- Space shuttle astronauts Shannon Lucid, the only American woman to serve aboard the Russian Space Station Mir, and Jerry Ross, the first human to complete seven space shuttle missions, were officially inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, May 3 during a ceremony at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Lucid and Ross join the ranks of other well-known U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame inductees, including Alan Shepard, John Glenn, John Young, Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride.
Nice to see American celebrations associated with space. The Russians have until now had more vivid space traditions and ceremonies.
Congrats to our modern day explorers.
Where was Eileen Collins?
