbooks thinking it needed to be a perfect piece of art. The I realized what if I made my best piece but it was stuck in a sketchbook and I couldn't frame it or sell it. That changed my perspective and made it easier to be looser.

i always use the first side in my sketchbook for complete ruin it :D Just testing pencils or colors, make a mess, dont worry at all. And after this, you dont worry about anything in it because it will only get better :D

I'm also scared of ruining a sketchbook, mostly because I'm a real beginner and still in that fase that nothing turns out anywhere close to what I had imagined, purely because I still lack the skills... A tip that may sound a little bit silly but worked wonders for me is to "ruin" some random pages in the sketchbook on purpose right before really starting with it, it takes so much pressure off, it's liberating!
Bruynzeel is from the Netherlands, and you pronounce it 'brauinzeel', with the braun part pronounced in the a similar way to the German word for brown. Don't worry if you're not perfect at it: you'll instantly endear yourself to a Dutch person if you even try.
Also, Bruynzeel has amazing coloured pencils: literally their specialty, and the quality of their medium price range is sort of on par with Prismacolor. Their Colour Design series of pencils is also pretty good, but has a bit of a limited colour range. I would highly recommend Bruynzeel to fans of coloured pencils, though. My Colour Design pencils are STILL lasting me at age 28, and I bought them back in high school or so. They can also be bought individually if you run out of one.
I wish upcrate did like scrawlrbox and sold some boxes after the month too, I really love these supplies but getting them all on their own would be so expensive

You won’t ruin your sketchbooks. There’s no such thing as perfection. Sketches and drawings/ experimentations in art are just a valid as big piece that took hours, days or months. The only thing that matters is to lose yourself in the creative experience and have fun.
I loved this video, and the spreads you made. But what is the super efficient way to fill sketchbook spreads? Maybe I missed it, but I'd love to learn that lesson.

I feel like this, I have some nicer sketchbooks and paper (I am paper hoarder) but I solved it getting a cheaper sketchbook, It felt left precious and I wasn't as intimidated by using a fancy sketchbook,

I don't understan why the hurry to fill a sketchbook... Others youtubers gives you idean on how to fill pages... But... For me a sketchbook is to practice or do your art, not a competition to see how long does it takes you to complete all the pages....
