Tip: if you get caught by the web, SPAM THE JUMP BUTTON. Not only will you be able to evade getting one-shot, but it'll stop shooting webs and will skip to the part where it spawns enemies and barrel thingies so you can damage it.
Use the multi character emerald power during the bosses final phase, you can land the final two hits on him before he starts swinging his fists, that way you cut out the bullsh#t before it even has a chance to start to it.
Tip: Use Tails for the main story final boss, and when Eggman throws his arm or arms down (depending on how many time you hit him) fly up and just tap the fly button and dodge the sparks. Hope this helps! (Found this out myself by the way)
About Trip final boss you can use white yellow and blue emeralds to skip hard stuff in first phase, they will refresh in second phase. And then he shoot webs its better to always try to wait first shoot inside, he always start to shoot you with cannons if he see you trapped between them (very helpful in last hits then he use double cannon)
Instant Kills and no checkpoint in between both bosses is hands down one of the worst, if not the worst boss designs I’ve ever seen in my 23 years of gaming. I also majored in Game Design in college, and can definitely say that my former instructors would be absolutely appalled by Trip’s final boss.
Fang's first phase would be good enough for a final boss, and the second phase would be tolerable if it was just a separate act entirely. But having to replay the first round (which gets easier with repetition but barely any faster) every time you get hit with one shot garbage is just horrible.
@@ZmanandTails You haven`t played Sonic 2. Death Egg zone. Rings are banned. 2 very hard bosses and no check points. S3K final boss also the same thing. 3 long phases, no rings.
Neither of those fights forces 20 seconds of dead time between each opportunity for an attack. And in both you die when hit because you have no rings, not because some attack breaks the rules and arbitrarily kills you.
The Egg Fortress boss broke me... After *TEN* tries, I finally make it to the last hit... and I choked. All that hard work... squandered because I screwed up a button press. For about a minute all I could feel was anguish.
Took me at least 90 minutes on stream to beat this boss. As I said to my cousin who tuned in at one point “I’ve had more fun stubbing my toe.” I never really rage at games, but this boss was testing my patience. Testing it now as well as I also have the game on PC.
I had a strong feeling that was possible, but the section is too easy to just dodge so it might not be worth risking it on a part with guaranteed survivability
this game has some of the worst boss fights in the sonic series. the fact there's insta kill attacks in 30 min boss fights that never end is shit design. brings a fun game down so damn much
Super quick tip: in act 2 as Trip, if you get the ring monitors at the beginning of the level, you can turn Super without spending rings by cancelling it with L1 and R1 at the right time, even in the boss
Yea, this work but keep in mind you can still get caught by the webs and die one shot. Thus loosing all your rings. You would have to restart the level in order to try this glitch and super again
Also, the pink lasers can one shot you too. You have to fly above him when the diamonds are out in order to get behind him. Do not try and fly around the diamonds with pink laser
For trips final boss when fang tries to headbutt the ground use either the red (bullet) or yellow (slow) emerald powers to either reach the top of the screen and tackle him or slow down time to avoid the attack
Oh. I thought I was restricted by the timer. That damn thing counting down scared the hell outa me and I was loosing my bloody mind cause of it. But seems I was panicking for no reason. I hate how long these damn stages and boss fights are x,x
Ya'll kept asking for Fang after Mania...well, here he is. Can't wait for the upcoming Bean final boss where he insta kills you with a nuke if you don't flawlessly master his pattern.
I remember this being similar to Sonic 1 and Sonic 2's bosess from this. No rings means you couldn't afford another mistake at any point of the battle.
During phase 2 for sonic's final boss (the part where he starts swinging his arms across the map), use the avatar power if you have it, and you can end the fight much earlier
I quit the game during Trip’s final boss. I already wasn’t having fun with her story, especially with locking the true final boss behind it, and I’d already wasted three hours on this fight alone. But to finally get to the end of the fight only to be killed by some Sonic 4 Episode 1 BS and have seven more minutes of my life go to waste immediately killed any interest I had in ever fully finishing this game. One of the worst bosses I’ve ever fought in a video game, and in a game that already has pretty terrible bosses. Can’t wait to see all the “skill issue” comment again from fanboys who have no idea what *fair* challenging game design looks, just like with Frontiers Update 3…
@@SonicHubYTAgreed. I didn’t struggle with the platforming like a lot of others did. I actually enjoyed it (no checkpoints aside). It was more the second and especially fifth trials that were the problem in that case.
I had a good time with the main story, but Trip's story is unapologetically terrible. 99% of it isn't even hard thanks to her spike wisp ability and having all of the emeralds by that point, it's just poorly designed.
I agree. Trips story kinda sucks and soured my opinion on the game. They should’ve just let you get to the final boss with the chaos emeralds like the other games.
All i'm gonna say to you mate is thanks so much for your help I've been trying to defeat that boss with Sonic for a very long time and your guide really helped so thank you very much 😃
So he must do the headbutt attack at least once before you're able to kill him? I hit him 7 times, then hit him in the headbutt attack and got hurt by his wrist spikes causing me to fall into the lava. 😔
Thank you so much dude. Trip's final boss was giving me a really hard time. I probably spent over 2 hours fighting him. Your guide really helped. Like you said, once you understand the patterns, he's not THAT bad. Still, it's still really annoying with the insta-kill attacks and no checkpoint after phase 1.
Christ, I haven't even got to Trip's boss yet. Final Eggman was one of the most infuriating bosses I've ever played and I like to think I'm a seasoned Sonic player! Failing last minute due to a random last minute raised platform then having to start all over again! Not a fun challenge.
Something I learned in the Eggman fight is that you CAN actually land an extra hit in phase two when he does the electric attack. It's VERY risky though and you will often get hit on it, but it's worth it to skip through the fight faster because waiting for 8-10 minutes just to die to the arm spin (the VERY LAST HIT, which is so evil) is so unbelievably stupid
In Act 1 the game hints us several times that we can use spin attack during the anti gravity section. I feel like it is the developers’ way of trick us into thinking using spin attack on this pattern is a smart idea. It probably at best save less than 20 seconds so big no for most players.
@@abc2390986 I don't have the patience for another 30 seconds of “dodge lasers, dodge hand slams, get one hit, back to electric attack to repeat”, especially if I’ve been fighting the boss for an hour and died to the last attack 3 times. If I have rings to spare, I'm going for it (especially because I can use the Avatar thing to skip that last hit).
@12:32-.+With the variant with a red cursor on you, If you keep doing moving forward, it is possible for the red cursors to a line in such a way that it's physically impossible to not get caught in a web. It happens on inclines. Shut your trap.
The best way to get under Fang in the first phase is to stand on the 'crack' at the top of the large hump that's on the 'right' side of it. Stand there, rev up a spin dash, and when he comes in on the one side he'll pause for the brief moment. That's when you release the spin dash. (Could be after he starts going again) but time that well and you'll get under him no problem every time.
In the first phase, when he does the attack with his ship crashing down. The best spot is to stop at the tallest slope, this will give you more flexibility to attack him.
On Knack, I found it just easier to ignore trying to hit him on his headbutt. Cause unlike with Robotnik's headbutt, you don't automatically bounce back to the platform, so it's easy to die and have to go through another 10 minutes, infact you may even just jump through him sometimes somehow. Just ignore it, let him do the bouncing bomb drops again, just survive that attack, don't get greedy, cause the price of greed is way too much time.
I actually really enjoyed the Fang boss fight. It's hard, but nothing about it is unfair. You CAN learn how to consistently deal with everything he throws at you. The 1-hit KO moves can be undoubtedly frustrating. I don't think players play a Sonic game to fight a KH superbosses on Critical mode. But if you already know how to dodge everything, these 1-hit KO moves aren't much different than any other attack. I died plenty of times when fighting him. But when I won for the first time, it felt genuinely good. That's how I know it was a good boss. The true final boss though (the purple dragon)? That one's actually bad! It's too luck based. You just hope rings will appear frequently enough close to you so you can survive. His attack patterns are mostly fair, but non of them hurt you (except for the insta-kill black holes, which you have to sacrifice rings to escape from). It happens that, at times, it's preferable to get hit by a move so you can get rings nearby. IN WHAT BOSS WOULD YOU WANT TO PURPOSELY GET HIT??????? Also it takes about 7 minutes to defeat, which is dumb. There are other not-so-great bosses in the game because you wait too much for openings, but non of them are unfair. I'll genuinely take the Silver boss fight from 06 over the dragon because A. It's relatively short, and B. You can manipulate him to grab stuff so you won't get grabbed yourself. Silver isn't too RNG. This dragon IS unfair.
Imagine if all dragon`s normal attacks (fireballs, lasers, meteors, holey walls etc. )can knock massive amout of rings from Super Sonic (up to 50 rings).
Thanks for posting another video on this W Classic Sonic game, dude! I won't mind if you made a full guide video on every boss in the game since most of them are just frustrating to get past. But then again, it's YOUR Channel so it's up to you. Either way, very helpful and great video! I'm hyped for more videos on tbis epic game!
Honestly the hardest boss for Trip, at least for me, was the bird boss in Frozen Base Act 1. It took me literally days of trying and failing, and I only managed to beat it by carefully getting to it with enough rings to barely last the battle as Super Dragon Trip. I nearly gave up on the game because of it. Her final boss was nothing compared to that boss.
I’ve hit Eggman three times, but whenever I get behind him I can’t find any blue missiles. I think I just need one more to get to the last phase, I don’t know what to do
Super ta vidéo un abonné en plus c'était drôle quand tu as lâché ta manette et que tu t'es fait toucher mais ça arrive lol enfin bref continue comme ça et reste passionné dans ce que tu fais.
Yeah-NO. This still wasn't doing it for me. I was at Fang for about 3 hours straight and that damn web is the cause. Here's what I recommend: PHASE 1: -Missiles- Just jump a second before they hit you. Double jump if you get antsy. Another method that works 99% of the time? Get on a higher hill, rev up a spin dash and just coast. You'll dodge the shots nearly every time, but be ready to jump just in case an upward slope leaves you vulnerable. -He always goes into the spinning bits first- If you're still rolling on auto pilot, there's a chance you could possibly get under him. There are other options though. USE YOUR POWERS. Fire can launch you right over him. Avatar can hit him pretty reliably. Activate it and then turn around so that they come from the opposite side of the screen. You can use Ivy if you've already burned through the other two, but I stopped needing that one pretty early on. Here's the thing. I'd recommend using these powers after he starts using a full circle of bits. Prior to that, just try to get under him or time the lasers. -The dive bomb attack- This actually got me a lot more than I expected it to. The hole he creates can become unavoidable depending on the angle of your jump. The answer? More powers. Specifically Extra and Slow. Also, try to bait him into activating this in the lowest valley areas. For Extra, get far back from where he'll attack and just spam fireballs. He'll dive into them. For Slow, you should still be mindful of the angle of your jumps. If attacking feels risky, don't do it. ALL POWERS WILL RESET ON PHASE TWO PHASE TWO: -The wheelie bugs- Believe it or not, I actually found myself missing my targets by just holding a direction. Trip would often not connect. So instead, pace yourself and try to get the timing right. It feels like stalling your run a bit help even it out. -THE GOD DAMN WEB- Get to the highest slope parts, stand still and wait for the reticle...then pause the game. Yep. Just pause the game and take a moment to study the reticle formation. Unpause and repause as needed to get it just right, where you can see if he's aiming at you or around you. Once they turn red, the attack is locked in, but prior to that, you can mess with its spacing by jumping. This works best when he aims around you, as the spacing will spread out, giving you room to properly escape. Once you know what is coming, move.I find in both cases, jumping is the best solution, since, whenever I tried to just move forward, it would be too late and I'd get caught. Try no to jump too far from where he aims, so that the webs can cluster together, but far enough that you won't get stuck. I think they can be encountered on the opposite end if you circle around, so avoid going too fast. For double assurance, ready the Slow power. If you pause and still feel like you're gonna get caught, hit it before the web gets you. You'll have enough time to mash your way out. As soon as I started pausing to get my bearings and observe my escape vectors, the web became a joke. I think the most dangerous thing about it is the panic it causes, leading to mistakes, which leads to losses and frustration. -The bouncy bombs- Don't just blindly charge in. They can get annoying when they're all flying about and you may miss your chance to hit a green one. -The headbutt- Honestly, he only ever did this once, and that was the run I beat him on. I knew it was coming, but it flew out way faster than I was expecting. I stood by where his fist was going to land and I think I jumped. Whatever happened, I almost immediately bashed his head as it came down, did damage and then was able to land right back next to his arm. I didn't get any practice with this move at all, but I do recall being alarmed with the speed at which it came out, even though I knew to be ready for it. Soooo, yeah. Once I did the pausing thing, I beat him instantly. Hope this helps.
When I was doing Trip’s Final Boss and I was going so fast that I think Fang was under the ground and I couldn’t hit him. This so heartbreaking for me because I was just going to be on the second phase and now I had to go through the entire zone again just to get back there

And then he shoot webs its better to always try to wait first shoot inside, he always start to shoot you with cannons if he see you trapped between them (very helpful in last hits then he use double cannon)
Thanks for this. I hated Fang’s instant kill attacks. Bad boss design.
They just wanted to pad out the ending lmaooo
Fang would be good if there was a checkpoint after phase 1
Thank you so much bro
Trip boss is the hardest boss of all video games!!
W
trip's boss wouldn't be so bad if there was a checkpoint between phase 1 and 2
phase 1 is so long and boring
Fang boss phase 2 made me question my sanity and wonder if I should seek a therapist for the amount of anger I felt
The Egg Fortress boss broke me...
After *TEN* tries, I finally make it to the last hit... and I choked. All that hard work... squandered because I screwed up a button press.
For about a minute all I could feel was anguish.
Happened to me too lol
i’m probably on my 50th try 🥲
Took me at least 90 minutes on stream to beat this boss. As I said to my cousin who tuned in at one point “I’ve had more fun stubbing my toe.” I never really rage at games, but this boss was testing my patience. Testing it now as well as I also have the game on PC.
I’m not beating this game
What is the boss this is probably my what the 90th
Oh my god the Eggman final fight for me was so annoying thank you sonichub
I think it's simple to beat Trip's final boss, I think it's *NOT* simple to beat Dr. Robotnic.
Also on the final boss when your flying around with the lightning bolts you can get to the top of his head
You know, during that part when you floating in the air with sonic dodging those balls, you can hit him by floating to his head.
That would’ve been nice to know…if there was like…a better indicator for that or something
I had a strong feeling that was possible, but the section is too easy to just dodge so it might not be worth risking it on a part with guaranteed survivability
The hitboxes on Trip's boss just don't exist sometimes and it's so infuriating to go straight through his ship and into the insta death bars.
I really liked the Fang boss once I knew all the patterns, the only annoying part was the waiting
You know that’s the thing, the forced waiting kills the replayability of the game
@@SonicHubYTwait until you play the Sonic Rush bosses
@@UltraSTHdon't you dare slander that game almost it's bosses are better than this
@@TheNoiseRator nah I LOVE the bosses in Rush, I’m just saying that SonicHub would probably hate them
Awesome guide, this was SO helpful!
Glad it helped!
This guide helped a ton on the fang fight. Once you get the pattern down its quite a bit easier.
Glad I could help 🙏🏻
@@SonicHubYT Imagine if timer can actually kill you.
omg, thank you so much sonichub, I really appreciate the boss guide, it really made me stop raging :) .
I went to the second phase, died once and thought; "Nah lemme check online real quick for once.... I'm not figuring that sh*t on my own!"
Dont blame ya hahaha
i just rage quit and deleted this game because of eggman 😭
this game has some of the worst boss fights in the sonic series. the fact there's insta kill attacks in 30 min boss fights that never end is shit design. brings a fun game down so damn much
Fr
Super quick tip: in act 2 as Trip, if you get the ring monitors at the beginning of the level, you can turn Super without spending rings by cancelling it with L1 and R1 at the right time, even in the boss
What about switch
@@TheNoiseRator yep, probably works there too
@@cyanthehedgehog777 like x since itz the emerald power active button
Yea, this work but keep in mind you can still get caught by the webs and die one shot. Thus loosing all your rings. You would have to restart the level in order to try this glitch and super again
Also, the pink lasers can one shot you too. You have to fly above him when the diamonds are out in order to get behind him. Do not try and fly around the diamonds with pink laser
These final bosses are like math problems, they are the worst thing ever and your confused, but when you how to solve it becomes fun.
Thanks for this video because I never think I could beat this boss by myself to unlock Trip without this video.
For trips final boss when fang tries to headbutt the ground use either the red (bullet) or yellow (slow) emerald powers to either reach the top of the screen and tackle him or slow down time to avoid the attack
Trip's final boss feels like something from Dark Souls. Glad I'm not the only one suffering like that.
Oh. I thought I was restricted by the timer. That damn thing counting down scared the hell outa me and I was loosing my bloody mind cause of it. But seems I was panicking for no reason. I hate how long these damn stages and boss fights are x,x
Cheers bud U got me through this!
I was thinking about not bothering with shadow cus this was giving me so much mental turmoil 👍👍👍
How did we go from the best Sonic bosses in Frontiers to THIS!?
Ya'll kept asking for Fang after Mania...well, here he is. Can't wait for the upcoming Bean final boss where he insta kills you with a nuke if you don't flawlessly master his pattern.
@@ClydeJHatbird Trust me, I did not ask for fang and I definitely won't now.
They must have taken inspiration from the garbage in Final Horizon instead
I remember this being similar to Sonic 1 and Sonic 2's bosess from this. No rings means you couldn't afford another mistake at any point of the battle.
Sonic Mania: "Finally, a final boss that's not a rehash of the Death Egg Robot!"
Sonic Superstars: "Hold my beer"
Is the timer meaningless in Superstars?
Yes
For this boss pretty much yeah
Timer is definitely meaningless. It doesn’t kill you when you hit the 10 minute mark in any stage, and it seems to have no effect.
Actually I think its ko you after 1 hr
Trip's is quite literally the worst 2D console Sonic experience is history.
you can use the Spindash to cross the Fang, and hit him from behind in the First Phase, but he has to be above you, so the Spindash doesn't hit him
Thank you so much. This guide really helped
Glad I was able to help I know I could have used it 😁
During phase 2 for sonic's final boss (the part where he starts swinging his arms across the map), use the avatar power if you have it, and you can end the fight much earlier
The eggman boss wasn't unfair, i just made some dumb mistakes, but the fang one was the point where i want to delete fang.
Frontiers Update 3 platforming wasnt bad though and ill stand by that lol. But yeah idk what they were thinking at the end of trips story
All i'm gonna say to you mate is thanks so much for your help I've been trying to defeat that boss with Sonic for a very long time and your guide really helped so thank you very much 😃
when you’re floating at phase 2, go directly to his head, you can hit him
So he must do the headbutt attack at least once before you're able to kill him? I hit him 7 times, then hit him in the headbutt attack and got hurt by his wrist spikes causing me to fall into the lava. 😔
Nvm looks like you have to hit him 7-8 times in his 2nd phase.
Finally beat him. Your strategy for cheesing the 🕸 traps was a lifesaver!
6:13
This is just perfectly out of context
Alright for the 2 phase after getting a couple of hits i recommend the blue emerald power the power where you make copies of yourself
Hey sonichub this game is literally driving me fucking insane you know but I’m happy for you that you beaten the boss
Christ, I haven't even got to Trip's boss yet. Final Eggman was one of the most infuriating bosses I've ever played and I like to think I'm a seasoned Sonic player! Failing last minute due to a random last minute raised platform then having to start all over again! Not a fun challenge.
with enough complaints i think future patch will add check points mid bosses.
5:38 i found out on a another RUclips video you can hit the egg fortress while it's using his gravity to make you hover
Kinda risky though for a segment that is easy to not take damage during so I chose to avoid it
This was me asf bro lmao 12:23 😂
Dude! I glitched through the floor and got stuck in an endless unplayable loop!
Ngl, i gave up on the fang boss, i have tried for like 2 weeks, and almost no progress, not even with tips and such
@12:32-.+With the variant with a red cursor on you, If you keep doing moving forward, it is possible for the red cursors to a line in such a way that it's physically impossible to not get caught in a web. It happens on inclines. Shut your trap.
“Fang The Hunter isn’t real, he can’t hurt you.”
Fang The Hunter:
The best way to get under Fang in the first phase is to stand on the 'crack' at the top of the large hump that's on the 'right' side of it. Stand there, rev up a spin dash, and when he comes in on the one side he'll pause for the brief moment. That's when you release the spin dash. (Could be after he starts going again) but time that well and you'll get under him no problem every time.
In the first phase, when he does the attack with his ship crashing down. The best spot is to stop at the tallest slope, this will give you more flexibility to attack him.
SonicHub, I got the gravity float on final hit,so I slim Jim’d myself to this head, spinned, and
GAME
SONIC WINS!
W
On Knack, I found it just easier to ignore trying to hit him on his headbutt. Cause unlike with Robotnik's headbutt, you don't automatically bounce back to the platform, so it's easy to die and have to go through another 10 minutes, infact you may even just jump through him sometimes somehow. Just ignore it, let him do the bouncing bomb drops again, just survive that attack, don't get greedy, cause the price of greed is way too much time.
Imagine if timer can actually kill you and every missed attack opportunity means death sentence.
Thank you SonicHub, this video has been helpful as I have final defeated eggmans final boss.
Thanks for the upload I beat it after watching this.
Omg thank you! Your video saved me from that nasty headbutt. Probably would have lost if it wasn’t for you!
@@5434345 You'll have to spread more rings around and have Sonic start with more than 50 rings to make up for that.
I swear the developers must’ve had enough of the Sonic fanbase and made the final boss hard as punishment.
How do you get to fight Fang? We use Trip but it doesn’t move on after defeating Egg Man.
Wow!! 13:27 Trips Tips!
Thank you bro I've been on the boss fight for 3 days
👍
I’ve hit Eggman three times, but whenever I get behind him I can’t find any blue missiles. I think I just need one more to get to the last phase, I don’t know what to do
Super ta vidéo un abonné en plus c'était drôle quand tu as lâché ta manette et que tu t'es fait toucher mais ça arrive lol enfin bref continue comme ça et reste passionné dans ce que tu fais.
Yeah-NO. This still wasn't doing it for me. I was at Fang for about 3 hours straight and that damn web is the cause. Here's what I recommend:
PHASE 1:
-Missiles-
Just jump a second before they hit you. Double jump if you get antsy. Another method that works 99% of the time? Get on a higher hill, rev up a spin dash and just coast. You'll dodge the shots nearly every time, but be ready to jump just in case an upward slope leaves you vulnerable.
-He always goes into the spinning bits first-
If you're still rolling on auto pilot, there's a chance you could possibly get under him.
-The dive bomb attack-
This actually got me a lot more than I expected it to.
ALL POWERS WILL RESET ON PHASE TWO
PHASE TWO:
-The wheelie bugs-
Believe it or not, I actually found myself missing my targets by just holding a direction. Trip would often not connect. So instead, pace yourself and try to get the timing right. It feels like stalling your run a bit help even it out.
-THE GOD DAMN WEB-
Get to the highest slope parts, stand still and wait for the reticle...then pause the game.
-The bouncy bombs-
Don't just blindly charge in. They can get annoying when they're all flying about and you may miss your chance to hit a green one.
-The headbutt-
Honestly, he only ever did this once, and that was the run I beat him on.
My voice hurts from yelling at the game in fangs fight
those instakills hurt me emotionally man
This fight made my blood boil at one point I never felt so hot lmao
I've experienced worse....
When I was doing Trip’s Final Boss and I was going so fast that I think Fang was under the ground and I couldn’t hit him. This so heartbreaking for me because I was just going to be on the second phase and now I had to go through the entire zone again just to get back there
It took me 3 hours to beat the eggman boss because I refused to use the emerald power.
6:44 I felt that rage
Awesome tip thanks
All I gotta say is just cause a game doesn't have lives doesn't mean a boss shouldn't have check points, especially when most of the attacks are instant kill, what doesn't help is that the momentum is so hard sometimes it feels like turning around is like moving in molasses
Sonic’s Final Boss makes Frontiers Update 3 look like a joke.
Spindash is your best friend on these bosses
“He’s gonna start swinging his thing” 💀💀💀
in fang phase 2, if you spam both jump buttons, you have a chance you to escape the net attack
How much hp does the boss have
Thanks man, this was frustrating
I think imma go play mania
I beat Fang finally and finished Tripps story, it took many attempts but I got it done within the day. I also agree the bosses are ridiculously too hard. Idk if they expected little kids that are fans of Sonic to actually get through this or what
