Omni is a brilliant home system. It’s gonna be a case of vhs v Betamax 😂and I think omni will push on and become the go to scorer for home users. My wife’s the same, she doesn’t mind the omni staying up
Excellent comparison review mate. It will be a while before I get a designated darts room, but I’ve already been keeping an eye on the options for them both. This video was is helpful. I think eventually it will be the Omni for me all day long, especially since I don’t have much time to practice which rules out Go darts pro somewhat. Also I could use the Omni with my current set up if I wanted to. Take care mate ❤
Great review Kev. I think I will be going for the Omni at some point. I'm not fussed about tournaments at the moment, but as I use the DartCounter app a lot,I think this would be the easier/better set up for me.
The thing that convinced me to buy the scolia 2, is that it interact with godartspro and the virtual trainer, which makes it so much more enjoyable when doing the training games. My biggest concern is that I will break off one of the plastic arms if I walk into them by accident.
@TheScottishCowboy they should have made it so that you can click off the Camera part that extends out from the Surround light, and then you could insert some metal brackets to cover up, when you didn't want to use the scolia system. Shouldn't be that hard to manufacture.
I got my Omni a couple of days ago and im bloody loving it. Just one annoying thing though, I've had 3 180s and it miss scored all of them. Ive had no other miss scores either 😂
and in the omni app you can put any Webcam to the game. phonecam, extern webcams with pc an webcode... no virt needed! better than the boardview from scolia... greetz
@@96kawai The problem is, where do you point the camera? It can face the board, but folks can still stand a foot away cheating for an 80+ average, or it can face forward towards the oche, but then you cannot see the board. I have literally only managed to get one cam game going, and it was a farce when trying to correct scores; my opponent had to carry a cam hooked up behind them to the board, then take it back, after hitting a 167 checkout, and the shot clock ran out while he was setting it back up again so I won by default. 19 out of 20 times anyone you play against will just say "I don't have a camera".
Great review Cowboy This may be a stupid question, but is the Target Mod Hub compatable with the Scolia Home 2, or does the secure fittings not allow it to work? Cheers
Omni is great just needs more game types and sort out the undo button issue where if you remove your darts before you realise the omni's mistake then you can't change the score. Looking forward to seeing my game improve with the Omni. The hardware is great and in time I am hopeful the software on the app will also improve. £450 expensive but not too bad if you play a lot and plan on keeping it for years.
I played in comps online during lockdown. The standard of cameras were terrible, also as you mentioned, I was playing a guy who was hitting constant 26,45s. He switched to 19s and was hitting 133 or 171 constantly, I'm sure I could here a second person through his camera. I gave up after that. Hopefully these systems will get to the stage where you cannot cheat.
i had to send back my first one because in game the light was pulsing so much that i was disturbed... the second is better but when i look straitly to the light from near distance, i can see the pulsing. only when game is runnung. Grüße an alle! 😄
I tried it and it was great when it worked. Sadly I could only get it to work after spending 20 minutes each time I turned it on and Windows would only recognise 2 out of the three cameras. That and faffing about with the software to set it up, downloading different bits, configuring everything. I lasted about 2 weeks before I just gave up and bought the Scolia. In 6 months, the worst I have had to do is click the "calibrate" button mid game because I knocked a camera.
I have the scolia and my cousin has the Omni, I prefer the scolia , cause the arms of the cameras of the Omni, are very prone to get hit with the darts, ,on my cousin Omni has dart marks all over the plastic arms and they look terrible
Love this, I've been trying with getting 1 of them for my new darts room. 1 question I have, does the omni support an ethernet connection? My WiFi is non-existent in my house haha
@@MrJKDRob the app simply doesn't have enough games. It should give you a game creator where you can design your own game. I did suggest it to them and they said they will take it in to consideration so let's see, we can all hope Haha
A system as a whole scolia is ahead of Omni. Scolia have a dedicated team always making updates which is easy on a website. Target has previous rep for giving up on products. The app is harder to update than a website. I predict Omni 2 will come out in a years time and they will turn off updates for Omni one. Scolia give updates for all systems. Dart leagues is coming to scolia soon and live view for all games through the cameras that's what I love about scolia, the dedicated team behind it where target won't have a full time team on this look at target nexus. It would be great if they worked together like cross platform on Xbox and PlayStation. For me scolia is 10x better target have a 10x better marketing team
I totally agree with the scolia cheating it drives me mad!! Your wrong about the live camera though I use a iPad and it’s in colour and the picture ain’t no 4k but it’s not to the point you can’t see there board
@ mine isn’t no winning picture on the other hand though pal for the price the picture quality should be better and they should do something about the cheating that’s the biggest thing that makes me just end up playing the bot gives me a decent game and don’t cheat lol
You mean tracking one down, driving at least an hour to get there, spending a day hanging around not knowing anyone, spending a fortune on the bar for lunch and drinks, then driving home for at least another hour tired from 10 hours of sometimes playing darts? Each to their own, I guess.
There are pro's and con's, and it is not just about not having to score the games. As a training aid for the actual mechanics of getting better, not having to count / document / type / etc means more time spent focussing on your actual training. Being able to count will not make you a better player, just a less frustrating one to play against. Being able to count up and down is a skill in darts that also needs to be learned and practiced, but I prefer to separate the maths and mechanics.
Great review. As a casual player that’s yet to play anyone online, I’m loving the omni. It’s got me playing way more, and seeing a steady improvement

With Scolia you can also start a call during the game. Thus you can use your phone/tablet or laptop as a camera.
