      Improved Aiming is usually better than IRM when combined with Vert Stabs because VS and IRM make eachother weaker

    Definitely a great video for all playing a frustrating game. There’s so much going on “mechanically” it’s like opening an umbrella while eating a bowl of spaghetti while someone is “Begging your pardon” for directions during tying your shoes to run a race while people are throwing rocks at you and others are yelling “UNINSTALL NOOB”! This is the kind of info I find useful. It’s a big piece of the puzzle that helps a struggling tanker move forward (I advance like a tortoise). Looking forward to more. I just don’t understand why near useless equipment is offered? Thanks.

    For the GLD It *is* "Plus" 10% to the speed. More meaning the rate at which the circle decreases, increases 10%.
    Now, coincidentally, that's pretty much the same as 110-10=100

    4:36 The tooltip isn't misleading. It never said reduce aim time by 10%, it says improve aim speed by 10%. And that is accurate. If you increase the speed you go to work by 10%, you won't get to the office in 90% of the previous time.

      It gets pretty obvious if you get higher values. If you improve your speed by 100% (double the speed), you won't reduce the time by 100%. You will reduce it by 50% instead (half the time).

    Gld description is correct in the game. It says +10 percent to the speed not -10 percent to the time. Not the same. Let N be normal despersion decrease by 1/e over one aim time period, v1 original aiming speed, T1 original aim time, v2 aiming speed with the equipment and T2 aim time with the equipment. We have v1=N/T1, v2=N/T2. Since v2=1.1v1 after substituting and canceling N we are left with T2=T1/1.1 or in other words T1=1.1T2 as you have observed in game. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.

    This video was very nice to see. I confirmed a lot of stuff I suspected and some others I didn't expect. Now with experimental equipment I'd love to see the numbers, because now that opened new paths of combinations.

    I have been choosing equipment right but it's good to know the math behind it. Good info on food, debating on using it. I learned to hit moving shots by preaiming gun and drive in a strait line until the reticule is before the target, now I know this reduces bloom to 1 variable.

      he completely forgot about dispersion after firing. gld can be best for autoloaders unless you're clipping at long distances while moving and rotating

    One of the best and most informative video I've seen in a long time. Imagine if most CC for this game had put a little more quality into their uploads. Also if WG had reallocated some resources on updating and implementing a better ingame tool that includes all the hidden stats when comparing vehicles in our garages, this video wouldn't have been needed. All the incorrect information found in the game regarding improvements AND what effect they give today is barely noticeable after you mount them on a tank and go and test them live. Do I want to sit down and formulate calculations in Excel for 600 tanks or should I ask myself WHY I play the game and why almost no CC or user touches on the topic more regarding introducing improvements in order to be able to compare the actual values found in the game. WHY do I need to use 3-part website wargaming to get my hands or some of those values when all its in the game... WAAAY WG?

      That's what I would like also. I love FV4005 and so much combinations. I use rammer, glr and rotation. Maybe I am wrong 🤔

      In it's current state it may be hard for people to come in and understand how to manipulate it. If more people want access to play with it, I'll consider cleaning it up and maybe posting a video on how to work it.
      Unless there is a Google sheets master that wants to lend their expertise out there.

    great video. However i must point out smth that nobody mentions.
    There are different profiles for gun aiming/handling to each tank, this is a different attribute than Aim time/dispertion/dispertion while moving etc.
    Some tanks, you stop to aim, 1-2 seconds pass, and only AFTER that, aim circle starts to shrink. (for example WZ-120-ft).
    Some other tanks (HTs), aim circle starts to shrink immediatly after stopping.
    Im not talking about aim time/speed.

      This is not due to different "different gun profiles." On screen there is a maximum size that the dispersion circle can be rendered. The circle can become larger than this maximum size, but the rendered circle will not go larger. When this happens it appears like the circle takes extra time before it starts shrinking but really the game is waiting for the actual dispersion circle to shrink smaller than the maximum rendered circle. If you notice your circle not shrinking right away, I suggest you zoon out.

      Ok, then another question. how does "dispertion" breaks? I mean if you turn very slowly it doesnt, somewhat faster it does break? Does it have a "breaking-time" as well?
      Maybe 0,1 turret dispertion is not the same in a very slowly moving turret and in a very fast turning turret.
      Does it goes hand in hand with the angle that is covered in turning? (maybe this is the topic of another video !)

    - When you increase your speed by 100% you decrease the time by 50%, so
    Aiming Speed depends by the distance from the maximum bloom to the smallest 'closed' reticle.
    So with a wider distance, with the Same Aiming Speed, the Aiming Time will be higher. (Same speed, more travel = more time)
    - Aiming Tuning then must increase the Aiming Speed (not only decreasing the dispersion) because it makes more distance from full bloom to closed reticle, while maintaining the same Aiming Time. ( Same time, more travel = more speed)
    - GLD since it icreases the speed, is good for tanks that have low speed, which is not necessarly one with a big bloom.
    Because guns with a big bloom (worse handling) may have great Aiming Speed.
    - GLD vs V.Stab depends on the players' style and tank's characteristics and situation.
    VStab is good in brawling and sneak-peek because it can keep the reticle in a sufficient dimension to hit , BEFORE the complete reticle shrinking
    In long or medium distances instead, when you need maximum precision you may prefer GLD (in the tanks with bad Aiming Time and Speed). Because you dont stop and fire before the reticle is closed, but have to wait till the end; that ALSO in this situation the VStab can be better (depending by the gun) than GLD is what should be changed
    You had to consider tanks with bad Aiming Time (and bad Aiming Speed, which is different as stated above),
    not tanks with bad handling.
    Of course tanks with bad handling will need VStab, since it's made for that.
    GLD is not meant for guns with bad handling, but for tanks with bad Aiming Time/Speed

    I really hope we can see a new video about equipment 2.0, since we got IRM and Improved Aiming. It’s time to see which combination of aiming equipment is the real king. Would it be VS+IRM, VS+Improved Aiming, or VS+GLD? Could it be VS+Vents?

    Great info sir. I have a good question. If I have a longer reload time than it will take for the bloom to close. (fully aimed), should I use a piece of equip that applies to another mechanic of the tank in place of V Stabs? (asuuming the V Stabs won't affect the reload at all.

    Is there any chance you could add on to the series by analyzing the rotation mechanism and aiming device?
    It is not exactly clear in the client descriptions whether or not IRM would be a better choice over vert. stabs when it also increases the rotation/turret traverse speeds (increasing bloom penalties).

    I play on the ANZ server. The land down under WOT :) I am learning to play the kv1 things like better use of armor and checking the map more than once I match :) Also blinding shooting for people hiding in the bushes. I play the kv1 so I have NO vision. I am having fun and really starting to see some improvement in my game play. I really liked your is7 video where you held up against many tanks. I did something like that. my team of 15 had died really really quickly, so I had to hold the red tanks up. I knew I can't win it but I can practice my skills. Its just a big pity once I have learnt how to use the kv1 the kv-1s is nothing like it. or the IS, and of course the is3 *my dream tank* I do have it unlocked, as I use to play along time ago, but I was terrible, zero damage games was my thing. I am using the Kv1 to learn the basics, and so far I am getting better all the time. I once got 1500 damage for me that is way better than zero :) I really like your guides.

    On the issue of aim TIME not being reduced by 10 percent, because they increase the SPEED by 10 percent, its just like actual speed in real life. You travel 1 mile at 1mph, it takes you 1h. You travel 1 mile at 1,1mph (increase speed by 10%) it takes you 1mile/1,1mph = 0,90909h. So the change to 9,1 % percent makes sense but the mechanic is still weird. Must be the way they code it or sth.

    Woppa's Wopper + Cheeze: TD + HEAT to start : Allows for patient play.
    Relaying/Call For Vengeance to help defend your friends and your Artillery, and increases your Situational Awareness.
    Eagle Eye/Deadeye to increase odds of HEAT penning and damaging an enemy tank.
    The tank itself Equipment will have a Spall Liner + Large Health Kit to increase survivability of crew if tank is destroyed.
    And then I will need the information from videos like these for some help!

    12:06 what's missing is dispersion after shooting. for example while clipping stationary with an autoloader, your only source of dispersion is firing bloom, which is not affected by vstab. you should NOT replace your gld in these cases.

    13 Disciple I need your help about one of my tanks since you seem to have a lot of knowledge in this field. I'm debating whether or not to drop the GLD oh my kv2 for coated Optics. My loadout is Brothers in Arms and everything good on the crew, food, Bond gun rammer, Bond vents, and bond GLD. I'm currently going for my third Mark of Excellence and I'll need all the help I can get.

      I'd suggest keeping the GLD on this one. The best secondary option is probably binocs, but I think you might find more value in GLD. If you aren't sure you can always try switching them out!

      @@13Disciple thanks what I thought but I wanted a second opinion. I've been trying to three mark my kv2 for a while now and every time I get to 93% RNG screws me over and I have to start again from about 80%. It's a little stressful but you probably know how that feels seeing as you try to three mark more things then I. As the only tank I'm interested in getting 3 MOE is my kv2 as it is my favorite tank.

      Most TDs can't use V Stab, but I would recommend it.

    I can't make up my mind. Which would you prefer for the T34-85M? Vents or GLD? Just curious which one you would recommend.

      I marked my T-34-85 using Rammer/Optics/GLD. I'm in the process of marking the Rudy with Rammer/Optics/Vents. I think either load out is a solid choice. For the T-34-85M I'd likely go Rammer/Optics/Vents.

    Great video..had to really focus to understand most of everything but it was invaluable....which I would have watched this when I first started...my equiptment decisions have been mainly based on WoT wiki recommendations and the GLD is pushed a lot and the reviewer seems to insinuate that certain guns will perform better and fire more /more accurately with GLD and optics...after the changes they now come in 3 classes and since all my vehicles were lower tier I have like 8 GLDs in depot awaiting class3 tanks but after watching this and also doing some crunching on my a own I think I will go to vents and try Vstabs for 1st time.....are you planning to do a video on load out recommendations/reviews of the new/upgraded stuff? I'm curious what the real effects of new muffler system I put on my Luchs and also what tanks would be good to use the Hardening option or the full Maintanence system on ?       @@13Disciple kool i been selling back all my GLDs earlier today..hey do i make more credits playing Steel Hunter than random battles ? also in random battles should i always be asking people to platoon when im waiting for battle to start since it pays out a little more ? ( 10% more right ?) is there ever a situation in random battles when i shouldnt be trying to platoon ?

      (1) Snap Shot, and how it's calculated when combined with and without vstabs, rotational mechanism, food.
      (2) Smooth Ride, what's the impact of this perk at 0%-100%? How does it relate when used with vstabs, rotational mechanism, food.
      (3) Off Road Driving. What is the relation of engine power, h.p/t to terrain resistances and if there is any math that can help determin when this perk is most valuable.
      (4) Clutch Braking. Can you confirm or mythbust the claim that clutch braking affects turning while moving? Any effects on wheeled tanks?
      (5) Are there any good reasons to extend/relay your radio coverage?
      (6) How much view range is enough view range? Is there a sweet spot? Some commanders are burdened with Situational Awareness and Recon.
      (7) What order would you choose your skills/perks? Thoughts on leveling up a perk that requires 100% to activate vs choosing a perk that activates immedately and retrain later?

    How about a Video Update with Equipment 2.0? I am testing autoloader with vstab + IRM. In the past i used vstab+GLD, but now i am not really sure whats better.

    GLD states speed not time. If you drive 100miles at 10mph, it takes 10h. Increase drive speed by 10%, you drive at 11mph, and it takes 9-1/11h.

    You mentioned tanks.gg using rounded numbers. As your example showed, if you try different combinations of skills and equipment on tanks.gg it some choices may seem to have no effect at all. For example, ventilation and improved ventilation both resulting in say 0.34 dispersion. Could you confirm whether using improved ventilation will always improve the dispersion value used in the game? That is the game does not use numbers as crudely rounded as tanks.gg, rather a greater number of decimals which offers higher fidelity. Meaning the actual in game improvement may not show up on tanks.gg due to this site displaying rounded numbers?

      Yes, the actual game used more significant digits and does not round up. There will be a discrete change in your full aim dispersion between vents, and improved vents.

      @@13Disciple Thanks! That's really helpful. Knowing that there is no point to go bargain hunting on tanks.gg. Since those "bargains" are not real but a result of the rounded numbers. Also one could expect snap shot and smooth ride to be effective even at a skill level below 100%. Which makes sense since they are skills, but from the numbers displayed at tanks.gg not entirely obvious.

    Very useful video. But as an engineer and a little smartass who is doing a lot of math I have to say, that your formula for the aim time is correct, but your explanation is wrong. The GDL doesn't reduce the time by 10%. It increses the speed by 10%.
    If you double the speed of your car, the speed increases by 100% but the time you need for the same distance only decreases by 50%.

    It's all about the hidden stats they don't tell you about. This equipment is just to try get poor stats near being usable.

    I wondered why the math did not add up on the 10% GLD.. As WG math started at 110%.. Which should have been 1.0.. As you can not get more then 1.0%....I tried using -10% from 1.0 which should be .90% and it never added up....

    What about IRM? I think the "Improved Rotation mechanism" is just about the best possible single peice of equipment for snap shotting. IRM, V-stabs, and vents are the best combo for most tanks. Change my mind :P

    in my opinion it doesnt matter if GLD is better in any situation, because it only helps one thing, and i still think having better performance in every point on the tank is better then good performance from one single thing, especially since, were talking tiny improvements that almost no one will or can even notice in a battle without being highly skilled. for example, i do not use food, because i have 5200 PR, 1100 avg wn8, 920 avg dmg 600 avg exp per battle and 48.90% win ratio, using food makes zero difference for my skill level, in a thousand battles i would see no change in my stats, if i used food on every single tank. to put it bluntly, i am not good enough to capitalize that miniscule improvement.
    Also, why are people not upset that WG lies about literally every single stat on every tank in the game? like in what reality do these people operate? i dont think they have any concept of honesty or fairness, like it's a cultural thing with them or something, deceive, manipulate, exploit everyone in every part of life in their whole country, it's surreal. why do we allow them to not give us the proper info? isnt it super disgusting when someone lies to you to manipulate you financially? in my country it's not even legal

      Nothing has really changed, tho with bounty equipment and bonus slots, there's a good argument that improved aiming could be better on vehicles with poor accuracy, but excellent fun handling such as the bourrasque or the obj 703 2. The math still holds true.

    Can't say I've ever heard anyone say that Vstabs doesn't work when sitting still. Otherwise excellent video although It pretty much just confirms what I already do just through experience although I find it surprising that GLD works even when moving.

    The trouble here is that aim time and aim speed are not the same thing.
    Aim time = the time it takes to get from maximum reticle to minimum reticle
    Aim speed = the rate at which the reticle decreases my a measure of time.
