    Paramagnetic type O2 analyzers are based on the paramagnetic property of the oxygen.
    Which are Paramagnetic materials or What is Paramagnetism?
    Paramagnetic materials are materials that tend to get weakly magnetized in the direction of the magnetizing field when those materials are placed in a magnetic field. However, if we remove the applied field, the materials tend to lose their magnetism. In simple word, we can say that these materials usually experience a weak attraction to magnets. This type of magnetism is known as paramagnetism.
    There are different constructions of paramagnetic type O2 analyzer
    Dumbbell type, Magnetic Pressure Type, Magnetic Wind type.
    In this tutorial i have discussed about construction and operation of Dumbbell and Magnetic Wind type O2 analyzer.

    Great explanation sir but what is that electronic system??

  • @peepdi
    @peepdi 3 года назад +1

    Sir it was really well put .. but I got confused in between when you mentioned about the coil a and coil b has a difference in heat.. so how will it affect the Wheatstone meter bridge in such a way that we get the concentration of the oxygen in the system?

    • @SilenceProgress
      @SilenceProgress  3 года назад

      Glad to receive the query. While oxygen concentration is more, due to paramagnetic property it will be attracted towards middle tube with a higher flow than while oxygen concentration is low. So heat loss at coil a is more with high concentration of oxygen than with low concentration. So degree of unbalancing of wheatstone bridge is more at high concentration.

    • @peepdi
      @peepdi 3 года назад

      @@SilenceProgress like do you mean there will be change in resistance due to the more heat absorbed by oxygen ? And it will reflect In the Wheatstone meter bridge?

    • @SilenceProgress
      @SilenceProgress  3 года назад

      Yes. Coil a will loss more heat than coil b. So there will be a difference of temperature between coil a and b. And resistance of those two coils will be changed as per their temperature change. The change of resistance is a function of oxygen concentration.

    Why the dumbbell is twisting in the presence of Sample gas with oxygen?

    • @SilenceProgress
      @SilenceProgress  2 года назад +1

      As the sample gas is having paramagnetic property, so it will try to follow a particular path inside the chamber, as chamber is having inhomogeneous magnetic field. Due that flow of sample gas, it will not create same drag force in equal magnitude and direction on both dumbbells, which will create a twisting in dumbbell arrangement. Go through the discussion again. I believe it will be clear to you. By the way, may i know you, from where you are?

    why nitrogen is used inside spherical glass???

    • @SilenceProgress
      @SilenceProgress  3 года назад

      Nitrogen or any other type of gasses which are having low magnetic susceptibility, may be used inside dumbbell. Glad to have your query. By the way, may i please know you? Are you a student? If yes from which Institute?

    • @pranabnathsahu8427

      @@SilenceProgress thanks for your reply sir. But my question is why to use nitrogen?? What will happen if nitrogen is not used. I am working in tata steel as a JE.

    • @SilenceProgress
      @SilenceProgress  3 года назад

      @@pranabnathsahu8427 I am glad to know you. i am giving my answer from my thinking. what is your confusion? 'Any other gas' instead of Nitrogen or 'No gaseous' part inside the dumbbell? If any other gas instead of Nitrogen... Yes, might be used but in that case that gas should be inert and least susceptible with magnetic field.
      If you are thinking about 'no gas' inside the dumbbell..... for that case the dumbbell must be solid, it might not be permitted with respect to operation as well as point of construction. I will think more about it.. if found any other reason i will be glad to answer you. Be well.
