I have this Tow Dolly and it has been flawless! I have pulled a Dodge Dakota, with 4 Wheel Drive and now tow my Buick Encore with my Country Coach! Love it! Thanks for a great product!
I give the Acme Dolly Tow 5 stars. The wheel straps stretched on the first trip. I stopped and tightened them every 50-100 miles. After that I tightened them every fuel stop. We went up over the Grapevine in Southern Ca. the surge brake worked great. No overheating. The straps were not always perfectly in line with the center of the tires during the trip but it did not seem to make a difference as long as the straps were tight. We towed a Toyota 4 Runner with oversize tires 1200 miles with a Dodge Ram 2500. Moved along at 65-70. No problems, the dolly rolled along smoothly.
I use this dolly behind my diesel pusher pulling my 08 town and country mini van, works great. I just don't like the idea of having to crawl on the ground to hook the safety chains up, hate that part. But overall can't complain about this dolly works pretty good. Love the fact that you can put it in the garage and stow it upright so it hardly takes any room up. Also don't forget to remove the parking brake after your all hooked up, back tires leave pretty good marks on the pavement as your pulling away.
I have a EZE-Tow Tow Dolly to tow a 2018 Ford Focus Titanium and it resulted to some pretty significant damage to the front under-carrage that will require replacement of 3 cover items and a support bracket for the radiator. I noticed when viewing your video that the safety chains that connect to the under carriage then to the trailer bracket is different; meaning initially your dolly shows the dolly chain bracket welded in the vertical position (same as my dolly) but later when actually connection is made in the video the welded bracket is horizontal and low on the dolly. So I suspect I'm not the first to have this problem and that the bracket was re-positioned to avoid this in future models. I don't know if this is a "recall" item and if it were where I'd take it to have the dolly modified. The dolly is an excellent durable and well built but it damaged the hell out of my car and I don't know what the end cost will be to replace the items. Just to be clear, once the car was loaded "after removal of all the damaged items" it towed beautifully with no sway and it felt solid.
The BEST video I've seen so far. GREAT job. I do though have a pressing question. I notice that when you put the strap thru the winch, that the winch moves left & right, that it ISN'T secured by lightning the bolts. Is this the way it should be. I seen/read in other instructions to tighten the winchs in place. Can someone clarify this for me please.....Thanks
00:00:17 I didn’t know the Acme brand was a real brand lol 😂.. I thought it was only in The Bugs Bunnyb& Tweety Show. . / Looney Tunes.. / Looney Toons .. 🤣🤣🤣
Steve. On my Toyota Rav 4, I have to have the steering wheel unlocked . I put the key into the ignition and turn the car on unlocking the front wheels then simply turn the key to the off position and leave the key into the ignition your wheel will not lock until you turn the car on or lock the car. If stopping for a break remove the key and secure your car,But remember to do the above process over again. very easy.
I think what Steve wants to know is "why" the steering wheel moves, if the wheels are strapped down tight to the dolly. That would mean the straps are giving and stretching every time the steering wheel moves..
Yes the straps sometimes stretch I agree, but when you stop for gas or lunch super etc, Its time to give a quick inspection to ensure your straps are tight. Now for the steering wheel moving is a mystery to me also. I think its better to have some play than just locked straight Maybe something with the front end alignment I really don't know why.
наезды разобьют передний бампер , один минус , колеса не делают поворот второй , острые углы на крыльях поцарапают машину третий минус . Одним словом не продумано. две звезды одна за тормоза.

Did you notice any wear on the rear tires on the vehicle you were towing ?
That toyota 4 runner is manual or automatic transmission?

I am assuming you know this for experience... especially with a diesel pusher!
i own the acme tow dolly i give it 5 stars, i just towed my mini with my 37 foot motorhome over 2400 miles without one issue

Could you put a tow hitch supported bike rack on the car to be towed while it is loaded on the dolly?
It will drag on the road

Where can I get that ratchet for my tow dolly? My low clearance car doesn't leave room for the ratchet handle.
Does the break lock out key let you reverse if needed when on?
How can I get some new straps thanks Don
I tougth it was supposed to be in neutral if on park wont it mess up the transmission

What’s the psi for the tires?
Lots of tire scrub on those corners, it really needs a pivot. It's like a really really long wheelbase tandem-axle trailer
The wheels don't turn near enough and the tires drag on a turn wearing out in a short time.
I am confused The front tires of the car are strapped tightly to the tow dolly so they can't move. How is it the the steering wheel moves.

She explains at 7:28 to 7:40, but I'm still confused
все нормально , но въездные площадки под бампером плохо. на кочках сломать бампер ложно.
The 'American Way'. Bigger, Better and Under-Budget !
А где в России можно купить

The paint run at 2:28 and 3:42 is a big turn off.
FYI…They all come galvanized now, no more paint…
I think that this is too much weight for the vehicle towing the car, better off using a wrecker or rollback.
With brakes on your dolly, your rig can safely equal the weight of towing vehicle.
