Oh poppet, so sorry to hear that you have had medical issues but great following video to cheer us up. Loved the S&C and 15 miles in the Bank to withdraw on race day. X
Well done, Suzie! It's great to see that things are going more smoothly and you're getting in some really solid runs. The east coast got a little bit of a break from summer misery in mid August, but down here at least we're back in the broiler now. It seems like I've seen more good stuff from you on Strava this week and I hope it's still looking good.
I agree, at least 1 UCan per hour. On my long run, I try to get 60 grams of carbs per hour. 1/3 from a UCan, 1/3 from Skratch carb drink (25g per flask and 1 flask per hour), and 1/3 from a food source like a chew, bar, etc. For me, the skratch chews taste the best and after that, the cliff blocks. But I understand some people don’t like the texture. Your runs are looking great Susie! 😀👍🏼❤️🌈🏃🏻♀️
I have never used Skratch and a lot of people are recommending it lately. I guess ita my turn to give it a try!! I don't know that i will be able to consume 60 grams an hour moving forward... The times when I've had 60 grams of carbs I haven't done well in races. And by not done well I mean I ran slower. I have run faster taking 40 grams an hour, and i ran my fastest marathon ever with 100grams of carbs during the whole Marathon ( i took 3 gels and a banana). Why? I don't know. It seems counterintuitive to what everyone is saying. But that is my experience. 🙂
@@IRunThings. Experience trumps anyone else’s advice. Listen to your gut, literally! 😉 I’m a heavier runner than you, so that’s probably why my body can do 60. Plus Texas heat, I sweat so much out. And I’m diabetic and I need to keep the energy consistent. I prefer skratch to tailwind because of the lower sugar. I’m sure you’d like either. Good luck! 😀
@@vanessamartinez4917 thanks Vanessa 😊 I have tried Tailwind. I liked the flavor but it didn't do much for me in terms of performance. But then again more seems to be more and not better for me.
I haven't had a good run in the rain for a while. I'm going to have to plan that out. I'm glad it didn't rain during my race this weekend though. That would have been a terrible time.

Thanks!! And yeah it was a good week!

@@IRunThings If what you’re doing works for you, then keep at it. We women who have lived a few decades or so know our bodies fairly well. 😉

I am excited to watch your video about it!! The pictures from Instagram looked badass. 😍
@@IRunThings I was a little disappointed I didn't get a picture coming up from the dunk wall but that's fine. I'm hoping to get the video up soon.
@@WVRunningDon you survived the wall, the picture is just a picture. It sounds like it was epic nonetheless
That's a really nice route you got there..I wish I can find a road/trail to run...smh
Yeah. It's a great path and it's always quote busy. I am very fortunate that I open my door and I can run miles on end. That path is 120 miles long
@@IRunThings That's awesome...120 miles long...sheesh!!😯
@@TheBsheep yeah it's pretty sweet
