They finally added bundles to Bedrock yesterday and I must say they are fun to mess with. I made two bundles of bundles since you can put 16 empty ones inside another whether they're nested or all in one. You can actually put bundles with items in them inside another bundle as long as they don't exceed the limit, so as long as you could fit the items from one bundle into another plus the bundle itself then you can shove them into each other without taking anything out of either. Example: I have two bundles. One has 28 items in it and the other has eight empty bundles. Since bundles count as four items that means the second bundle is exactly half full with 32/64. 32+28+4=64, meaning I can put the bundle bundle inside the other bundle and it'll be full, but if either bundle had even one extra item I wouldn't be able to put either in the other because it'd be over capacity. The fact that you can't see the contents of a bundled bundle means you can give another player a present without them being able to see what's in it until it's opened, similar to wrapping something in tissue paper before putting it in a bag.

Yes, Mojang are giving us multiple small updates from now on, as they did with armadillos, wolf variants and wolf armour - which came in 1.20.5 as their own little update, not in 1.21 as many people seem to think. Apart from anything else, it will ensure that we all want to play on whatever the latest version is because there will be "goodies" coming with it.
Perhaps they should add in a gametag-based system on whether a mob/entity is affected by either magma-bubbles or soul-bubbles or both (like a gameplay:canBePulledDown). For the squids it would make sense that they can be pushed up (since that won't damage them) but then not be affected by magma blocks.
What can you use new custom crafting recipe types in datapacks for that’s related to sorting?? And what about it couldn’t you do before with just the smithing table? Custom recipes for it do the exact same thing
lol as someone that lives in Pedestrian Time (aka Pacific Time)... 10 AM allows the Redmond, WA Mojang office to participate also without having to deal with unfortunate hours.
The bundles seem to be starting to become an actual contender for helping the inventory issues in minecraft these last updates. I can only imagine they add something like that in-inventory functionality to shulker boxes later down the line. Would be nice if server operators could tune the maximum contents of a bundle. Just some thoughts.. Thanks, X!
I think a bigger reason for squids not being affected by bubble columns is that magma blocks generate in the overworld, and so you'd have squids just randomly dying to them. Which, I mean, they already frequently beach themselves, but still. It's not like the farm is that overpowered (and quite frankly the idea that a farm can even _be_ overpowered is a bit suspect imo). Existing squid farms are already easy anyway.
With being able to scroll through the bundles inventory, I think it would Kewl to be able to use said selected item or tool and use it directly from the bundle 🤔 Say you've got a bundle with your different tools in it, that would be incredibly helpful with inventory
They should make it so if you give an allay a bundle full of different items it'll pick up those items one at a time. Because some people, myself included, like to bring allays exploring to grab items that fall out of reach, but you either need a ton of allays or, what I do, have one with scaffolding so I can get the items myself, and climb back up with the scaffolding breaking it behind me for my allay to collect for me. The fact that they'd only bring one stack back at a time should balance it out so it's not too OP.
Really on point with the thumbnail today. I've always been a fan of X's thumbnails, but today's really takes the cake. I love the small detail of the bundle at the bottom
Dyed bundles definitely look cool but I still think the only change that will make people actually use them is if they up the storage to like 4 or 5 stacks. Then you could have like your 5 most used tools in one and that would be cool.
i think the mayor reason they made squid ignore bubble column in the first place was the desync they had and looked like they flew way up in the air. i think that has now been fixed along with the bug where squids spawn in bubble columns.
2:58 this is nice and all but i would really like to see mojang adress obvious old problems and inconsistencies before they move forward. I’m still waiting for concrete and terracotta slabs stairs and walls….
I kinda think that bundles should stack unstable items. Like imagine going looting and putting all the armor and things that you find into the bundle to free up space! Or of you play with your friends and a new one joins an old server, you could give them a welcome bag of gear to get them up to level with everyone else! No shulkers, only gear. And maybe instead of being stacks of 64, it could be stacks of 16?
Again, as I notice long long ago. Bundle is just a slot on your inventory( for a single 64-item. I hope ,Mojang change the bundle into 3 slot that accepts shulkers. It makes the bundle 81x more than this current Bundle.
I didn't even realize that squid weren't affected by bubble columns in Java edition. I never did make a squid/glow squid farm in java. As far as I am aware they have always been affected in Bedrock edition.

Then again, I remember you're not American, judging by your British accent, so I guess you had no way of knowing that.
Personally, I think the biggest issue with squids not ignoring columns is specifically the amount of items that could be put at the bottom of the ocean ravines.
I'm surprised they haven't allowed the use of dyes on pretty much everything as a paint effect. Maybe that's too much work. Still hoping for colored water, myself.
I was so excited reading the change log and seeing the first bug fix about the too expensive thing, because I thought they were removing the feature altogether (it’s such a stupid feature that I assumed lots of people had assumed it was a bug of some kind and reported it as a bug so that’s why it was in the bug fixes section). Sadly that is not the case. Still a good snapshot though
What is so OP about having a mountain of ink!? It's not exactly used for the most powerful of features; dye, book and quil, and making signs and item frames glow. Those are the only practical uses I can think of. I believe there's a villager trade for them, but it can't be any worse than the infinite rotten flesh from a zombie XP farm or the pumkons and mellons from their farm.
seems like smaller updates allow the devs to focus on community requests. that or they are focusing on community requests to regain their reputation idk
I do hope that this renewed development of bundles means they'll be implemented into the game proper soon, if not in 1.21.2, then maybe the next or the one after
I get the feeling that bundles are, for the most part, done being developed, as being able to change their color seems like it would be the last thing Mojang would be concerned about.

Would be cool if a bundle could be a placeable block, and you can place items in a shulker box without having to place it
I had really hoped they would’ve let you dye them like leather armor and wolf armor where you can have any color combination.
I like that enderpearls disappear/reappear when you log off and back on. but I don’t like that they disappear for good(?) when you die.
yooooo we can have "upgradeable gear" in the crafting table now! much better than the smithing table, we can use multiple items now!
seems like smaller updates allow the devs to focus on community requests. that or they are focusing on community requests to regain their reputation idk
I do hope that this renewed development of bundles means they'll be implemented into the game proper soon, if not in 1.21.2, then maybe the next or the one after
With the amount of changes bundles have received recently, maybe mojang is more determinated to finally release those things.
I am SO hyped about dyeable bundles!!! ahh!! I am playing Minecraft SO much more with all of these quality of life updates they've been doing.
Coloured bundles!
I wish the bundle can be dyed like leather armor, so we can have (near) infinite combination.
If you're in the UK minecraft live should be around 6pm
7:43 Husk SMASH!
pt stands for Pacific Time, which is the time for the pacific coast in the US
Mojang: Minecraft Live is on Sep 28th 2024
Me/everyone else in the community right now: Oh my god, it's happening. Everyone stay calm.
I get the feeling that bundles are, for the most part, done being developed, as being able to change their color seems like it would be the last thing Mojang would be concerned about.
PT is Pacific Time, since they are part of Microsoft, their timezone is based on the west coast of the USA
