    Hey, great videos! My rebound is way to slow, since I'm very light and still have an M Rebound tune. Which shims did you remove? Or do you have any suggestion on which shim(s) I should remove? Thanks :)

    Hello, Thanks for the video. Question, how do you know what PSI to use for an individuals body weight? Rock Shox has the digram on the front forks but not for the rear. Or does it not matter for the rear? Thanks

    Thanks for sharing. These are great videos for the beginner. The 15w50 is expensive. I've heard of people using slickhoney instead. Not sure how they use it but it's an alternative to float fluid.

    @Stefan.... I found when I was arranging the shim stack below the dampener piston it didn't seem to have much affect on the rebound dampening.... But changing the oil viscosity to 2.5wt and using a smaller diameter shim closest to the dampener piston in low compression stack had the biggest effect...

    • @stefanlanger5672
      @stefanlanger5672 10 лет назад

      Thanks for this fast reply.
      Did you remove any of the shims then? Or did you just change the order, so that a smaller one is closer to the dampener piston?

    Great video, very useful. I may do the same to my Deluxe shock as it is really harsh over sharp roots (even just small ones), it is already "L" compression but I will try removing a compression shim. It is like there is no shock it just goes right through to the saddle even in full open mode. The shock works perfectly otherwise and sag is right. The fork glides right over them... Did you find you had the same issue with your shock? Was one shim enough? Hopefully it will not affect my trail mode switch too much...

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  5 лет назад +1

      For me it was a combination of changing viscosity oil and changing/removing shims to control how much “pack” I got over sharp edge hits... but you do compromise in other parts of the suspension stroke

    Kefir... Sorry, I do these videos as a tool for folks to work on their own bikes.. If you were someone who was local to me and needed help doing it.. Absolutely I would gladly lend a helping hand but you would be doing the work. I personally still refer to my videos from time to time too when I have to do some tuning.

    Hi, thanks for the video, very helpful. One question, when installing the IFP into the body, did you measure from the center of the IFP or from the edge?

    Did the shock feel better after this ?

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  5 лет назад +2

      Yes... I notice there wasn’t as much “pack” on sharp hits... a lot more compliant. But I lost some firmness... so a bit of a trade off

    @TheShecks7... I don't go by psi... I go by sag %... I typically run 30% sag.

    Hi mate,
    I have a damper that seemingly has no damping or air pressure down to the 10% sag marking. However after that it is fine, everything works as it should. It sits at the normal height without any weight but as you apply pressure to the suspension it just drops to 10% and then the spring and damping is normal. Sorry to repeat myself but I want to be sure it is understood. Can you offer any advice?

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  4 года назад

      I am only guessing.... But you may not have enough pressure in the dampener body... Try going up in pressure thru the IFP port

    Hey. please tell me, at what depth do you need to lower the piston of the ifp camera? I didn’t see the testimony of the caliper on the video! thanks for the answer. 67mm? what pressure do i need to pump into ipf camera?

    Good day . Excellent video tutorial. I have only one doubt I lost the first washer, the small one together the nut. It affects its correct function or I can leave it like this. Thank you very much for answering.

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  7 лет назад +1

      I think there will be some effect to your suspension... But give it a shot...the tune may work for you.... Let us know how it goes..

    • @teodinioronaldo3841
      @teodinioronaldo3841 7 лет назад

      The damper works well, as it is hard as a stone on the pavement, but as soon as it detects bumps, the inertia valve opens the oil passage and dampens. Before it did not work, and I do not know that it could change with the loss of the first washer. regards

    Hi, Thanks for very informative and useful video it helped me a lot. But my shock lost some air while removing red adapter from the negative IFP chamber. So it lost some pressure, how to avoid this? BTW I did everything as SRAM manual says - remove adapter together with the pump. My adapter is brand new original. Thanks

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  6 лет назад

      I sometimes will add a extra 10psi if I lose some of the pressr..

      Pressure

    • @ziurovas
      @ziurovas 6 лет назад

      Thank you, I did that also. It seems the air is going out from the pump not the shock chamber while removing. My shock performs as it did before servicing, if it leaked the air it would be different.

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  7 лет назад +1

      It is a shrader valve that comes with the rebuild kit... But you can get your local bike shop to order the specific shrader valve for the IFP port.

      The negative chamber automatically fills when you pump up the positive chamber. He put 250psi in the other side of the IFP.

    It not suprised me, that you did not show us when you removed ifp adapter from damperbody. It's trickiest part in hole damper service. How many times you have to do it before you manage to do it correctly?
