I have this model. Nice one by the way. It’s true that it took around 2 years since I bought it and it cost me cheap compared to the price for which it’s being sold for resale. The only downside it’s the white box, which has a huge stain and minors scratches below the wing and edges Worth it anyway.
I specifically avoided buying this A380 because I had bought the Year of Zayed version and the pearl fuselage was far too light, with little contrast to the white. I still feel that the fuselage colour is very light seeing this model, even though it matches the colour of the A319. It may be because of the difference of natural lighting.
Etihad's pearl colour is really tricking. I think at least both JC & GJ has done a better job than IF. IF's 777 & 350 turns the Etihad yellow into orange.
Hi, wow I’m really happy I found this channel with all these very informative reviews! I will definitely watch all of them and see what you say of each and every model 😍✈️ But for this Etihad A380 I can’t understand how you can give the paint job a 9/10, when the fuselage color is way too light and that kills all the contrast areas to the white. I guess JCwings used the aviation tag too and forgot that maybe the color faded on the old and scrapped A319 like the Blue on the Korean A380 you mentioned in the other video. I have stopped buying these Etihads because I’m waiting for a model with the right fuselage color to get produced 🙏 I love the Etihad livery but every one of my 1:200 models have the wrong fuselage color and I can’t wait to see one that looks accurate.
Glad that you like the videos! You are not alone, another viewer from FB also has the same comment on the colour. Somehow, I still feel its colour is good, I guess perhaps it’s because I compare it with other Etihads made by GJ and IF, especially IF.
Like you, I don’t buy Etihad models anymore until there’s one with the correct colours. Cathay, Virgin are another examples. Almost no one makes the colours entirely correct.
@KT's Hobbies Thank you very much for the response! That's very interesting to hear, I don't have any Cathay or Virgin yet, so I will definitely keep that in mind.
I still haven’t bought any Virgin model so far. Almost bought a GJ200 VS 787, but gave up when checked out coz felt something is not right with the pearl fuselage colour.
@KT's Hobbies I guess it depends on what your eyes are looking for. I can actually live with the strange orange on the Inflight because the main fuselage color is much better and that's what my eyes are on. One problem when the main color is this light is the pattern on the vertical stabilizer gets wrong too and the white triangles floats together with main color triangles. My latest Etihads from JCwings, the visit London A380 and the Visit New York 787-9 are really bad and there the main fuselage is pearl white instead of the real color.
I was lucky to find the rarest of them all 1/200 JC China Southern A380!
CZ is really really rare!
@@ktshobbies I found out it only came out in very limited numbers in 2013 for an airshow in China
I see! That’s why it’s so rare!
I have bought the JC wings 1/200 ANA flying honu in the blue. Was really happy even with the packaging!
Adding on- I think most JC wing A380s in the 1/200 series are rare and have below 500 units sold.
I really enjoy this video I keep rewatching it over love this man ❤❤❤
Glad you like it. Will do a JC vs GJ soon.
JC seems really good with painting
It has also ruined many, like Fiji!

I bought a few “white box” JC samples before!
