      I really want to see the fallout of Punisher disappearance. For example all the unmarked weapons out on the street in the hands of killers and criminals, the fact Maria was also stupid enough to give to charity in their children’s names as if nobody would ask questions. The fact that the Hand is still at large and recruiting another fist of the Beast. Also maybe Frank will come back from weird world under a new identity. He won’t kill put maim, cripple and paralyze, especially with mercy bullets that can break bones. Not to mention for a supposedly unreachable dimension Roxxon had portals to it and Dr Strange students were able to teleport there. If Marvel doesn’t follow up they are really lazy hacks. Also Maria for all her living her life it will be in hiding and I really don’t think the Avengers will look after her.

    The Punisher, in my eyes, will never be what MARVEL turned him into. He'll always represent what it means to lose everything and to try to fight for what's right even if it means losing yourself in an eternal struggle against those that commit evil.
    His character, his symbol will forever help me through the broken road ahead... that, sometimes, it is the imperfect and, at times, the visceral nature of reality that the world needs to see and understand.

    Punisher once said 'I'm not the solution... I'm a symptom of a greater disease.'
    He said this to cops. Cops who unironically used his symbol because they not only had never gone through his trauma, they never once understood what he stood for. He said this to cops because he was disgusted that cops thought of him as 'a good guy' and a 'hero' when even Frank Castle knew he was neither. He wasn't a good person, even if he could do good things, nor was he a hero... even though he could do heroic things.
    Frank Castle was a victim... and a symptom ... of a greater disease and that disease was Society, from cops to average joe shmoes not stepping up to corrupt politicians and corrupt cops and corrupt business people and toppling them down like they rightfully should be so that they can put something better in that place. He wanted those cops **to do better** and actually be agents of mercy and protection, not like him... especially since so many of those cops power tripped just because they had a badge. It's a reflection of that statement, that old adage 'with great power comes great responsibility' and those cops in that moment... were all failures in Frank Castle's mind.
    How Marvel could so royally EFF THAT UP is amazing... and saddening.

      Like in many real life places here in the us where crime is so rampant due to soft on crime policies those don’t work
      They need to fear consequence to want to change if they don’t they won’t change no amount of kindness can change that

At the same time they have to be held responsible for those privileges they have and when cops start to think that their badge makes them 'better than you' is when they fall astray.
      Cops are supposed to be public servants and sadly while sometimes they're tasked with upholding unfair rules or do things out of ignorance of how some more intricate situations/laws work at no point should cops become *BULLIES* and that was my point.
      Cops should not be their own little clique, their own little gang, their own little private army that think they can do whatever they damn well please and that's what the Punisher was saying in that particular comic. I saw this storyline as a slap in the face. The reason I enjoyed reading The Punisher all these years was the fact that Frank was while crazy, still defended the innocent and didn't need powers to take out the trash. Now while there are different writer's that have done The Punisher over the years, this was by far the worst betrayal to the fans of this character by far. Frank loved his family and would do anything for them. His wife would never just up and divorce him. This whole run was a joke from the get go.

    Modern Marvel just cannot do nuance. The Punisher's brutal but still morally grey approach always intrigued me, and thank god the Daredevil show did such a great job of contrasting those two great characters and their methods before Disney really started their meddling. Sucks to see just how far down the drain the franchise has gone, but hey- at least they can feel good knowing they gave the fans a good scolding once the comics are shut down for hemorrhaging money.

    With Marvel doing this, knowing that the Punisher is an ex Marine. In effect Marvel just took a duke over the faces of the US m
    Marines whether serving now, veteran or honorably discharged. Which is low, REAL low. And being Castle's honest and a family man shows that even Marvel even sees that as a threat. Folks, I have nothing but the purest and unlimited respect to the US Marines for what they do. Marvel to me, take a hike. The Punisher teaches so many people things to never give into the temptations of the evils of the world by, the wrongdoers, the corrupt, the sadistic, and the treacherous. And being a true badass whilst doing it. No, Marvel you are in NO way "Stan Lee's" Marvel.

    In the 80s/90s, The Punisher scratched an itch. Gangs and drugs were rampant in many major cities. Cartels ruling nations. Trust in the establishment declining more and more. Frank was clean, simple, his actions felt vindicating, just. Frank Castle stood for anyone who'd lost loved ones to criminal violence or who'd been let down by the establishment.
    Maybe it's better that he's done, but man... What a lousy ending. . .

    • @ricardogalvan1031
      @ricardogalvan1031 Год назад +1

      We're already heading back to those times. Murder rate sky rocketing in every major city. Houston caught up to Chicago's old record, while Chicago hit a 1000. Murder and crime on the daily news. Body of a raped female found in the Bayou. Gun fire at the high end mall, regular people screaming and running last week or so. Pregnant woman shot down for no reason at a stop light maybe over in Seattle. Guy just walks up to her and shoots her dead. Meanwhile, Prosecutors across the nation think enforcing the law on shoplifting is racist. They think bond requirements are racist. Walgreens and a host of other major stores are fleeing San Francisco. But the same polices driving them out in San Fran will soon be in your city too. Paul Kersey and Frank Castle would be right at home in this environment.
