I think it might be less confusing to people using older versions of the textbook if you included the actual chapter title in the videos name if it's possible to change.
Rajeev Oak A fair point, but the Swiss government was essentially under the thumb of Nazi Germany. When Berlin demanded it, Swiss banks lent the Nazi's millions, and the military worked against the allies. In fact, over 100 American/British airmen were held there in prison camps during the war
Ah well said old chap. But when taking into account the international pressure that the American government exerts on many countries could the same be said for Israel. Additionally, when taking a look at Switzerland in the 40's I think that is important to look at the leverage that the Swiss had over the Nazis. In Nazi Germany, 67% of the citizens were Christian and were led by the Pope as the chief religious leader. The Swiss Guard controlled\protected the Vatican hence giving the Swiss control of nearly 67% of German nationals . Furthermore, I think that the case can be made that the German people would be more incline to follow their pope then a quite radical Hitler. Leading the the Swiss to have the Germans by the proverbial "balls".
Andre K Hello Andre. Great question! We'll probably do a full video on this pretty soon, but I'll give you a brief synopsis. First of all, making the videos helps Frank and I learn the content ourselves very well. Writing the scripts and then listening to the audio over and over while we edit the videos made the AP test and the class a cinch! Second, for whatever reason, we find the whole process of filming and editing the videos very fun. I don't know why exactly. Third, we really enjoy reading supportive comments on the videos and also answering people's questions about American history. We don't get actual historical questions too often, but we love answering them. For example, if you look at our chapter 8 p1 video, Braylin Davis asked us about the Battle of Bunker Hill. We think its really cool to interact with people all over the country taking the same class and learning the same stuff. Hopefully that clears it up a bit. Let us know if you're wondering about anything else. - Abe
Well I thank you both for your efforts to help. Hope you both did well on the ap exam. As a sophomore in a three semester apush class I have about a year left to cover the information and not only have your videos been helpful, but they will become more helpful as time progresses and I use them to review the information I am learning now. Thank you and I hope you two can keep us updated on your situations. - Andre

'Flapper girl' remarks that the only remaining democracy in Europe was Britain. What about Switzerland ?

Hey, great videos guys. I have one question. Why are you making these videos? What benefit do they have to you?
