Last week we head traversed the Eastern Cape highlands, and this week we make our way to the Wild Coast! Starting our adventure in the rainy town of coffee bay, at the White Clay Resort. The pebbled beach and dramatic cliffs really set a spectacular scene to our moody morning. But our day will be a short one on the road, as we decided to sit out the rain at the Hole In The Wall resort where we found a backpackers for same price as camping. That was a great idea, because when we woke up in the morning, the rain had stopped and we could walk out to see the Hole in The Wall in up close and personal! From here we would have an adventure of a life time getting to a dream campsite known as Double Mouth in Morgan Bay. A campsite that would leave a time and experience that would live with me for years to come! The Hilux performed incredibly well throughout all the different environments and I am really keen to head out on some solo adventures soon!

That campsite with whales jumping on the back.. incredible!!! Wow that’s amazing!
It really is!
That sound of the rain and ocean I could sleep for days with that 😁
When I see such beautiful sights, its like nothing could ever go wrong in life
Love the way you stop in the moment and appreciate the natural beauty of an area.
Thanks for tuning in bud!
What an awesome trip man. I will definitely be putting that trip on my list of places to go. Thanks for a great video. Luxy looks the part out there in the mud and all.
It really was good fun! I'm stoked you enjoyed it!
Wow. I see the difference now between the Jimny and the Lux. Living vicariously through you man.
Awesome video once again, making us jealous with all the travels. Be safe and enjoy 😎
Adrian, thank you so much for showing us the beautiful sights of South Africa. Adnan from Pakistan
I really like and appreciate the short videos, but it’s also cool to change it up a bit.
I thought for the December period, it might be nice to have some nice long videos for people to watch! It seems to be well received 👌🏻
You are amazing and I am so inspired. Keep going.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the show Daniel! 👌🏻
Nice to have you back in action!
Wow nice SA is a amazing place
Congrats on your first real wild river crossing bud. The first one is always memorable. (Easy for Lux.)
You got that right!
Thank you for sharing this marvelous journey with us... today I shared this video with all members of my family.. we really had a great time... thank you again... love the hilux 👍
That is so awesome to hear Fozan! I’m so thrilled that you and your family could enjoy it together!
I really like your videos, when it shows up to me, I watch straight away
Awesome to hear Rafael! :D
The look of dog towards camera reminds me scene from Hollywood Movie. Enjoy your drive, stay blessed 🙏
Great content as always! Keep it up bro. 👌
Appreciate it!
Wonderful . Thankyou .
Awesome adventure mate, thank you. Can you please give a show on the gadgets you usein the cockpit? I see all sorts of things mounted on the windscreen and on the dash. thanks
That river crossing scene was bad a$$. Looked like something from old adventure movie classics 🙂💪
Great video Adrian. Bringing in the logo to centre screen at the beginning is cool. Congrats on getting a sponsor.👌🎉. Such beautiful areas that you've experienced, and the way you take us on your adventures is always amazing. Looking forward to the next one. .👍😎👌🎉
Thanks Rogey! 🤓 🍻
Pro-Tip - Go visit the Kgalagadi.... great camping and restcamps, plus dune driving through the Kalahari...spectacular
Its definitely on my wishlist!
Beautiful shot of the coast reminds me of the PNW keep those awesome videos coming
Thanks Julio! Glad you enjoyed it! :) Will do my best!

Glad you enjoy it! Thanks buddy!
Could be mistaken for Scotland mate. Absolutely incredible scenery.

@@jarokenny Why this guys suspension makes the truck look like it's riding on tiptoes or stilts.
Best wishes

Great!! You’re living the dream Adrian! I am missing South Africa so much though... (lived in JHB and CPT 1990-2003)
this gives me that feeling when i first started watchin nat geo as a kid the raw beauty of Gods creation. mooi bro
It was such a beautiful place brother!
Hey Adrian...thanks for an awesome video, I am stuck here in Amsterdam in the icy cold, so this video has been a great mood booster. Thanks for you email again the other day. Hoping to be in South Africa in March to do some more upgrades on my vehicle. Keep up the good work
Hey Paul! It’s fantastic to hear from you again! 👍🏻 really happy that you enjoyed it! It was a fantastic adventure for sure!
Also bro you need to give like a map of all these routes you’re doing ! Can’t believe SA have places like these that I’ve never experienced. You’re definitely helping me to get things in my bucket list
You are absolutely correct I do need to get a map sorted. Going to do some research on how best to do it! I do everything myself and am not very good at animation 😂 so I need to find a cheat way to do it
@@RoamOverlanding ya no bru serious Morgan bay looked unreal. Would be really really stoked if you are able to map out the routes. Especially the highlands and this wild coast one.
Really keen to check how western cape goes being a stellenbosch man myself. Good luck chief
@@Jaypee12369 so I have the entire trip mapped on my Garmin Overlander; so I just need to see what I’m going to do with the GPX files 👍🏻
Great video as always.
I can agree with your comments about Surfshark, I signed up for their service about 2 months ago and it is very good at connection to normally geo-blocked sites. I use mine daily to connect to the likes of BBC IPlayer to watch UK television from Turkey, where I now live.
I think your current lockdown is quite light, here no one is allowed out after 9pm or any time over the weekends. If under 20 or over 65 Mon-Fri only allowed out for 3 hours a day.
Hey Paul! That sounds hectic! We had quite a strong long down a couple months ago, and with cases rising again we might face a strong lockdown again soon after the Christmas holidays
my word. this genuinely makes me wanna get a hilux
Hahah
Awesome Adrian.
Thanks!
@@RoamOverlanding I need some video editing and presenting lessons please 😂
hahaha :D Just need a couple years
Hope you could have at least 3 videos a week. 🍻🍻🍻 thou i just started watching you since your purchased of your new hilux. More power.. cheers!!
Haha awesomeness! It takes me 4 days just to edit the video! So I need longer weeks 🤣
I’m só getting Iced Zoo biscuits today! 😛 Awesome trip Adrian. 🤙🏻
Hahah! Those Zoo’s were so damn good on that day!
What a stunning episode Adrian loved every bit of it..... The music the views just make me wanna go on an "epic trip" just like yours ☔ ☀ mud 🌊 🏕
So what’s stopping you from going!? :D hahah thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
I don't have a rig like yours 😉 😂 my joburg sedan won't make a river crossing nor fit a tent up the roof
I don’t think you need those things to have an adventure! 😂 I had plenty adventure on my Hyundai Accent 😋 or just find a friend who does have a rig 🤣
Man the Wild Coast has to be the most under rated region in the country.
Was trying to look up the "Hole In The Wall resort" do you happen to have a link for the spot looks epic.
It’s called First Resorts Wild Coast I think
Welldone mate, beautiful scenary, amazing weather, good company, home cooked food, a beast of a vehicle to keep up with, air of freedom all around, you really can't ask for more in this tricky times in the world. God speed ❤️ Love from India Adrian.
Thanks for tuning in Sathya! It was a really awesome adventure for sure! 👌🏻
You’re a legend bro
Awesome Adrian As Always!!! A++++
Hey another great video, the scenery reminds me of around the Scottish countryside near where I live, including the rain ;-) if you didn’t tell us where you were could easily be Scotland, looked epic thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
It was so damn great! Scotland is one of my favourite places to have been overseas so far, so it was great to have that feeling again :D
You don't need to apologize for your good fortune of finding a sponsor.
GOOD for YOU!!!!! Take advantage of your channel while you can.
Who knows what the future will bring? Maybe, The north Koreans will
buy RUclips & shut it down. No one know what tomorrow will bring.
!
Hahaha 😂 that’s one way of looking at it! 👍🏻
What rims do you have on the hilux, they look great?
Hey bud! They are ProComp Predator 35 from Tyrelife Solutions; if you want a 5% discount code you can use BRAA20 if you decided to order something.
Another great video. But you did miss out on two awesome destinations between Hole in the Wall and Double Mouth. One is Dwesa, the other Yellowwood Forest, just on the other end of Morgan's from Double Mouth. Guess you'll just have to go back...
Oh no! I definitely want to go back 🤟🏻
Can you put some series sequence numbers for your vids in the title. So it's easy to follow the sequence of your adventure.
Will see what I can do for you :) Otherwise you can use roamoverlanding.com/videos/ which is a much nicer view of everything :)
Can u please make a full walk around the amazing car
Will do soon!
How is the space for two adults in the roof top tent? Adequate or not quite?
Plenty bud!
What software you use to edit your videos?
Hey Marc, it’s called Adobe Premiere Pro
Jimmny was charm
Thanks. Just what I wanted to see. What road did you drive from hole in the wall to Morgans Bay. Hole in the wall is high on my bucket list. Will be in Morgans Bay in 4 week's from today.
Loved it great video as always
We drove predominantly on dirt but ended up on the N2 for the last little push 👌🏻 I have the GPX files from the Garmin I just need to see if I’ll do anything with them
Awesome video Adrian!
Such beautiful scenery! I'd love to some day soon fly over and follow some of the journeys you have taken us through!
I have never travelled to South Africa from Australia. Is it generally safe? I'd love to hear any tips or advice you might have.
Hey buddy! Thanks so much! It is generally safe, you just have to have your head on your shoulders. Most crime is opportunistic and non violent. People are poor and looking for a shortcut to some income. But so far on my travels the only time I have been a victim of crime has been on this trip while staying at my friends house, but when camping and such I have been perfectly safe. 👍🏻 it’s such a beautiful place to explore, it’s so worth the visit!
@@RoamOverlanding Okay sweet. Thanks Adrian - I'll definitely have to make plans soon!
lovely views. Is the wild coast in the eastern cape?
Yes sir! :)
I really miss Jimny🙂. I hope the current owner maintain it in good shape.
I hope so too, I think he does :)
What, no ferry crossing at Kei mouth?
We wanted to; but didnt have the time on the day :( Ended up having to head to the N2 to get around that way. Also werent sure on times of the ferry, or availability traveling on a random day of the week outside of tourist season. A good reason to go back :D
@@RoamOverlanding Pity. Here's a fun fact: Story goes that John Vorster (a previous Prime Minister of SA) hid out at Double Mouth for a while during WW2. He was involved in anti-government activities and on the run. 20 years ago the beach shack he lived in was still there.
Crazy! Well if I ever go missing, you guys know where to look first 🤣
Good job...keep 'em coming 😁.... i hope to 4wheel thru africa...
Maybe we ll meet on the trail...beers on me....cheers
Hopefully one day! Have a great week ahead
I ll try...i work 24h shifts...zombie mode...i hope it will be over soon..f.covid 😀... tnx
ARB diff breathers...Do you have them??
Nope! Will be doing diff breathers soon
Roam Overlanding cheap and easy to do yourself.
Exactly
I see that you are using a RAM mount for your phone. Do you like them? Sturdy on the off roads? PS: Just subbed, keep up the good work my bro!
Hey bud! Thanks for subbing 👌🏻 yeah the ram mount works great for my
Phone and I use it for my Garmin Overlander 👍🏻
@@RoamOverlanding shweet! Cheers!
Please don't mind me saying that it was more fun with jimny.
That’s fine, but I’m happy that it’s different now 👍🏻
When are you arriving in cpt? Im in cpt and keen to meet.
I have already been there and had to come back to Joburg already unfortunately. My company we got stolen and it put a massive delay on everything 👍🏻
Any plans of urs for coming to INDIA
not yet but one day!
Where were you at school bro?
I went to British International College in Sandton
When are you in Cape Town - it would be cool to hook up. I work a lot with ORRU ( off road rescue unit)and WSAR ( Wilderness search and Rescue). We volunteer our time as 4x4 crews and mountain rescuers in helping those in trouble out in the wilderness. We can maybe try set up a short 4x4 trip somewhere near Cape Town and highlight what we do as volunteers. Introduce you some well seasoned 4x4 rescuers too.
Email me tim@capetownhiking.co.za and hopefully put something together.
I am a bit disappointed 😥. The video advertises the wild coast but the guys entirely missed the best part of the true wild coast. Lusikisiki, Mkambati, Dwesa, Mpame is the real experience if advertizing the wild coast. I can send you some real river crossings if you like. But I have to give you some credit...... You stuck it through the rain when I thought you going to give up. Here it never stops raining. Only for the brave adventurist. 😀
Hey Johann, as I mentioned in the video this was my first time ever going there; and I learnt a lot about the area and have more confidence to explore further when I go back one day. I’d love to hear of some awesome spots from you; you seem to know the area well. You can email me on info@roamoverlanding.co.za if you have an cool recommendations 👍🏻
@@RoamOverlanding Appolagies if I sounded a bit negative. Would never want to discourage anyone to roam the wild coast this is in my opinion the best part of SA coast and truly unexplored and wild. Many prefer to skip this coast due to all its challenges (roads, rain etc.) So I actually respect you......
@@johannstrydom9683 I was scared of the Wild Coast because I had no idea what to expect, I heard lots of rumours about the place from people; and it shattered all of the negative expectations. I fell in love with the place and will definitely go back and explore it much deeper!
@@RoamOverlanding To be honest with you the true wild coast lies between Mkambati and Dwesa. I you go back that should be your trips start and end. After that I promise you, you will email me back. There ain't many experiences like that. But do it in June /July or don't try it alone without a recovery pal. I will send you some videos on email.
@@RoamOverlanding oh by the way.... The best geniune people I have met on holiday was on this part of the coast. The people are just amazing and adds to the experience.
