Sarah Chen, a fierce advocate for gender equality and women's rights throughout her career, was swiftly punished for her stance. Thirty years after her retirement, online posts are filled with rumors and attacks on her character, all stemming from her refusal to enter into unequal relationships and decision to stay unmarried. A 2003 documentary from her former record label, intending to draw her back, only highlighted male dominance.
Our admiration for Sarah Chen's courage and her unbending stance in the face of unrelenting societal attacks, is what drove us to all the work. The plight of independent women is clear in Sarah Chen's experience; but she is not the only one. Yet neither is Sarah ever alone in her fight for gender equality. She has our company, and the company of countless others.

@deanlin: Thanks for your kind words. Watching/listening to Sarah's interviews, I actually think she was extremely smart (both IQ and EQ). She was just in a very tough spot, dealing with tricky problems/people, trying to keep her career going without compromising her moral principles. It's a miracle that she lasted so long. Truth and righteousness do eventually prevail, and such is the case for Sarah Chen's career, no matter how misunderstood or wronged she had been.
