    This is great for people who live within a 10 minute walk from where they work. I already own moped for summer driving but i really want this now. This would fit right in my apartment on the porch or in my living room if need be.

When we can no longer afford gas to drive our cars, and the electric ones no longer work; we can still get around a little bit with some motor power - at least for a while. Of course you still have the thief problem, which will get worse with the engineered depression and food shortages.

    I'd really like one of these, I'm kind of stuck between this and an electric scooter that goes a little faster for the same price. The only thing that concerns me about these is that all the reviews I see oh, a lot of people complain about the condition they receive them in. So finding someone who will ship it to you in good condition is a concern

    • @chessgaming9942
      @chessgaming9942 3 года назад +2

      I’ve recently gotten one and 3 of my friends have them too, they generally ship pretty well. Only issues with the bikes are either the spokes on the wheels (easy enough to replace them) or the transmission, which can take a bit of work, but a CVT works great with them.

    How loud is it? They should add a kick start, stronger chains/belt, fenders, and exhaust pipe. Comparing this with Bolton ebikes foxbat it seems good because it's cheaper, but you can also get a cheap motorcycle like the CSC SG250 for less than $3000 shipped. Italika also has some really nice cheap motorcycles, but importing/registering them might be a nightmare (eg: SPTFIRE200)
    Seems like people with credit cards and no common sense drive up the prices of these things, I would think all ebikes/gasbikes should be under $1000

    • @tomtee4442
      @tomtee4442 3 года назад +2

      True but every thing is illegal even a pedal bike going to fast is illegal and can be given a ticket. I have a Phatmoto I always keep pedals turning, courteous, I wave and move off side walks for pedestrians coming. Don't want anyone to call the law for riding a motorized bicycle. I ride on trails, side walks away from traffic as much as possible, no riding or playing in traffic for me. I got my phatmoto at the beginning of January 2019 when they first came out. Also I put 49cc stickers on it. No police except one stopped me in another state he heard the engine on and I cut engine off when I saw the law. officer said I can have a bike with a engine. but not on and engine running in that state unless I wanted to register the bicycle. I was nice to the officer acted like I didn't know the law and rode on after his advice. A few blocks later tired from pedaling cut the engine back on and cruised but riding slow is the key! Just use common sense riding you will be ok. I was thinking about buying a electric bike glad I didn't when battery needs replacing battery is pretty expensive and will only last so long. 4stroke motorized bikes for the money will last longer, over all cheaper to repair - maintance cheaper in the long run and hold more value and will resale better than electric bikes!

      Pull start is real easy on Phatmoto, when pedaling it hard from a work out on bike when I want to take a break. I pull start my phat moto bike going down the road alot. It's not like starting a old non OHV= over head valve 4 stroke engine that yanks cord pull start cord out of your hand in those old compression relief engines that are hard to start. I'd go with the 49cc due to the availability of parts. The 53cc has a bit more torque, but not enough to make much difference.

    • @tomtee4442
      @tomtee4442 3 года назад

      @@dmoore0079 I agree with with the comment above basically. I'm glad I went with the 80cc engine enough power to go up any hill on hard top and pedaling too. I've went up the steepest hill around on my phatmoto. Recently tried to go up very steep hill going to slow and couldn't. I was not use to that area or would of went faster, couldn't make it up the hill. So I went back down hill and went wide open pedaling then made it with ease up hill. I've also taken the Phatmoto up some of the steepest hills around. But disadvantage phatmoto won't off road like a ATV that has gears and just putting around.

      @@joseguzman3964 you don't need to register it in Cali as it is a motorized bicycle, same rule with ebikes, can't go over "28".
      Unfortunately no it cannot be ridden on sidewalks (unless you pedalwith the motor off), due to the fact that it goes over speed.
      Good thing is, you can ride it along bike paths on normal road.

      Same. I got the first year it came out. Paid 550.00...frame frame was good, but other parts where cheap and rusted easy. Front fork couldn't handle bumps the best. Hopefully they upgraded better to make it worth 1300.00 tho

    do you know if the clearance between the top of the cylinder to the bottom of the gas tank more than the skinny tire version, i was wanting to put a 100cc from a jumping jack compactor or a 120 cc, but i think the skinny wheeled phat moto only has half inch clearence which might not be enough for that little bit bigger of a engine.

    • @tomtee4442
      @tomtee4442 3 года назад

      I have what I call the regular tire Phatmoto less space between valve cover and bottom of frame. I want to go maybe with a 212cc or 110 - 125cc ATV engine with 4 speed would definitely do the job putting around off road for me with gears makes all the difference.
